love this route of ML going 'haha yes i am a player and a two-faced psychopath who doesn't do relationships and hate clingy people... except why won't you return my calls and texts and talk to me and look at me and pay attention to me and why are you smiling at other people and not me and... and oh my god i have become that which i despise'
the only other webtoon i can recall rn is DJ Alex so i guess i better start a list...

the list. help a homie out by suggesting any webtoon BLs you come across w/the same themes

like you know how they make a really, really good execution of a popular trope at the first season and bring in the fans, it goes viral, lots of revenue etc. However, the plot soon comes nearer to it's natural conclusion. The writers are then faced with a choice- do I end this cleanly, in a concise manner, staying true to the theme and initial characters, and lose my source of engagement and revenue but keeping the integrity of the show?
OR do I wing it and cram ALL the cliche misunderstanding tropes I can think of to keep extending the episodes, making it into this gargantuan mess of relationships that hardly resembles what i had initially set out to write, and in turn alienate my old fanbase BUT ensure i keep making cash with the new suckers who bite because of the hype i got for the 1st few episodes?
and sadly, 90% of writers always pick the latter.

i know it's a common hypnotism/mindbreak trope where the hypnotee subconsciously starts to respond to the hypnotist sexually even while not under hypnosis, but by god i eat it up every time.
also i'm like placing my bets on potential angsty/more fucked up scenarios where MC starts returning the stepbrother's 'affection' and the stepbrother gets more desperate to cover up the hypnotism the closer they get until he ultimately breaks and goes full psycho when the mc inevitably finds out too late.
i was like... in grade school or something. and the family dynamics was so insane to me lmao. it's been more than 2 decades and it still feels like the first time i'm reading it :')
