I'm coming from omegacomplex,I saw a comment mentioning that they read the novel for alpha trauma and weren't a fan of dohyuns personality change. So I'm curious if his personality has changed for the better or for the worse? I mean I wasn't the biggest fan of him in omega complex ,so if he's very annoying or toxic here then I might reconsider reading this. In the same lane,I want to ask if this is worth reading ,like is it better or worse than omega complex?
if you didn't like him in omega complex, you'll like him here LOL that's what happened to me and from what I saw, other people that also didn't like him; he's not toxic and idk how people literally mischaracterize him so bad when it's really easy to understand him from the novel; I recommend reading it, it's so good! And the manhwa is great as well!; ofc every manhwa has its bit of angst but this one is honestly not that bad! They're really cute and he treats wooyeon very very well and I like alpha trauma wayy better than omega complex bc I feel like omega complex was fluff and slice of life but this goes kinda deeper in terms of plot, the characters, and the relationship buildup! Let me know what you think!
um he's a little dumb but he really does like the mc he just feels guilty about two things so he feels like he shouldn't like him but it's really not bad, and as for the groveling arc he didn't do anything too too bad to warrant such an intense chasing arc, and there was a misunderstanding anyways, but he does clear it up and apologize and work to redeem him to mc- you should read it and the novel too it's cute overall and he's not a bad person
Imagine if the roles were reversed. A woman is affected by a curse which requires her to be intimate with a guy she doesn't like and that guy likes her so he's happy to take advantage of the situation to touch her. Also the guy is the only one who can see the missions so the woman would never know if he's truly telling the truth or trying to take advantage of the situation. The woman has made it clear that she has no intention to reciprocate the guy's feeling but the guy keeps intruding her personal space . Can it truly be considered consent when the woman is in a predicament where she cant say no because of a curse coz if naos had a choice,he wouldn't have never let pania touch him.The lastest chapter was especially icky, imagine that the guy knows that the woman is incredibly uncomfortable with the situation but makes it worse for her as an act of revenge for not reciprocating his feelings and is even enjoying it. Even if you try to justify it saying that naos likes pania but doesn't realise it,it's still icky that she enjoys situations where she gets to be intimate with despite knowing that hes uncomfortable with it. Just because she likes him doesn't mean that she entitled to him reciprocating her feelings and even if he has feelings for her, if he doesn't want to be in a relationship then he has every right to choose not be in a relationship. Its interesting that people were only uncomfortable when naos continued to fuck her after the mission ended but were never uncomfortable with the number of times he had to be intimate with pania despite not wanting to. I know that pania is not a bad person and that she and naos are endgame but I felt that i had to mention this after seeing so many people hate on naos .
Glad to see I'm not the only one who feels this way, I thought that my comment would be downvoted alot by pania supporters but I still wanted to post it coz I feel it's ridiculous that naos gets hated on for enforcing his boundaries while pania repeatedly crosses his boundaries all while pretending that she's doing it for his sake.. If he was a woman ,he would have been praised for standing his ground and everyone would have thought that pania is sleazy and pushy.
Thanks for bringing up this perspective! Never thought about this in his pov and now I feel kinda sad for him!
But I don't know if I think she's exacly taking advantage of him - not in every situation, at least... I mean, she's even lost her virginity and keeps constantly puting herself in extremely vulnerable situations to help him too...
Idk, I'm not a Pania's supporter or anything, just trying to put myself in her shoes here... I think the author's trying to state that she probably likes this situations better than him bcuz it's her crush after all, but his reluctance makes me feel like If I was him that would be my nightmare
Yeah I do acknowledge that pania is not taking undue advantage of naos and that the author probably doesnt realise that the situation is quite icky from naos pov. Its just sometimes feels like she often disregards his discomfort coz she's too excited at the prospect of touching him. That's what made me realise how unfair this situation is for naos. Honestly if the genders were reversed, this would be a typical male gaze pornwha, where the girl is forced to be intimate with a guy until eventually the pleasure gets to her head and she falls in love . Of course ,this manhwa is nowhere as gross or extreme as that but im sure that people wouldnt have enjoyed this story as much if naos was a woman. I know that this is a light hearted series ,so there no need for me to read into it so much but I especially feel the need to highlight the unfair dynamic coz I feel there's a huge double standard when it comes to ml's, everyone expects ml's to always do whatever the fls wants and don't expect them to have any autonomy of their own. That's why so many people have been hating on naos for being 'rude' when all he's doing upholding his boundaries and not letting her have false hope.
I mean just coz it's smut doesn't mean we need to turn our brains off while reading it. Just coz it's smut doesn't mean that we as readers can't have any semblance of intelligent or meaningful conversations about it. Seriously for any smut out there,if there's even the smallest hint of dubcon or noncon, you'll see bunch of comments talking about it and no one asks them why are they analyzing the ethics of smut.So I don't understand how is me pointing out a problematic theme in this manhwa somehow seen as something unnecessary, especially when it's something that no one seems to be talking about. Having conversations whether it be praise, critique or sharing your opinions is a part of consuming media. I'm not above reading stuff with problematic themes,I've read my fair share of toxic romances but for me, it's important to understand and acknowledge that it's problematic, not just turn my brain off and gloss over it.
I mean, some of Naos behaviors are, indeed, rude - if I'm not mistaken I remember he's known for being quite a jerk -, which is why I understand people's hatred towards him and his attitudes with Pania, specially because needs her to deal with the curse.
But, as I said, I never really thought about his perspective in this whole situation and I probably would have if the roles were reversed (I tend to put myself in women's shoes more easily). So I'm glad someone's talking about this anyway! I try not to do it but often hold some double standards myself.
How's the reaction to this among korean readers coz I'm assuming that author is going to care more about korean readers opinions than international readers opinion? It's pretty obvious that international fans absolutely hate the current development and I'm sure they're bombarding the authors Twitter expressing their dislike. Are korean readers responding better to what happening to the plot? That's the only way I can rationalize the author insistently ruining their story like this.
Now I'm even more confused. The ratings have tanked and dohwa stans are the only saving grace for the author but theyve made it clear that they have no intention of showing any development between suae and dohwa nor are they trying to salvage the situation by making eunhyuk apologize. For whom is the author even writing this story for anymore? I can only imagine that they intended to end it but their publisher wanted them to drag it on longer so out of spite they're ruining the story.
Can anyone recommend anything similar to this?
Hey there again girly, saw your comment on my timeline, this one is still ongoing.
LMK if you like it, uke is a shifter wildcat is super sassy and confident. And the tiger sifter seme loves cats. So same similar vibes as this manhwa.

Am I the only one who can't stand his friend. There's no reason for her to allow him to be so disrespectful to her and justify it by saying that he cares lot abt his friend that's why he's mean to her. Its especially annoying considering that she's the one who's putting most amount of effort into the relationship and is constantly accommodating senpais wishes ,yet his friend is shaming her for not being good enough.
I'm so nervous for when she'll confess to him since we know from the prolouge that he rejects her .i honestly believe that there'll be a timeskip and all these school portions are setting the stage for how these 2 know eachother and it's only after the time skip where their relationship will actually progress.
How long before fl discovers the truth and what's her reaction? Also most importantly, how does the ml grovel for forgiveness?
ive read the novel (from a korean site then just google translated everything) I was around chapter 100+ and she's still far from finding out he's her husband. i was already out of chapters back then and i was losing my mind. read from a pirate site just to avoid the cliff hanger and ive just brought myself for an even worse cliff hanger there. atp, im just going to hold out with this manhwa and hope that it catches up until she knows the truth lol
Yeah. As far as I've read that is. If I remember correctly, I was at around chapter 111 and it was one of the last chapters available.ml had a fake corpse to show fl that her husband was already dead, but fl finds out that the corpse was fake....no signs of her finding out in the plot that the ml here is her real husband so this is going to be a very long ride
I remember coming across the novel for this years back and didn't read it coz all the reviews were talking about how insufferable the fl is. That she becomes worse as the story progresses and that the ml deserves better. So I'm curious, how faithful is the manhwa to the novel? I imagine they've made the fl less annoying considering that the manhwa is very well received or is it that the manhwa hasn't reached the part where she becomes insufferable?
I found out that 1 scene has been changed, the part where they are eating hotpot and the niece calls him for help. In the novel, the fl didn't know it was a car accident and thought that the niece is just throwing a tantrum so she makes it obvious to the ml that she'll be very upset if he goes to help his niece out unlike the manhwa where she tells him that she'll wait for him. It seems like it rubbed ppl the wrong way seeing her guilt trip him. Also from the reviews, seems like they really dislike the fl's behavior after they get back together after the breakup, apparently she makes a lot of unreasonable demands towards the ml like she wants him to bring her a gift everytime he picks her up and wants him to essentially change his whole personality. Again I don't know the context behind the demands, she could very well not be serious or upset with him and is just teasing him . Also honestly, I sometimes find the ml to be too aloof and would love to see him be more expressive with his words.
Not sure about the novel but in the drama, she is mostly teasing him about getting gifts. Like she jokes about not getting gifts for all the holidays they missed while they were broken up and is surprised when he takes it seriously and sends her a bunch of stuff.
Yea the ML really doesn’t use his words enough. He’s more of the type to show his feelings through his actions.
I also think that in general people tend to not like stories where it's the fl who pursues the ml and prefer seeing mls grovel for forgiveness than the fls groveling for forgiveness. People seem to forget that shi yan has many times been mean to the fl and that she would have never tolerated him if it weren't for her motive. That's how he was even able to fall for her coz she always lets him have his way. If this was a story where the fl was genuinely chasing after shi yan, people wouldn't have liked shi yan as much since he's so cold to her.
I get that but in this case it’s quite different. Based from what I’ve seen in the comments here and in other sites, during their fight, they want Shuyi to chase, grovel and ask for Shi yan’s forgiveness which was insane to me because he knew that she had ulterior motives from the start. Both of them didn’t expect to fall in love and be hurt by it. I find that readers only want a ml to grovel if he purposely hurt the fl like Bjorn in The Problematic Prince or Bryce in the book Flipped. But if the ml is likeable, handsome and first to fall in love, just like here and another example would be Rudrik in Just the Male Lead’s Friend, readers tend to favor mls and be over critical of fls.
In shi yan's defense, hes more upset that her ulterior motive as to do with her ex than he is at using used.To him it probably felt like she used him to make her ex jealous,I don't think he would have been as upset if she was using him for money instead. But i feel the same way that it's a bit unfair that the entirety of the mamhwa is spent with shuyi having to always appease shi yan. Eventhough she did something wrong and should face the consequences, it does suck having to read her always putting her head down for shi yan. I think the reason why I'm more lenitent to shuyi is coz of the power imbalance in their relationship. He can so easily have her blacklisted and the only way she could stand up for herself is if shi yan lets her. Shi yan has acted mean to her before and has never once apologized,he instead teases her and she forgots abt it.
I've actually read doujins of this manhwa and decided I want to read the original,so I'm confused why everyone seems to hate nathan? In the doujins,he seemed loving but the comments here seem to imply that he's a red flag. So please spoil me coz I can't stand red flag ml's and have a very low angst tolerance.
Ngl ...it's been so long that I can't remember well
But Nathan and Andrew were on some kind of relationship after they know each other on the plane...the "problem" was that Andrew is a "virgen" and never said anything cause was afraid of Nathan ending things if he discovered that...they do other staffs and when finally N knows everything he's gets angry with A for all the lies and "break up" with him saying he should do the things his own pace and shouldn't feel pressure to do things "for him" (actually a good advice!!) and something like he cannot be so dependent or something like that (again...a good advice!) and after A was following around uni he asked him to move on and forgets him

I wish the mc showed the ml the same level of attitude he has towards the brown hair dude instead of letting the ml walk all over him.
same but the seme forces him to do several things with him once you’re in a place like that with someone the power dynamic is hard to change. i just wish we got those flashback scenes to see how their dynamic was in high school
Agreed, I'm beyond curious to know the entire history of their high school time together. Maybe that's yet to come, one can hope.
i’ve been wishing for it ever since we got the first flashbacks i’m struggling to wanna keep reading if we’re js gonna get pointless drama
