Ibelina and Alejandro warms my heart so much. Those two lovebirds! Kyaaa (author likes to put these funny reactions in).. Sad that Crown Prince Diego could not have his happily ever after, but perhaps, he chose not to, to atone for the sins of his father. 1st half of the story was actually quite heavy and gloomy, while the 2nd half of the story was lighter and fluffy. I wonder if they changed the scriptwriter.. Quite an adorable read.

Artstyle is beautiful... but a lot of drawings are spent on details that are too abstract, too many panels are focused on closeup shots where sometimes it is hard to tell where they are or what is happening, gloomy colours are often used (noir-esque).. Eventually, plot felt lost and storytelling was frustrating at times. Story wise, it left so much to be desired! Kind of disappointing how everything turned out. Not any redeeming character honestly. Sad that Prince Regef didn't have better character development.

Hell yeah!! Siegren was married into the Heylon's family. Frankly, it suits him better than carrying the imperial family name. Glad they could keep Abel's family line forward. Honestly, quite a nice story especially with real Fiona's conclusion (i.e. the heart does go on). Pacing is nice. Too much other things happening I feel like they could cut it shorter to let the romance blossoms better, but nevertheless, story is okay. Still an enjoyable read (though yes, story could have been ended earlier, it felt like too much filler sometimes).

Chapter 40 and above is where it all goes downhill. The story started so genuinely good. And yet, later development is crap.
I still cannot understand how she can forgive Priest Frey / Pray that easily. 2 minutes conversation, concluded with an accepted apology, hug and smile and jokes and yada2. What in the world.. Every wrongdoing subsequently was concluded and forgiven hastily. I have no idea why Theo needed to be tortured for 7 years while Iris was being pampered by 2 other potential lovers in her harem. All the while not realising the enemy is right under her nose all in the 7 years of searching.. I mean, talk about incompetence of those 3 brains (Iris, Frey, Ciel).. Not like they did any justice to Theo anyway. High Priest was granted swift death. And Theo had to kill himself (after 7 years of torture and FL constantly being adorned-pampered-joking around with other male suitors) to break the reincarnation cycle. Hmm what a disappointing ending for Theo. Iris is not a redeeming character at all..

I hope he will end up with a person who loves him as much as he deserves. He is so kind and gentle and romantic at heart, and it is only right that he should not be trapped in a loveless marriage with Ethela. Thank God for that. The only thing that I don't like about reverse harem (or any harem) is the fact that there will always be people with unrequited love, and that sucks so bad. Kind people like Nathan and Reuben. Hope they find happiness and love.

Oh don't get me wrong, it's a happily-ever-after ending for ML Ethelred and Maribelle. The artstyle and plots made the story felt very poignant to the point where happiness are rarely felt. Sorrow lasted longer within each chapter. For the emperor to have his happy ever after with Maribelle, countless people have to go extinct, including the last blood relatives. Quite tragic for a nation really. I had actually harboured hope that Marquiss Xavier Rodane (which I thought was also an Edenbarre but did not share the same surname) actually followed a slightly different route, but I guess, the author wanted jealousy to be his route. At the end of the story, all I'm feeling is just sadness.
I am at chapter 33 and dropping.. I don't think there is any major hurdle / breakthrough anywhere. How does this story gets to chapter 144 (honestly, what other plot is there to put in???) I will never know.. Many apologies to the author, but not my cup of tea (yes, pun intended).
Guess you'll never know unless you keep reading. What I'll say tho is that is nothing majorly life threatening like other stories
