okay so hero is 5 because thats how long shes existed. mentally and physically shes an adult and most of the time know whats goin on. im sayin most because sometimes she doesnt but thats okay and normal because other adults dont understand or catch on in some situations so thats okay.
but if i would give a guess i feel like each year shes existed she was/reached a certain stage of life or age that humans do. like year 1 she reached age of 5(if were sayin 1 year shes existed shes aged 5 years) then year two she reached the human equivalent of 10 and so on and so forth. that means since shes 5 shes 25 years old in human years.
im pretty sure mage knows this but like cant really process it and instead has been usin his magic to hide or block out his feelings towards hero. he likes her yes but he cant seem to accept that she also likes him back and i think that stems from and insecurity he obtained from before he joined the party like in childhood either because of his magic or looks or something else i dunno but thats my guess lol
i assumed they did the devils tango on a dare so i was completely caught off guard when commander said he like him but im happy that his feelings are reciprocated ^w^

so i feel the king kinda enables the crown prince to be harsh or mean towards the young prince based on the manner of speech he uses which is like all high and might like hes a god. at least thats how i feel like he speaks.. i dunno but i just dont trust the king at all
