ok so... i was just laughing and wheezing so much until the backstory started ( ̄ε ̄)
but isn't it crazy to think that if girlie (the mc, whose name i've already forgotten) died when she fell off the cliff, then the emperor's wife would've somehow survived and live that assassination attempt?
from the old man's words, it seems like it was implied that mc and the consort's fate was somehow intertwined and one of them was bound to some tragedy. but since the consort died first, the mc lived instead.
if the mc is the one who died, the consort would've lived and our emperor wouldn't be like this. there will be no marriage band either.
but the interrogation officer would've married the wrong girl instead.
maaaaaa, that's crazy

I initially liked it. I really like these type of stories where the mc wakes up in the body of the villainess and gets their redemption or something like that, it's fun to read how the story will unfold and diverse from what is supposed to be the original storyline.
But this one, ehhh, I feel conflicted about several things. First, I think they should've just kept MC's original disease, and it was for her to find a cure for it. That would have been a great plot to follow instead and you have these male leads helping you. I feel like the author just got rid of the illness all in all to be convenient, it just didn't feel natural to me.
That being said, I feel bad for the male leads. They're expressing their worry and concern about this girl whom they thought was 'dying' because of a rare illness that supposedly doesn't have a well-known cure. When in fact, she's fine and dandy, doesn't even feel pain (aside from coughing blood, I guess) so she doesn't have to take the pain killers she was given. Which makes sense, but is otherwise seen different in the male leads' eyes. Lol, what's up with that.
What they gonna do when they found out she wouldn't die that young? Be mad and felt like they were tricked? Or feel relieved? If it was the latter, it wouldn't have made sense.
If they felt confused at first, betrayed then felt relieved she didn't have to die, I guess that's fair. But if they just accepted it like that and didn't demand explanation, that's a total...??? No matter how much love you had for the person, if you you were told they're dying and boom, surprise it's a prank, you would feel a bit of ehh :/ as well, right? (Or was that just me?)
Also, I hate that the moment they learned that this girl is dying because of a rare disease, they start pitying her and treating her like a normal being. I understand she's a villain, cold and 'not kind' but wth? From what I remember, the white haired guy haven't met this girl before (even the sorcerer guy, I presume) but they just decided she's not kind and a villain because of the rumors. And meeting her, knowing she's dying, they thought she deserved to be treated well?? Maaaaa, that's some fuckery right there lmao.
Like, yeah, I get it, they're supposed to pity her, realize she's not like the rumors (because duh, that's a different person inside) but the pity bait here is soooo over the top, it's ridiculous
I know a manga that did pity baiting good, like amazingly good (I forgot the title lol, but the mc has purple-ish hair, it's a really tragic story). At least in that sense, she was a real villain, she did what villains do but the male leads were starting to know her, slowly and slowly, until they understand what drove her to villainry(?), which is kind of their fault as well. See, that's a great pity bait. A great way to push your pity agenda to your character, not giving them a disease on the surface, make them fine in general but have this handsome doods flock around her just because she's frail and fragile.
I might sound real salty there but I do like this. The art is fantastic, the characters just didn't do it for me.
this what happens when you leave your children unattended
They goin' wild and all you can do is sigh lol
lowkey hoping charlotte would sit her desciples one chapter and just go all out on disciplining all of them lmao
