Randomly imagining this couple meeting this author’s other characters from the manga Plaything.
I feel like everyone would vibe together except for Orr who would probably hate the duke. I can see Orr and the mercenary MC bonding over sparring stuff though, and Mayim probs would just get along with everyone (I can really imagine the duke requesting the fruit aphrodisiac from him to use on poor mercenary Lmao).

Is the thing the incestuous sis is sending the duke a sex toy or am I being too crazy here? But the duke definitely looked suspicious smirking saying MC would soon get to know what it is and like it.
Btw the incest kid thing is disturbing. I really hope MC doesn’t fall in love with the duke first, that man is way too messy and the power dynamic very unequal.
Also, since jealousy was brought up this chapter, I wonder how that’ll work between them. Yeah I wanna see a jealous duke soon lmao I’m almost rooting for MC’s female lover to come back already (but poor woman though she seems to really like MC, hope she finds happiness somewhere else and isn’t harmed by the duke or something because that dude can get rid of people like flies).

Okay so in the Q&A someone asked if Hojun and Taeryung will ever meet again, and the author answered that reincarnation does exist in the world of this story, and now most importantly, that “Taeryung and Hojun may have already met each other again… and the readers may have seen them too!” I think the last part of this statement is very telling, so I wondered if the author had put any Easter egg showing what could be their reincarnation.
There was a time skip in the last chapter so if they really reincarnated they would be children. The most interesting thing I found on last chapter that could allude to this was a silver haired demon child putting flowers on Kangchul’s body, with tails on his back alluding to a fox demon. I got curious if this could be Taeryung’s reincarnation (silver hair) or maybe Hojun’s (fox tails)? I’m not sure.
I looked at the exorcist children too but didn’t find any that made me think they could be Hojun’s or Taeryung’s reincarnation. I guess maybe the light haired purple eyed exorcist kid could be Hojun? Again, I don’t know.
Anyways I don’t think it’s likely the author would answer “the readers may have seen them too” if she/he didn’t at least drop one hint on the last chapter of what could be Hojun’s and/or the Minister reincarnation. My bet would be on the silver haired fox demon being Taeryung but I have no idea why he’d be putting flowers on Kangchul’s body?? I so wanted to reach a better conclusion but my detective skills kinda sucks :/

What is it about painter of the night that makes me reread it so many times and not get tired of it? There’s other manwhas I like but none that I reread like this one Lmao
Crossing my fingers for an awesome next season!!! Hope the author is getting the rest she deserves and cooking up some nice ideas

Guys sorry but can someone explain to me the significance of the Lee last name? I didn’t get it.

From my understanding, his mother had a dream where a dragon emerged from the lee river and flower into her belly. That simbolizes that her child would ascend to the throne. So he took that river, which is kind of sacred to him because it's where it all began in a way, and gave him the name as a simbol of good faith to bestow his favor

That’s really interesting! I went back to that particular chapter to understand it better, and then it got me thinking, could that dream also mean the emperor is a dragon immortal deity who came to the human realm or something of the sort? But differently from Kang he’s got no memories? So many theories lmao

Possibly. A dragon coming into the belly of a pregnant woman has been used a lot of times before as a simbolism of them ascending, but since in this world we know gods are a very real thing...and asian stories DO tend to go that way....what you're saying could very well be plausible
Honestly...i hope not tho ʕ·ᴥ·ʔ
He's pretty shitty to me and it's such a cliche to make the big, bad, overbearing fuck boi to be the strongest, which....eh, isn't really my thing.
I'd much prefer it if the mc just left after three years and the emperor was left very mortal and very heartbroken.........but that's not how these stories usually go ┐(´v`)┌

Yeeeah I definitely see where you’re coming from, that is a very common twist for sure! I was just reading a few novels that went kinda like that, so I can’t help projecting a few theories on this story.
Let’s look for clues on the next chapters and maybe we’ll find more solid evidence of where this is going :’) Meanwhile crossing fingers hoping someone could pick this novel up for translation, this story is very interesting!!

Apparently an unpopular opinion over here but I love Kai and Harbin together. I like the dom villainess + loyal subordinate dynamic, and the fact Kai is one of the only ones (if not the only) Harbin fully shows vulnerability to. He’s pretty much her knight even at her weakest or her worst, and his priority, he’s very loyal to the one he truly loves which I never expected from him in the beginning!
But I do feel sorry for the other girls, especially Aro who loves him so much, I hope she can get over him and find someone better.
Also I’d like to see Harbin grow to be less selfish and become true friends with the girls but I think that’s probably hoping for too much Lmao.
Inexpressive faced people falling in love will always be funny lmao
Also, thankfully a normal parent has appeared !
