Absolutely zero regret in my life for starting this story .
The story is so rife with familial love that it warms my heart so much
On a side note, I am quite curious how Mabel's mom (Siana) got together with the Emperor (Evan). I mean, Evan already had Oscar with the previous Empress (Duchess Donovan). To think Siana was also close friends with Duchess Donovan.. Did she steal her best friend's husband???? (Surely it is not going to be that scandalous.. I hope..).. Did they have an affair, did he cheat, or were they already divorced when Siana and Evan fell in love? Gosh I AM SO CURIOUS!!
Hear me out, this is my headcannon, seeing how Duchess Donovan also has a soft spot for Mabel; Duchess Donovan and Siana were good enough friends that Donovan told Siana it was a no emotions contract marriage and deal is done when she births an heir and Donovan saw how Siana and Evan were getting closer, Donovan rooted for them and bowed out with grace like a girl’s girl!!
To be honest, author made grave mistake in final chapters when they decided to invalidate love that Seria felt for Callis as her mere 'fixation to cling to life or to survive' (and that it was not really love). The fact that it was love made Callis's betrayal even more real and painful like in the beginning of the story. It was unnecessary to add that plot; i.e. as if to spin the love Seria felt for Callis to be worthless.
What author-nim should have pointed out was that Seria's awareness that her love for Rouche actually ran deeper and greater. Such that it could not even be compared to Callis. Her love for Rouche transcended her current life in itself.
That piece of plot was not needed the first place. Other than this, I feel the story actually was quite well made. It was actually an enjoyable read.
you raise a great point, but i feel like the author has been building that up since the few early chapters. idk what chapter it was exactly, but something along she said about callis made it seem like she just settled for him, esp w the whole novel and villainess thing going on (her death), which matches exactly with your point. i think thats the reason why the author had to add the death thing in the beginning bc w how seira was acting (clear fascination and initial attraction to the archduke) and again, what she said, there are readers who would question on how much seira should hold the betrayal over callis' head if not for it. u can say they were still lovers and they still spent time together as such, but the story doesnt seem to want to get into that complexity and wants everything to be clear-cut.
I tried so hard to stay but starting from chapter 40 - 50 (the Berkein's family arc) was just full of fillers to be honest. And chapter 50 - 54 was just tea party. Chapter 55 onwards was Monsters arc. All fillers created merely to highlight FL's achievements. It adds absolutely NOTHING to main plot.
I'd rather see development on the original novel's plot debunk, e.g. Duke Renke retaliation and destruction, deepening romance, the kids growth etc.. Those would be much more fulfilling than the meaningless fillers. Disappointing.
Dropped the story by chapter 55. Many apologies.
( ̄へ ̄)so basically she was ugly in just about 3 chapters for us, and she was pretty for the next 130 chapters or so. Dropping this at chapter 5... I thought it would be a journey to self acceptance and improvement as she became prettier inside and out but no... Shebecame pretty w zero effort right from the get go. Meh..

Like a masterpiece from a Shounen Jump. Incredible really. Been a while since I last read anything of this quality from a webtoon at that. DEFINITELY RECOMMENDED! Downside is that it looks like this story got rather a looong way to go before we get to any ending.
