I liked it but I think the main issue with the writing and "rushed" ending is that the villains are just too dumb.
The plot really can be spelled as people going: "Hey, don't mess with Grace, she's kinda crazy" and the villains going: "I'm gonna do that anyway"

So them having an alibi is good and dandy, by why not check if the least likely suspect and least likely to gain from killing royalty also has an alibi
