Have you been reading the same thing?? His entire aproach, everything he did and how he did it, who in their right mind would choose him?? If he was actually the good person that you make him look like trough taking these very individialised examples ed wouldnt have shunned him away

?????? He raped Ed. He has been repeatedly treating him badly for YEARS ignoring him and overall being an a-hole of a friend even before RAPING HIM and renting him as an escort. So yeah. Ed actually picked the right man. If you think that paying for the rights of a porno (which let's be real, he only payed for them because he could not phantom the idea of another men touching what he thinks is his, and other people to see it) excuses that he forced himself into Ed, homie, you need to open your eyes. Chang has been an egoistical, delusional person since the beginning, because Ed never liked him as a partner and that alone should have been enough for him to stop.

Worried about his well being??? He was only angry that Ed was in a relationship with someone who wasn't him. He had NO RIGHTS to intervene, nor to follow Ed to MC's house (who does that, come on!!), nor to meddle in a relationship that had nothing to do with him. He treated, treats and will always treat Ed as an object. Let's stop romanticising that kind of behaviour.

Omg thank you. I normally don't leave comments on this website but that post made me so angry that I had to say something. I've seen friends who had been in a similar position within their relationships and they all had their own Changs. I was so uncomfortable reading his character because it normalised his toxic and dangerous behaviour even without the raping part (which was the last drop, honestly) and I'm amazed that anyone would think that Chang was the positive, healthy relationship of the two.

unlike mcqueen who just said sorry and continued with his life, chang actually starts changing for the better and starts getting over ed, at some point he refuses to see ed (even tho all previous chapters he wouldve loved spending time with him) so its safe to assume that he will eventually forget ed and move on with his life

theres a 4 years timeskip and surprise surprise, with the previous precedent chang prolly has forgotten about ed and is doing his life but ed is still thinking of chang and not "ew chang is gross" I mean thinking thinking of him and if after 4 years you still thinking of the same guy even if youre supposed to be in a healthier relationship with a healthier man then idk chief, sounds like someone maybe just may might not have choosen correctly or maybe Im being silly, that can be true as well

He does not have second thoughts, he has stated repetitively in the last two chapters that he does not feel anything but disgust in relation to Chang. Does he still thinks about him after four years? Of course. Because he was RAPED, it is a bad memory. Chang is a bad person who deserves to be in jail for forcing himself onto a person who not only did not like him and did not want to have sex with him, but also was supposed to be his friend and a little brother (ish) to him. Also, about MC. No, I did not, in fact, forget Ryan, who is a rape victim too, only that his rapist was NOT McQueen (which you should know, if you've read the manhwa or the novel as you claim you have). McQueen was a scumbag for trying to make profit about Ryan's memories and then abandoning him when the backlash of the documentary was too much, then leaving Ryan to deal with the hate it received all alone. But he did NOT rape Ryan, and Ryan alone consented as an actor to participate in the film.

Ed did NOT consent in ANY moment, he tried to stop Chang until he was so tired and restrained that he could NOT MOVE to push him away. That's the difference. What MC did was a scumbag move, but he did not do anything ilegal. What Chang did was a CRIME and did not have Ed's consent in any moment, Ed did not enjoy it, he did not want it, he was begging Chang to stop (which he didn't) and after that horrible episode, Chang continued following him, bothering him, having him relive yet again his rape and trying to sabotage his relationship with MC, which was a relationship that Ed DID WANT and actively told Chan so.

Im gonna say it a third time but wont bother for a fourth, after 4 years ed still thinks of chang and I remember the quote having something to do with loneliness, he doesnt think "chang raped me, I hate him so much" but if you dont want to believe me theres not much I can do
idk if itll be included in this sundays extra bc I doubt jaxx will want the rape thing with chang to be the final sex scene and its been a while since glenn and ed had intercourse so Im not sure

theres a magic concept called power relationships and I agree that what glenn did does not fit the dictionary definition of rape but it sure had the same setting and the same traumatic consequences so I bet theres some people who would disagree with glenn not being one
to me the mere thought of profitting with rape and with people's dignities in general is something extremely scummy, not at the same level of rape obviously but it doesnt sit with me at all, I suppose different people have different sets of values


the rape scene is the most stupid thing in this story, I wont comment much (I dont disagree with what you wrote) on it bc it makes me cringe how someone would mess a theme so delicate in such a way but one thing that I will say is that I find funny how people totally dismiss ed sexually assaulting chang first

It’s just too late for a turnaround. He treated Ed like shit for years even if he held a love deep inside his actions hurt Ed so much he could and probably is scarred. I hold interest for Chang as a character and even supported him a little in the beginning but I can’t even look at his face in a panel without being triggered with sadness and anger. He’s too much. He’s still being overbearing after everything I can’t stand him around Ed. I just want Ed to receive affection and love now. No bullshit just love. This has been one hell of an emotional story.

Putting that aside, can I also say that both McQueen and Chang are not that great in the light we all put them to be? Both have hurt Ed (and others) in their respective ways, to which Ed has overlooked certain things and has dealt with this in his own way

Hey, that's some fair analysis! You actually managed to see the positive sides of Chang, impressive. I'm not rooting for the guy, but if Chang's approach towards Ed hadn't been rapey and assholes like, I would have been supporting that ship and Mcqueen, of course he didn't go for the good and respectful way so I'm for Mcqueen, still had Chang been better I would find it an interesting twist in how our MC ended with a different person and not the expected. Kudos to you man for seeing the positive side of people. But seriously, if the author manages to write a good enough redemption for Chang, I'd jump to his ship, since I see Chang as the type of person who does care but sadly isn't good at delivering it and ends up hurting instead, welp too bad.

That was a deep analysis man, I even realized some things I never saw or considered, but mostly I got the gist of a lot of it before, your definitely one of the few rare readers I've met to manage a breakdown and analysis of the plots, I'd definitely read any more of your analysis on any story. Keep up the fair voice of reason and perspective, cause that is a definite rare quality in an individual.

Actually the situation Chang is in is all his fault. He had feelings for Ed for a long time but instead of facing his feelings he ran away from them. But maybe u can't understand Chang, think if u r a straight man and u find out that u like a guy who thinks of u as his Older brother would u not run away? Even I, as a pansexual, won't tell my bro I like him. But that should have been fine. But Chang guy wanted to keep Ed by his side and still not show his emotions. Therefore he put up the debt thing which was his greatest fault. He couldn't be true to his own feelings and by the time he thought to be true to them everything was outta his hand. Fist experiences r many times like this. So he should get another dude.
Agin I think if Chang would have not run away and many years ago expressed his feelings maybe he and Ed would have been together. And I always thought that Chang could make Ed happier than McQueen. Maybe he did not get Ed but after this experience he is sure to be a gr8 lover.
