Is this grooming??
I'm trying to read this cause I like mc when I saw a clip of older him on TikTok, but the other guy is giving me weird vibes.
I don't care about age gaps when they get together once they're both older and mature, but for that I need the older one to at least have purely platonic thoughts while the younger one is still a minor(or till 20, at least).
Like, I'm just a few years older than the mc and if I just picked him up on the streets like that I would NOT be acting so touchy. If you're just a generally touchy person I can excuse it, but then the prosecutor went and blushed cause he smiled??
What's up with that :(
Like it feels like he's flirting and that makes me feel queesy so I need to know if this is a misunderstanding on my part or something

So I read a bit ahead and in that scene he literally sleeps with him right after just cause it was midnight and so technically his birthday.
Him not sleeping with minors at that point is just a technicality.
For starters, we don't know at what hour he was born. So even just biologically speaking unless he was born at midnight he's very much still just 17. And even if he *was* born at midnight, nothing has really changed since just three hours ago when the prosecutor wouldn't touch him "cause he was a minor".
That tells me he just doesn't want to get into hot water.
Idk Korean law, but in quite a few jurisdictions you aren't fully counted as an adult till a whole day has passed. That has to count for something. It's because those governments recognize that having a birthday doesn't automatically just make you smarter and more mature, not to mention legal repercussions of being tried as an adult in one country when due to time zones you'd still be prosecuted as a minor in another.
I'm getting off tract lol. The legality isn't the issue. The issue is that he's housing a kid who clearly had a rough life who has literally no one else in his life and the big powerful prosecuter is being touchy with him when he isn't in a position to say no.
Sure, he then turns around and wants it as well, but imo that's a different and separate issue than an adult making advances on a minor.
Sorry for the rant lol. I don't have a problem with age gaps, and there are plenty of stories I love that have them, but the way it developed in this one just seemed suspect.

Oh boo hoo your feelings weren't reciprocated. That doesn't give you the right to do that??
The mc was wrong first for being kinda homophobic but they're young in a a society like Korea's, can't exactly blame him for being taken aback. If that has been the end of it tho, then mc would have been the ah, but red head goes and does allât when it wasn't neededdddddd

Are there stories like this where the adopted kid doesn't turn out to be a romantic interest?
I get the feeling the kid here isn't a normal kid but someone who knows much more(maybe another demon or an angel?) so it's fine but I'm not liking the "raising someone" trope id like the kid the big bad demon takes in to just be a kid for once...so if anyone has any recs

Ok? But he's still his guardian.
That's what I mean with adoption tho now I'm unsure if it's more like a sponsorship(?) type of deal.
Either way, when I mentioned raising someone I was referencing the trope we can clearly see play out in so many mangas which is very obviously problematic. That's what I mean. Regardless of this story, the fact that that trope is so common is disturbing

A thereās two types of guardians:
A parental figure that raises the child
An actual guardian that guards/protect people
The demon is neither bc heās not any of those
I know the troupe your talking about but this is not a raising troupe period.
The only people that are raising the kid is the people at the school/orphanage.

Thatās literally one scene and itās not like that at all!!! There are no suggestions whatsoever in the manga! DO NOT WATCH THE ANIME. All the beauty of the artwork will be lost. Yana too so is an immaculate artist and storyteller and the story is truly amazing with interesting characters, different arcs and exciting plot twists. Truly a must-read! They have no intimate relationship or anything like that at all. Itās more like an overqualified servant looking after an arrogant yet clever and sinister little boy who happens to be one of the most powerful lords of England with his hands in all kinds of politics and black market dealings and with murder being on the daily to-do list

I'm ngl I really thought they would break up till the end lmaoooo. I kept waiting for that moment.
Also I thought we'd have a show down with the father but that never happened. Yeah, sociopathic tendencies should be alarming in a child, and you absolutely should take it seriously so the professor wasn't wrong. But the dad went about it wrongly the whole damn way .
I like how the characters had fault but it showed that life still went on. It's not an "I've banished this evil" moment. It's really realistic and mature.
NGL tho Jung is so good at gaslighting gatekeep girlbossing that he gaslit gatekeeped and girlbossed me too cause I'm still not sure whether he did cause inhos injury or not

I remember reading this in middle school and loving it so much...had to drop it for a bit tho cause waiting each week was driving me crazy lmao.
Now I'm finally in college, have gone through plenty of situations that reminded me of this(group projects and stalkers ) so I'm ready to face it with fresh eyes!!
Just thinking of reading this is making me excited wow, I really missed it :)
Also I'm procrastinating and every story is a 100 times more interesting when you are supposed to be studying

Does anyone still hate the mom or is it just me

I been reading bits of chapters but she strikes me as someone that has clear objectives and goes for them straight on, the problem comes with MC, mom kind of remember her physically? only when she see her, like mom's future plans does involve MC but she kinda doesn't see the MC in the present is like she only pictures the future. It can be because she is a Royal so judging from this context is rare for an extended time between parent and child plus mom is like the typical Fl of manhwas if you read from their point of view, as such, the child normally comes after the happy ending.
More than hating her it's kinda sad that MC considers mom's so much as the story is in her pov. I think, if the story where from mom's pov, MC would have little to none screen time.

I mean in psychology its very hard to change when your an adult because u would revert back to who you are originally cos in the first timeline she was a selfish and ambitious woman who placed her needs above the rest. I think hate is too heavy of a word to use on her, because as much as people didnāt like how she was in the past, we canāt ignore the littler efforts that she does for her daughter and since she never cared about her in the past, so what she is doing currently is considered pretty much a lot for her. You also canāt blame the little girl as she never had a standard on what a good mom is to begin with is. In life we can never get what we ideally want and just learn to appreciate what we have now i guess, no one is perfect but atleast people try to do their best in giving what they have
What I started this thinking it was completed why
