so it'll be interesting how both of them will try to be one step ahead of the other. while obviously, the psycho bf is gonna be on top of the secrets and run the show for a while, i hope we gradually get moments where FL catches him with a show of her inherent ruthlessness too
my interest usually drops by 50% when the misunderstandings are resolved/the MCs get together, but it's occasional stories like these that keep it interesting after the established relationship that i really like

i love how you'd be an idiot to rule out either the ML as a one-sided evil incarnate with puritanism brainrot or the FL as some girlbossing survivor; they're so much more than that. it would be such a disservice to the story. i adore that they superimpose both main leads' character arcs against the lives of the bourgeoisie, the commoners, the poor, the soldiers... truly, even the extras are nuanced. like yes yessss give me the tearjerkers, give me love lost and unforgivable transgressions and the complex growth they'd have to go through before clawing their way back to each other. i LIVE for the drama
