Your theories are correct. I've seen it happen and it's not pretty. It comes with the territory though. Being part of the adult entertainment world is only glamorous to outsiders. I read a part of the novel and in it, there was more details on the fake prince and how the real prince liked to hurt him, like whipped him and such. Broke my heart when i read that. Sadly, i don't have the link. I remembered searching for the novel on google and just happened upon it.

Although the real prince is such a dick too for even bothering venting his frustrations. It was interesting how Feng MIng will fend the real prince of, then at first he will be intrigued, fall inlove and come to the point of unable to live without him. Feng Ming's expertise in both war tactics, economics and agriculture became known far and wide and he became the target of all sorts of people in different countries. The novel is interesting^_^

it seems like they both the first fake prince and rong tian genuinely hated each other (i've read the novels too). as for the issue he probably had some severe insecurity that he take it out on servants which shows that the first fake prince had attitude problem as well, making rong want to bully him more. he's pitiful but with his attitude, it's hard to symphatize.

Feng Ming was to set out as ambassador to the country Fan Jia the dead uncle was married to. Because the real prince killed his uncle who is one of the candidate crown prince to country he married into. Now the father in law, the old king is angry and treat to have war.
The real reason why the real prince want the coronation to the throne asap is that Feng Ming was poisoned by a King of LI from another country that is also visiting the country Fan Jia. Just to let that king of Li know that even he can control Feng Ming's life but he can never control Xie Rei, because Feng Ming is a fake prince.
The second princess in the volume 2 is the younger sister of King of Li, she want to make capture Feng Ming and offer him to her Brother King of LI so she make up some sobbed story to the gentle naive Feng Ming just make thing easier for kidnapping. She was never in love with any one.
By the way just for fun fact, the Queen of Xie Rei. mother of the real prince is an old lover with the uncle, younger brother of the previous king. The Queen was forced to married the previous King and have the real prince. That was another reason the younger brother come back for the throne.
