i feel like youd be able to sympathize and empathize with their situations to a degree if and only if you've been in a similar situation. Like- news flash: addictions are real but I'm no expert so idk to what extent does the story do these medical conditions any justice. It could be blown out of proportion?? reminds me of a documentary that aired in my country. an old man was working as a drag model and he was being interviewed while wearing what he usually wears on stage. he explained how he and his lover met when they were at the seminary, aiming to become priests. they ended up leaving to be with each other but he broke up with his lover saying he couldn't give him biological children and he believed God would never let them be. on the day of his lover's wedding his lover was at his doorstep. they layed in bed together until the guy told his lover to go to his wife. his lover now has children of his own. the old man starts crying during the interview saying he sacrificed their love because he knew his lover would never be content/happy had they stayed together
