1. Yes. Open relationship is a thing and ONLY for those who understands open relationships. Clearly it's advisable to not impose your personal beliefs upon a CONSENTED relationship system.
2. PEDOPHILIC. Not only is Ryo a middle schooler who indiscriminantly have sex with anyone who offers, did it with an adult character as well. Imaging open sexual relationships through high school characters is pedophilic and highly overestimates the maturity of developing teens.
Big concepts are better off tackled with actual mature or independent characters because they hold their own lives. It gives off that reality and drama that godforsaken students are too young to bear.
Yoshizawa's character is a blur between sadistic and manipulative. He "teases" Totoki, but it looks more like a power play of keeping Totoki in a leash. First, taking advantage of Totoki's affections by proposing a play date to test his own sexuality. Second, reverting to friendship after Totoki's reluctance to be kissed at an alley. Third, twisting the situation to make Totoki guilty. Last, dismissing conflict when he is offended or taking it out on Totoki.
Nonetheless, he did give Totoki the opportunuty to make friends, encouraged him to do academically better, and have Totoki share his burden instead of trying to take care of things on his own.
In the end, Yoshizawa's pride must be swelling while Totoki's deflates in comparison.
also, a huge shout out to Yoshizawa's friends who saw Totoki and thought of calling Yoshizawa, the police, and even an ambulance. Like, they hauled in the big guns to make sure that Totoki is safe, Totoki who they've badmouthed earlier. Like, that's the actual character development right there.
it's real. in a sense that they are written off as average humans with a spectrum of personality. we have a timid, insecure, yet honest employee who would very much love to get along with his workmates. it's not just being a people pleaser or a victim of nasty charactwrs, but also his desire be able to be himself. then we have a sex worker who is true to himself and his desires. he is impulsive and very much does things in a whim. the climax, or the confession arc occured in the most yaoi stereotypical scene yet dealt with in a natural wave of emotion:jealosy, regret, guilt, and accountability. Haru knew what he did wrong, apologized and compensated for it. and Tomo feared the sudden change and was still true to his character of confronting Haru about his feelings. it wasnt romanticized. and i am especially in love with the aftersex where Haru confessed to being imperfect and Tomo's response.
(anyway, the glasses coworker is interesting HAHAHA. i feel like he's a mediator character, the type to be the middleman and is also open-minded. i can relate to him in a sense coz he's honest to his internal opinions but also questions himself if it's right to think that way. and he's the type to stray from big confrontations outside mediating. i feel like... the quiet black haired guy and him has a little spark of chemistry )
I love the natural yet also dreamy like sequence for the first couple. like, it's realistic characters and very personal in a sense that they're both trying to connect and communicate with each other. it's not drama heavy but it's not boring either. (the respect, wholesomeness, and bliss are so romantic)
the second couple had that air of "cinematic", "poetic", and even ASMR-ish (esp the rain scenes... i can just hear it). ive seen enough Japanese films(kinda forget titles tho... my bad) to recognize how they could capture nature and delicate romance.
i can see both stories in short films. the first one being candid while the second is cinematic.
1. cornering ci nian to have a body examination
2. touching and actually planning to have sex with ci nian when their son is literally in bed with them.
3. doing all this when ci nian and wowo are still in the hospital.
he literally threw away decency and it's supposed to be sexy? ew. keep ur dick in ur pants cheng and be ashamed of borderline assaulting ci nian in the presence of ur kid. ugh. (ps, the lack of a second hole dismisses intersex theories and welcomes the dawn of the omegaverse before it even existed in this story's world).
I'm so used to the typical "slutty" look incubus has that it's so refreshing to see an incubus with an actual beastly and muscular incubus. Besides, his goal has depth to it and takes his job seriously. There's also the reality in both of the characters having the commong societal pressure which led to their own lack of independent desires.
i am in love with this!
Bullied to bully, but make it criminal. There's no balance nor interesting powerplay so it's boring. In the end, it made rapist to lover look "adorable" LMAO. the execution made it more of a romanticization of rape and "training".
A little more resistance and depth to Ryou to match Azuka would've been more interesting. Like, he just received Azuka so willingly and the best resistance portrayed is mental resistance, which eventually turns into a mushy "the fuck, did i just masturbate to him".
There was a good point in turning Ryou's assertiveness into an honest yet challenging submission that stirred Azuka.
But it didn't really last long, so it became boring again.
A sculptor fell in love his sculpture.... But it was kinda darker in mood and tone unlike this heartwarming and fluffy story.
Also, realizing how much Julius grew while Marion remained as he was ten years later is both kinda lonely and heartwarming. If Marion didn't urge Julius, Julius wouldn't have grown by the artist's side. And if Marion didn't interact with the novelist, he would've been painted over without living a life. And I'm in love with Marion's character. He practiced what he preached, not wanting to leave the world with regret.

quick paced, bland, and was that the climax? He slaps his lover for wanting to save him but leaves the offenders unscathed? lol he should've at least knocked Shou out and leave a hole on Kunei's body.
