Maybe - just maybe - Mitsuhide's mental flexibility (flying princes in the vicinity playing hide-and-seek with him or generally just going AWOL) enabled him to consider this concept way beforehand ^^

You're right-it used to be included in the one shot-it's like the ending got cut off. Aoi quits being a host and they buy a convenice store and a plot of land next to it for what one day will be a ob/gyn hospital
