Now this just reads like a tragedy to me. Her longing for him was beautiful and tragic and now she hates him for no reason whatsoever. When it would have made sense for her to hate him after years of him just not returning her feelings (which he was entitled to so I ain’t mad at him), she now just has this hatred because a boy-god who won’t grow up and his mother intent on revenge, struck her with the arrow of hatred. She’s having everything she’s ever wanted and dreamt about but is now convinced she hates it. Stupidest thing she’s done was pray to another goddess. Now look, she’s in a nightmare. Meanwhile, ML is barely recognizable to me. I actually truly enjoyed how unshakable he was in his godhood and that made me look forward to how he could possibly fall for her, but they messed that up by cheapening their love story with stupid Cupid arrows. I can’t even take anything he says seriously because it feels like he’s been brainwashed. He says the obvious: “our feelings cannot have changed overnight” and yet seems unable to grasp that that’s exactly what happened. So fxcking frustrating for that to go on for so long. I basically skimmed through chapters 8-17 to see if they’d come back to their senses, but nothing. So I’m done here.
PS: the characters who truly piss me off here are Aphrodite and her boy god of a son. I’d only return if it meant they suffer the consequences of this, but I doubt that’s going to happen.
I really hope the effects of that arrow doesn’t last long. I am absolutely not a fan of that cheap way of him falling for her because of two gods’ prank. Annoys me to no end. I’ll read the remaining chapters and see if I keep this or not. I was loving the story up until that point
I would read the original myth if that’s what I was interested in. I wanted a new rendition. Without looking up this specific story, I just knew it followed the original mythology. They all have this tragic tone. I wanted something new. I wanted to see a god fall for a being they would never fall for. I wanted to see a god experience a feeling they’ve never experience before more organically. Instead, they got shot through by an arrow and it made the entire thing cheap to me. There was nothing to like or enjoy about it. Most of all, I hate the notion of someone not having any control over themselves. If she hated him, it had to be because he’s toyed with her for so long, not because someone shot her with an arrow. As a webtoon I was enjoying, this conclusion is cheap.
I’m lowkey glad it ended there because the whole thing was beautiful to me and after he came back to life from being turned into a vampire, I started to worry about what that would mean if the story went on for a long time. A lot of times, authors love to make things spiral for the worse before it gets better again. I didn’t want to see that happen here since the two had already suffered so much, so I’m loving it. I do hope for some side stories though, since those tend to have more of a positive note

lol first time I see a cakeverse. Didn’t realize this was a thing and according to the comment section, they’re usually not this intense? I can’t imagine that lmao, this one seems to be on the right wavelength considering the premise. I keep expecting dark haired to bite a chunk of flesh off light hair whenever they’re in bed together
NGL I was wanting that to happen as well
lol I’m scared every time because I feel like it might end as more of a tragedy.
