At first, when I read the first chapters (1-2), I dropped this because it seems to me like all the other yaois with many h scenes and plotless.
Though I've read the 5 then 4 chapter today and ohh... POOR KEI, my heart was crushed by his terrible past, poor him...!! ╥﹏╥ This is rapidly escalating to a deep and sad story with so much sufferings for Kei.
Infortunately, this is not just fiction and such tragedy happens IRL, for many reasons and through many forms... Personally, I won't judge him badly, he was thrown in this universe (av, porn) because he made successive wrong decisions since left his parents (18) ; dating this old asshole of yakuza who left him to this issue was also a wrong decision... Never seeking help from outside and stay alone was also a wrong decision...
Such tragedy and hell happens when you met the worst of people, the bad people who would throw you away for any reason... Who I am to judge him ? Am I that perfect that I'd never make any wrong decision ? Am I that strong that I'd never fall even once ? Not.
The difference is that I wouldn't stay alone if I was thrown in such universe.
I think that this manga has not only purpose to disctract us, but also teaching us a lesson of life. As a teen, Kei thought he was alone and lived in a kind of boring and tough word, he wanted to escape, then left all and home but only encounter worse situations, met worse people... getting himself in debt and falling in hell and ended abandoned. I feel so sorry for him.
I really hope that those yakuzas and that jerk of av director will get the right divine punishment wherever it comes from.

I think that this BL deserve at least 9.2 or 9.5, and not only 8.2. It's actually underrated for the quality in art and story that it brings.
Never the fantasy stories were really appealing to me (and less again yaois that implies semi furry kind), though I knew immediately that I'll like this BL.
Look at the beautiful, precious and detailed art ! The so pretty covers in color, the originality of the storyline ! How could it get only this note ? While sooo many meaningless stories, look-alike scenarios, lemonesque but plotless get mooore, I don't understand ! (╯°Д °)╯╧╧
I won't even mention some pathetic comments here about "pigeon" etc, what the hell.
As an aspirant mangaka myself, this kind of comment is disappointing.
I immediately find Caihong so cute, this man bird, his plumes are admirable and his character so adorable, he's soo pretty ! The general also appears to me as a gentle man despite what we can see at first. I love all the emotions this story brings to me, as some questionings that came to us as humans. The boy bird is human, aside his wings and plumes, his legs-claws. Like all birds, he's majestuous while flying in the airs, but clumsy and deprived if chained on the ground, he's submitted to agressions.
If zhen had arms and hands + their wings, they would be angels or powerful creatures that can threaten the existence of humanity.
I hope they'll find hapiness despite all the obstacles they'll be confronted (▰˘◡˘▰)
Such an unique and emotional story. A GEM. One of my favorites of all times.
YES! I UNDERSTAND THE AWESOMENESS OF THIS MANGA!! it's original and at the same time convey a lot of feelings and emotions. Not some simple, straightforward I love you and you love me. But a kind of complicated feelings that get you entranced. Omg!!!!!

Both stories were lovely, but second was beautifully heartbreaking... A true love was born. I absolutely loved it.
So in the end, Mafuyu is with Yuki or Uecchi...? I had the sad sensation that at a moment it was more a yaoi centered on Mafuyu and his ex... Also disappointed and feel cheated that despite all his innocent looks and naïve behavior, Mafuyu hides such a past and sexual life behind him. Wasn't he supposed to be pure ? It's a nice lecture but those points disappoint me.
What? So BC this guy (Mafuyu) was in a relationship with his soulmate (who unfortunately killed himself) and had sex with him, he isn't/ wasn't pure? WTF! And what do you mean by lecture? There isn't any human being on earth who wants to experience the same shit as Mafuyu did! Don't be so naive.

If he really did love that guy, he should keep the mourning longer, and not acting like some princess, already ready to love another guy and be this easy attached to Uecchi. If that girl didn't say nothing about Mafuyu's past, and if Mafuyu didn't met bis camrade again, we would never know about Yuki or the fact that hé had sex etc... So, even if he looks pure, he's not so pure anymore. Uecchi deserves someone who really loves him.
I get what you mean because everytime it happens to me a plot about a character that loses his beloved one I feel sad for the next person that will end up with the main character. I uderstand that there is more than one love in every life and it is right this way, but I believe that in each person's life exists only one great love, so in this case I feel like Yuki was the great love of Mafuyu's life and that there will always be his shadow in the relationship between Uecchi and Mafuyu. I'd also wanted that Uecchi would have been the first for Mafuyu but it's not thins way and I accept that even if it hurts a bit, because even in real life happens to meet the right person after some wrong persons and you can't do anything about it (I don't mean that Yuki was a wrong persons for Mafuyu). Mafuyu just fall in love with a boy, he thought that they would have been together forever but Yuki died, and then he meets Uecchi and starts to feel something, but he had his experiences, what could he do about it? Nothing, because what is done is done. It's not my cup of tea but I din't know it would turned this way, even I prefer a story with one lovelife, 'cause I know that in real life this isn't possible. I hope you can understand my bad english :)

In this case, Yuki was not the wrong person, he was instead like the ideal partner for Mafuyu, it would have been easier for me to accept the whole situation if it were otherwise. Plus, for a story that should be centered on the couple Uecchi-Mafuyu, Yuki is shown too much, with even maybe more intensity than with Uecchi. They kissed, had sex... talked about sex plan... This is troublesome and confusing. At first, I really liked the character Mafuyu, his auckward and timid side... Then after, it was a pain to discover that all of this cute side was just façade... 2 images when he's with that childhood friend perfectly show him as a grown person, who perfectly knew what he lived and does. Every person who sees him like a pure maiden rose is just naive. I completely felt cheated.
It's also disappointing to not see him doing the mourning for a longer périod, but instead being just dragged like that in a new relationship like some puppet. It's painful for the new lover. Plus Uecchi is completely adorable and so honest as person.
I don't think it's a façade. People change after experiencing something hurtful, even more if is the death of your lover of that time.
Yuki is shown too much because it was a really important person to Mafuyu, and it shows how Mafuyu is slowly letting him go. Also, having sex with someone doesn't make you not pure. One can be pure even after sex, in soul, in being a good person.
And falling in love with someone, after loving someone who have died is VERY possible, and happens all the time. This manga is really realistic, and that's why I love it so much :)

Being depressed over many years is unhealthy and you won't be able to come back alive alone.

This story is all over the place and lack of sensitivity. No rereading. Never.
The introduction to this yaoi was really well written by others, so I won't add another one.
I can't or struggle to feel any compassion for the MC Dohyun for all the suffering he endures here, like the rape. He only showed a pathetic side of himself till now, always acted selfish and take; do his little affairs for his own profits without any guilty for anyone, he's a simple bastard. Maybe the events he has to live now will bring him some lights and regrets, but I don't trust in that so much knowing the personnage... I do feel more sadness and pain for Sungho, who seem he went through a lot in the past. I feel in Sungho a gentle heart, an injured soul, even though he acts with violence and coldness, I don't feel that he does this out of sadism, and Dohyun isn't a gift too (keep provoking him again and again...). We can feel how much he used, and still like the uke, and sometimes is even maybe too gentle to that bastard, providing him many pleasures, foreplays... instead of pure rape... Thought for sure, he for some reasons, holds huge grudge towards Dohyun.
It'll be interesting to know what gave him such a big scar and what happened to the 2 students in the past that ends up in this situation.
