eyyyy the morgan freeman one? my baby sitter and i used to watch that weekly years ago! (which she definitely wasn't supposed to let me watch) dang, that's nostalgic. it really is similar. but it's more detective POV-ish and there's some poetic morbidity to a disillusioned priest rather than just a joker-wannabe. still good tho...might consider rewatching.

tsunderes are only palatable when their dere is vulnerable, sincere, and double their tsun. he isn't. he's always acting reluctant and 'too cool for this' when his partner is putting himself out there and trying to be straightforward.

I can see where you are coming from. For me, I don't mind it. I actually imagine the narrator having a same voice as the the English dub of Hetalia's narrator.

I think it's because the manga tried to replicate the witty narrator everyone loved in the novel!! It's more awkward in the manga, but you'll probably learn to love it later.
