i love the story and how their dynamic came to be because of their upbringings and hierarchy, however i still want to choke ml. hes so frustrating and sends the wrong messages ALL THE TIME then wonders why luce isn’t comfortable or genuinely happy around him. as if this mf doesn’t threaten his life, friends/loved ones, and even his own freedom if mc doesn’t tighten up??? as well as being the kingdoms slut ?? ofc he wouldn’t think the prince loves him!

if youre trying to find another webtoon like checkmate (tan) that was heavy on the psychological theme > the love between two characters, this is the one!!! it’s extremely heavy and shows the very disturbing face of obsession without hiding anything
with thriller/psych bl the characters sometimes easily fall flat because they make unrealistic decisions or characters have nothing going for them besides violent tendencies or no personality. however in this story the characters are well written, shamelessly crude, and feel very human. the expressions, speak don’t tell scenes, and build ups are all REALLY eerie and strange- even if you exclude the very explicit sa. i couldnt stop reading because every chapter left me wanting to know what would happen to mc! you can’t help but root for him and hope that despite everything, he’ll be happy in the end
