What's with his parents and the problem with Grayson (Grayson's story is actually the first she came up with, when she started with omegaverse, but it's only release now), they have their own stories (even his grandparents), and his two brothers will too. So most likely the author didn't want to spoil too much.
I mean you can read everything as a standalone, but those character who have their own stories, you'll only see the surface of those character in other stories.
