I’ve always found it weird when a couple in omegaverse gets together and then immediately becomes a pair. Like, that’s a life long commitment and sure, of course they love each other, but dating for a couple years before becoming a pair seems more logical. For the same reasons they make similar products for vajaja. To generate the lubrification effects, you have to stimulate that part : that's the natural process which is self-sufficient. In some cases, it might be tricky to generate such ideal "moisturizing" from stimuli. Thus the lube that makes you skip the natural process. The lube is not necessary, it is efficient.
It's marketing too. Some come with nice flavor (?), scent, sensation-triggers and even aphrodisiac. So ways to set the mood.

This was actually a surprisingly well-rounded story. The progression felt very natural and not rushed (considering it was only 10 chapters). The fact that the 4 characters all got to shine in different ways was great! They were all pretty unique and you could really tell that they all served the story in different, but important ways. The nonchalant attitude towards being gay whilst simultaneously having anxiety about your sexuality and worrying about what others think of you and your friends felt very natural.
It’s honestly a great BL for newer and avid readers of the genre alike ヾ(❀╹◡╹)ﾉ~
