i don’t know how accurate this is, so if anyone here watched MMA or fighting of some kind can you explain: why would jaekyung have to go through all that work to drop weight for the weigh-in when he can weigh more for the actual fight anyway? they aren’t gonna weigh him the day of the match to make sure he’s in the new weight class??
Yeah, this happens all the time in MMA and some people think it is stupid actually. The original point was why would you fight someone who is bigger and stronger than you and heavier versus someone who might be 30 to 50 pounds less. But obviously, you would have to cut the weight to be able to fight that person to be in the same weight class…. It’s usually super brutal and hard to cut the weight so quickly. So people sweat out and dehydrate themselves to drop the extra pounds to make the weight class…
Supposedly back in the day they would weigh you like the day of I think? So it was more fair. But obviously you don’t wanna be dehydrated before a fight so people tend to gain weight back. LOL.
Overall people see it as unethical to fight someone that is smaller or bigger than you, so they do their best to keep people in the same weight class.
The organizations want to make it kinda fair and the fighters want the advantage. I think there is a rule for mma at least that you can’t put more than 10 lbs from your weigh in weight. So basically orgs require it for a semblance of fairness and fighters want it for advantage coz you can play at a much heavier weight (an advantage in mma since you are harder to take down) than your opponent if you are fighting a weight class lighter than you. It’s actually very dangerous for the health but it is what it is. It’s up to the orgs.

not gonna lie, when stories have this background where the reigning queen/empress has ill feelings toward the illegitimate child…like i get it. it’s obviously not right to blatantly treat them differently because they weren’t the ones who committed the affair or adultery, but i can understand why they become angry and bitter when the king/emperor is having affairs and children left and right. even if it’s within the norm/culture.

now based on spoilers i read below, i may grow to dislike him more, but for now i don’t think he’s the WORST ML i’ve come across (cough cough Sovieshit lmfao). after reading chapter 38 it’s at least obvious he wasn’t really the problem in his last marriage, and he was honorable enough to keep up appearances with Gladys (maybe more for his sake, but it saved her reputation) and pretend her child was his. she left of her own volition and caused problems left and right because she couldn’t handle her guilt. i think he’s a harder to read character that is going through the motions of his life because of his position in the royal family.
for now it’s not enough for me to hate him, but i don’t necessarily like him either. i just kind of acknowledge his character, if that makes sense?
I wholeheartedly agree, and now that we know the backstory of his relationship with his ex wife I mean it’s fair she was basically the problem in that relationship I mean it’s not like he was abusing the kid or threaten her or he child. He gave him his name and everything but she chose to leave and go back to her hometown and hook back up with her ex (baby daddy) and he ended killing himself while she was all up in her feeling thinking about the husband she left behind then her child died and now u wanna come back and play in his face like girl （￣へ￣) that’s sad truely her behavior isn’t she deserves his treatment

i am asking for spoilers about her illness and vicente in the future!! i’ve seen plenty of spoilers about what happens between her and the duke in the future, but they don’t mention whether vicente goes with his father or if he goes with his mother after shit goes down with the rebellion. i’m also curious as to whether or not her disease still makes an appearance this time around, because no one has mentioned if she still gets sick or not.

i dont rmbr much about how her disease is cured or if it appears again but I can tell you that after the rebellion, vicente goes with his mother, and later on, the two remarry and live in fl's mother's kingdom. oh and they also have another child (it's sorta weird bc I do believe the baby and vicente will have about a 19 or 21 year age gap)
