So...ever since I found out that there’s confirmation of the drama version of Heaven’s Official Blessing, I’ve been scouring the directory of **** *** for who I think would look good as Hualian.
Xie Lian: Song Jiyang
Huang Chang: Jeremy Tsui (visually, he’s got the perfect stare with a bit of makeup magic)

I wonder how many times Lan Zhan calls out Wei Ying’s name.
Every time I read it, I read it with his voice from the Untamed and Didi’s face pops up. Sigh. In the Untamed, I’m glad that they didn’t use color contacts for the people with unusual eyes lol.

Hmm...that would be hot. But when the camera is up close, for me, seeing the outline of the contacts would have ruined it for me. I understand the effect but in a wuxia or fantasy setting, I like the realism to be a bit more natural. BUT! I would have preferred colored contacts over CGI/movie magic editing lol

I like this....the absurdity of these extremities of the psychopathic yet somehow fascinatingly mother flippin male lead and the steel spine female lead. I love this game of who will kill who first. Female lead is like...the living dead whereas male lead is just a wretched grim reaper. I wouldn’t mind the “ship them as a couple” had the male lead been strictly an abusive, shady rich guy. I can get past that because, after all, it is a fictional story that portrays a life unalike and will never be possible in our life. The realism of this story, thus far, is low but I like that the author is exploring the extreme harshness of human nature.
Ofc there are other webtoons, manhuas, mangas and whatnot that share similar themes or concepts of this dominant vs submissive thingy....but I don’t mind this so far. I’m rooting for female lead-ish. But as another commentator said before, she could’ve just gave male lead a kiss at the end of that New Year’s countdown and dropped both of them off the roof. But whatever. Hopefully it updates soon. Look forward to it. Yuan Ze, female lead’s now ex-husband, is uselessly precious but unnecessary. Glad he’s out of the picture FOR NOW. Now, female lead can get her three-year long assassination plan started. Let’s go!!!!

But I can’t find a good version of an English translated version of this manhua. If anyone has a link, I’d appreciate it.
Now let me tell you what I think about the preceding events thus far. XYA reminds me of Wei Wuxian from MDZS. Both oblivious to the pair of striking eyes that’d followed them everywhere. YHQ reminds me of Lan Zhan in the way that they’re bound by their own rules/lifestyle/limitations on what they can’t or should say. YHQ should confess, and we would love for him to say so genuinely, but he just can’t in these circumstances especially when XYA finds him unbelievable and a traitor. If YHQ were to confess now then their relationship would certainly sever unless XYA can overcome his dilemma of the original storyline not being laid out properly. As one commentator stated before, when will Xiao Yu An realize that he’s in a yaoi story? Oh, make that a historical yaoi, tragic-love story.
Sigh...I’m disappointed but I’m also relieved of the last few chapters so far. There’s more to this story and I’m sure it’s just about to get real good. I need to find time to read the novel. Anyone who has, spoil for me below. I’m one of those selfish readers who ENJOYS spoilers
; )

Mnhmm...yes...these silent film pieces...Magically, there’s a somber melody yearning for a voice to lace through its tantalizing notes fumbling down the bridges of love, angst, and the state of tediously and uselessly mending the wrong pieces into one. What kind of song will season two bring? I look forward to it!
