I think some readers have to understand the fact that Seungho is by no means a perfect, moral character nor does he pretend to be one. He is a twisted, antagonistic anti-hero that conforms to the 'All nobles are right and commoners are slaves' system at the time. He's slowly sinking into the pit of denial then probably despair, because he's slowly in love with Nakyum, a commoner which means he will be no less than a fallen laughingstock bringing shame to his name, and the endless obstacles ahead. Such a character like him is destined to not have a happy end unless Nakyum recipocrates, with Seungho's understanding that to have this happy ending, he has to abandon everything to be with Nakyum.
So I don't get the disappointment from people. Are you expecting him to be a good seme? If I want that, I'll just read other works. There's a good trail of character development here, and just because Seungho doesn't fit your stereotypical seme mold doesn't mean he deserves the insults to his character. He doesn't pretend to be good, he never WAS good, and he'll continue to sink deeper as he loves, and that's precisely where the tension of the series is, because the more he loves, the higher the stakes, the more he WILL lash out because of this unless he comes to terms with it: he is in love with a COMMONER. Such a warped character like this, if you have problems with him, then maybe this story isn't really for you.

I only slightly disagree with this.
We know that he's never been a good person, but that still doesn't exempt him from judgement of the readers. The things he does at times are wrong and readers are entitled to saying that, that's usually why the author includes stuff like this and has cliffhangers. It does cross a line when the readers attack the author for it, or compare Seungho to other semes in manhwa

After this chapter, I came to realize that this manga has a problem with drawing characters with their correct ages. I was waiting for the Emperor to show up; ALL of Marie's interactions with him were laced with tension, ping pong back forth action and the Emperor always portrays a regal, cold majestic air.
Seeing him drawn looking like a teenager made me speechless in so many ways, I don't know how to react.

I was reading all the comments and I found that the uke seems to cause a polarizing reaction? Do people here love and hate him? I heard there was a huge uproar in the early days, something about abandoning Byul and trying to be an alpha? Pardon if I'm wrong, as I haven't read much of the series yet.

I mean the author made him hard to like loll but she also makes such good stories you can't help but keep reading. I like him better than some of her other uke's but I'm kind of on the fence and am just ambivalent now. I really didn't like the second couple in her other series. I could understand Hyesoo but I think he needs a lot of therapy to be a nicer person lol

Yay new chapter! Always nice to see more Leon. Btw, it's not reverse harem. :D
SPOILERS
Just to summarize, in this chapter, being acquaintances at best, Leonhart basically regards Marie as a 'princess of the nation' that he has full respect for, rather than her personal self, which others are more familiar with. He completely sees her as a little child right now, but one who is beginning to continuously surprise him with her bouts of bravery and boldness, rather than a sheltered princess he probably thought her to be. This scene isn't really meant to be a 'shipping' scene, but more of laying the grounds for the gradual change of their relationship (from kid princess to a woman Leon will eventually swear undying loyalty for.)
On the other hand, I'm sorry to say Princess Marie won't even consider other guys at all - she'll hammer it home with her love for Leon (probably due to the pain of what she thinks is a hopeless, unrequited love) Despite this, don't worry, it doesn't stop her ascend to be a princess of a caliber other nations will take notice of. It's not just a fluffy shoujo story after all, she's going to have her whole life mapped out with adventures and such, so don't drop the series even if you don't agree with the pairing! ;)

He's not doing it just to marry randomly. By marrying her, he can fully protect her with his full powers as king. No one would dare to question her authority, because her rank would be ABOVE all who tries to use her. She will have the full backing of the noble king. EVEN HER FAMILY CANT TOUCH HER, even though they are related by blood. She has to be shielded from not only her family but the demonic forces, so alliances like this marriage is perfect. I have no idea why people keep asking how old he is when this is medieval times, and marriage is used for political gains. You only have to read The Stepmother's Marchen where the MC is half the Marchion's age and yet they had a father daughter bond despite being married ffs, and she used her title as marchioness to protect his children, who are only slightly younger than her, and their inheritance after he died. Don't apply modern morals to medieval times.
As a Leon fan, this moment makes me fucking squee. Even if he looks way younger than my headcanon version of his novel self. Even if HER DAD, the EMPEROR, still looks fifteen. Even if EVERYONE looks younger than they should. I unabashedly ship them and I don't care what anyone thinks of that. More moments, please.
Same! I dunno why they hate the ship tho, its not like she's going to marry him in instant. She just want to be closer to her fav chara, I'm sure she will grow up first before the romance happen (づ ̄ ³ ̄)づ
