Why can't we have more of heroines like MELISSA THE BITCH QUEEN?
(Beware Of The Villainess)ヾ(☆▽☆)
My top recommendations: The Pet Of The Villainess + The Lady's Butler. (⌒▽⌒)
Other stories where the FL does not return to her shitty ex:
I Want to Be You, Just For A Day, Anyone can be a Villainess, I don't love anymore, Daisy - How to Become the Duke's Fiancée, The Duchess With An Empty Soul, Tensei-saki de Suterareta Node, Mofumofu-tachi to Oryouri Shimasu ~ Okazari Ouhi wa My Pace ni Saikyou Desu, I’ll Just Live on as a Villainess and Remarried Empress (Feel sorry for Trashta because she is an uneducated stupid desperate abused slave)
I recently read "The Lady Wants To Rest" both novel and webtoon and I appreciate now more that Melissa is not the typical most unappreciated beautiful and kind girl in the world type who has to be considerated of any etiquettes, norms or societal rules.
She is in control and is not so clumsy that she has to get saved at the last minute.
If Melissa were like Rubia she would get stalked by all these obsessive MLs who are so attracted/attached to her because she is so fairylike beautiful + her cool bad girl attitude.
Despite being a 1000 years old soul with many experiencse Rubia's power is for the sake of the plot convenience and the superiority of the ML(s) quite restricted.
She is sometimes a damsel.
I have the same problem with "The Villain Daughter Enjoys Her Seventh Life as a Free-Spirited Bride (Hostage) in a Former Enemy Country". The black haired ML suddenly out of nowhere due to fate becomes interested in the FL in her 7th life, she gets easily swayed by him and is automatically inferior than him despite her multi talents. He also killed her when she was disguised as a male knight. To be fair, she attacked him first, but still...
The black haired prince always gets impressed by the talented not like the other girls type FL and wants her no matter what. NO and boundaries are no options.
I think Melissa is the only FL so far who successfully says directly FUCK OFF to any prince.
Right? In addition to Melissa, Yona isn’t the typical maid in these stories either. I love that she’s not blindly adoring the FL and following her every command because “omg she’s so kind, beautiful, and knows best! I’ll serve her forever” She actually has a unique personality and acts like a servant who’s just trying to get her bag like most servants who choose to serve rich families.
You really hit the nail right on the head!
Trope: The very devoted naive thankful subservient maid who is either very innocent, weak or biased before she is won over by the FL.
And let's not forget the former slave turned obsessive ML candidate.
She usually doesn't have a life on her own... She is just enthusiastic follower and cheerleader.
Kill the Villainess, A Silent Garden, The Lady Wants To Rest, Iris - Lady With a Smartphone, Sincerely: I Became a Duke’s Maid or I was Reincarnated, and now I'm a maid (Sometimes the Maid is the MC but is a very delicate pushover) etc .
Even Bakarina's personal maid Anne Sherry only lives for her... Tragic backstory and being saved by the MC/Villainess.
What do you think of the Maid MC in "This Corrupt World's "Normal" Is Difficult"?
The reincarnated good girl Villainess has become so oversaturated just like the isekai stories about incel otakus or generic depressive salarymens.
Melissa and Yona are so rare and unique.
There are also other reincarnated stories that I would call very progressive/nuanced:
The Pet Of The Villainess, The Lady's Butler, The Stereotypical Life of a Reincarnated Lady and Tearmoon Empire Story.
I would say the MC in "The Way to Protect the Female Lead's Older Brother" is an unusual bloody badass.
I ve read the translated novel and the prince keeps stalking her no matter what she does or says to him.
It became so absurd and stupid that he became automatically more and more obsessed with her. "I want her I want her I want her...."
The deer boy is the son of the emperor who killed her and her past comrades in her previous life.
She saves that asshole (operation disease) because of the deer boy...
And her ML is superior than her because he has the only power to break her curse and kill gods/deities... Is practically a chosen one.
Every three of them don't accept NO from her and keeps bothering her...
Yes, she is a Mary Sue who can only be saved by the ML...
Yes. It is actually obvious just looking at the visuals.
The black haired emotionally unavaible cold overpowered tsundere with a dark sad past.
And it is an already overused trope: The boyfriend, the fiance or husband refuse a separation either due illogical thinking, sudden toxic love or due to a complicated big scheme...
Even though we have kinda a bitch trash mary sue but at least she is very active, goes on the offense and is not forgiving to those who are actually brutal assholes.
I guess this story is currently "my trash".
I mean I am starting to get frustrated that many other reincarnated MCs before her are often everyone's target by evil snakes + obsessive MLs and gets unwillingly involved in conspiracies, no matter what they do...
These girls have to put up with everything and always gets saved at the last minute....
A Silent Garden, Duchess of the Glass House, I Just Want to be a Useless Duke's Daughter, Please Throw Me Away, When The Villainess Loves, Wish to Say Farewell etc...
I understand that she does not want to stay in this fantasy world as Eris for good reasons but I dislike the fact that she loves her parents that pretty much neglected/ignored her in favour of her brother.
She lived very poorly and didn't have much money for herself. Her mom took away whatever she got and she was just left with 10,000 won as pocket money. She often felt jealous of other kids whose parents bought them whatever they wished. Her parents are not the nicest people and she had a really shitty life, yet she wants to go back to them.
Copied from NovelUpdate Spoiler:
"It's been a few days. I'm doing what I've decided in the world one by one. I wanted to quit my job right away, but I got to work a little longer due to the transition problem.
I also went to my parents. I went and drank a drink and confessed that I was upset and sad.
My parents comforted me, but that didn't mean they understood me. I felt that... it wasn't much different from a quick soothe before being told to be patient.
They haven't changed. I decided to convince myself that there are some things in the world that cannot be accomplished with effort alone."
Now it is true that I find logical flaws in the story:
1) The prince kills an important aristocrat (MC) within the political circle of his country to marry a fallen aristocrat Helena (stripped of his lands and titles), I would see dangerous reactions:blobhero: from the aristocracy in power, which even the emperor wanted to unite (crown / aristocracy) with marriage
2. If the emperor is so cruel that he killed his own son and wanted if or if that marriage I would see logical that he will kill Helena I do not understand why he does not do it, he does not even have appreciation for the empress.
3) In the delicate state of the empress who even conspired against the emperor, what the hell has it in her mind to match her son with someone without political, military, and much less monetary power to help her get out of the emperor's hands
The MC is a lost princess victim priveledged with special hidden abilities or given a magical blessing (again) and the evil brother-in-law is very much queer coded....
And we all know the FL won't be left alone at all, no matter what she does...

Orientalism and Isekai titles are actually stupid
