I see some comparisons between the two and I just want to give my 2 cents. Or more like, 2839495059 cents that no one asked for lol

I feel bad for Cassiel but I don't really like Ruve even tho their situations have similarities. Cassiel truly loves Jayna but all went to sht when he was given love potion. This love potion emulates the emotions of being in love, but since it is artificial and there is no way to replicate the real emotion, it only created obssession and all extreme, negative feelings articial love can create. This resulted to all the disgusting actions Cassiel did. If he was truly sane and just fell in love with Angela realistically, I don't believe he'd harm Jayna considering the story tells he is truly a good guy.
.
.
On the other hand, Ruveliss didn't really like Aristia since childhood because he's jealous of her capabilities and the fact she has a mom's love that he wanted for himself. Spoilers said he was brainwashed and poisoned by his uncle but it wasn't like the love potion that Cassiel took where it totally changed his attitude and eventually his actions. The poison Ruveliss had the misfortune to take just amplified what is already there - that is his bitterness and jealousy. I really felt that Abandoned Empress' author was going for a redemption arc in their story but they made Ruveliss' actions TOO disgusting - rape, negligence, murder - that he became irredeemable. I was actually a bit fine if his redemption arc was done well and as long as he doesn't become Tia's love interest. But I was appalled to know they still end up together - even with Tia's traumatic memories intact.

I am actually glad that in this story, Cassiel isn't the ML. I do feel bad for him, but Jayna's mind is truly traumatized and she needs to be free from the fear that Cassiel might turn out to be the 1st timeline Cassiel.
Don't forget how disgusting Jayna's actions were because of the [spoiler]. Remember, she would get crazily incensed if anything slighted Angela & even got into a catfight with her friend & destroyed that friendship over Angela's completely onesided story about how "uwu she was so mean to me at the party & shittalked you uwu". Like, in the past timeline, she didn't even hear out her friend before attacking her....
That [spoiler] really turns people into complete Angela-obsessed yanderes...

Yes, i tottaly agree with you. Ruve was a little bitch to tia from the beginning but because in the second she started to avoid him and trying to ignore him he gotten interested. And tia gotten the same potion and she could contole her emotion the first time, and ruve could have done the same. But instead blame it on the drugs........ any i dropped that story cuz i was getting irritating with tias attitude (la muy pendeja) especially when i learned she is going to end up with that dumb prince. And i was starting to sympatize and understand jueng (the black hair girl) she got the worst outcome of all. And when she comes back for her revenge dumb tia is in the way protecting this asshole. And the guy walks a way free like the poor innocent guy whi got druged.....ughh. that was messed up.
I love how they both agree that Yechan is a baby. Cause he really is (▰˘◡˘▰)

And also, ex is there for the closure. Hint that part where he said where he's thinking of saying to ml to pursue music again, and we all know the dad's condition is either to pursue music but give up his relationship or continue his relationship but pursue something else. He's about to be ready to let Ham go. I truly believed they loved each other once upon a time, but that love burned out and instead became a burden.

In their previous life, why would she be mad at her sister just because she's sick and her sister is not? Who does she think pays the bills? Stupid enough to ask the isekai deity to let her sister reincarnate in the villain's body because she knows that has a tragedy route? Revenge for exactly what reasons? Omg all those medicinal drugs injected in her made her super crazy. I can't really understand her logic.
Spoiler thread btw:

Oh gosh, why must I suffer and see this Yuriel btch? There are so many panels for her too, it's soooo annoying. I could be in my happiest mood and just a glimpse of her will make my blood boil. Yuriel beheading when
And poor Ettsen, he truly has the most tragic backstory of them all. If this is really going to be harem route endgame, it is best for him to be excluded in it. He needs to be free from all this bs and undergo lots of therapy sessions. Ending up to be one of the princess' bois, even tho the princess has MC's soul now, is still disturbing and will be damaging to his mental health. Just let this guy have his peace, please. He has been the plot's favorite punching bag for too long.
If you're feeling uncomfortable about where this is headed that's clearly valid. But I want to clarify this, just because some continue reading this or likes reading this doesn't mean we're suddenly okay with it in real life. Some of you are rightfully disturbed but it's funny to me you think we're suddenly gonna advocate for this in real life situations. We just don't let it affect us cause at the end of the day, it's fiction.

I thought we have clarified this but for all those who are disgusted when adopted siblings get together romantically, this is not for you. Dietrich is the love interest and as far as the novel goes, they are endgame.
.
.
Tbh, I was uncomfortable as well but this is different from Beware of the Brothers where there were parental figures raising them as siblings and they really act as a family. For this story, there was no one raising them and they really have to make do with themselves, from finding food to keeping themselves alive from assassination attempts. It's like a mini hunger games in their own residence and they depend on each other, so I view their dynamics differently. Kinda similar to childhood friends thing. Anissa definitely knows Dietrich isn't his brother so she never viewed her a sibling from the very beginning, I just don't know about Dietrich lol.

Also in Asian culture, (specifically Korean) calling an older male "brother" or "oppa" is normal. Even in Filipino culture, we call slightly older men "kuya" even though we're not related. It's just a respect thing, but it really does become sketchy when translated to English lol esp because things are different in Western culture.

I got a glimpse of the comments saying how awful the MC is before reading and I was really bracing myself. But when I read it, I don't think it's that evil. It was certainly rude & uncalled for, but tbh I can relate to him because I've done a few shtty things that I still regret to this day. Things I've done esp when I was a teenager that I want to apologize for when I remember it now. I hope the MC sincerely repents & make it up to Kang Joon. The way he's lying right now is ofc the plot the author has chosen, for some angst material yadda yadda, but he's a realistic sketch of a real person and I'm looking forward to his character development
