Okay I haven't really stared reading yet, but-
"It was God's wish for beasts and humans to copulate" ?
God sounds like an absolute freak
God sounds like he needs to delete some browser history before he catches some allegations
God sounds like a fan of a certain man whose name rhymes with Crane Bawson

Anywho, can't wait to get to the story lol, just thought that was a really uh. . . interesting way to put that

Right!! I read the story and its good but even I questioned "GODS" Thinking. It kinda explained why we have furries and mentally deranged humans who do absurd things.

This is probably projection, but this definitely feels a little poly
The lack of boundaries between the two couples especially when it comes to sex and intimacy really just give me polyamorous vibes

    Heu77 November 19, 2023 2:50 am

I thought it was by the cover but it wasn’t. They’re two couples but are good friends ig.

    Heu77 November 19, 2023 2:50 am

And idk about poly cause two of them are siblings.

And idk about poly cause two of them are siblings. Heu77

Im actively ignoring that fact :')
This author seems to have a weird thing about cucking siblings or pseudo incest or however you might call it
I started another of their stories after finishing this one and was more shocked than I had a right to be to encounter the same thing but worse

And, yeah I know they aren't actually poly, just that as a poly person, I liked the dynamic of the really close friendship that breeched boundaries that a normal friendship wouldn't. I've had romantic relationships in the past that were physical and emotionally intimate but not sexual, even though that person was sexually active with another partner.

I did say it was probably projection for a reason, because I'm both polyamorous and aro-spec so boundaries between friendship and romance look quite blurry to me, so especially a close friendship like this between couples where they are so openly intimate with their respective partners in front of each other (plus the fact that doing it in front of the the others seems to add to the feelings of excitement or intimacy in a lot of ways)
Again all of it feels very poly-dynamic ish but it's probably just me

Unfortunately you now have my thinking about dating in relation to my sibling (because I have a couple that are also polyamorous)

I could never date someone who is also in a relationship with or is interested in one of my siblings. But if I had a partner, who was interested in my sibling's partner I might be okay with them having a relationship and still being involved. But i could also see that easily being a situation where I would feel like I could no longer be involved in that relationship because the idea of sharing a dating pool with one of my siblings sounds uncomfortable to say the least

This is a weird thing that I've never had to think about and kind of wish I never did.

Yeah saw your other reply to me and agreed! I personally would never have sex in the same room as my brother and his partner, it’s just weird and a turn off. Imagine being in a poly relationship with your brother? It has happened in real life so I’m not exactly surprised but still disgusting.

Waaiitt so the baby is still only 1 year old and she's in classes?? I assumed they time skipped until she was a couple years cuz they said she's in classes but for reference, most one year olds are still breast feeding, some manage to say one or two words consistently, and only really understand simple words like "no" and "bye-bye" or terms like "mom" and "dad"
What kind of "classes" is this baby a part of and why aren't you parenting you child?

(To be clear, it's not really a criticism of the fictional characters, more just a question of why the author felt the need to make this baby like a huge thing at the end and through the pregnancy only to actually just throw the whole baby away. I'm still enjoying the story ofc, I just have to shake my head over this lol)

    iamb November 17, 2023 3:39 pm

True, most one year old humans are working through their physical milestones, but also true that it's unusual for royalty or even higher classes to completely 'parent' their children. sadly...

I guess it's true that it's a little more historically accurate this way, but the main couple's whole dynamic is definitely not of the time
So this isn't really a period piece or even really historical fiction, it's fantasy that's referencing a vague time period for little more than aesthetics
Which is totally cool, just that now the argument of "realistically, historically, or traditionally royalty did so and so" isn't really supported because the author has the capability and is currently ignoring all that in favor of the kind of story and the kind of relationship they want to write
But what it comes down to is it's the authors story, so what happens isn't up to the audience. However, the audience will still feel disappointment and express distaste when confronted with what looks like a dropped plot or dropped character, especially when it comes to this baby, because the main story's big conclusions was the pregnancy, which would make you think that this baby was a big deal. Instead the focus was just the pregnancy and the baby was just a discarded byproduct.

I'm sorry this was long and probably came off more argumentative than I intended, I just have a lot of thoughts and your comment inspired even more.
I swear, I've written a whole essay about this baby in the comments at this point and every chapter I just feel an obsessive compulsion to write another

haha, I understand, and agree with some of your points. It's a funny coincidence tho that I have recently had a very similar discussion in a comment section for Asian dramas. Because I have to rebut the part where you say this isn't a period piece or historical fiction.. Because that's just what it is. Here's a snipped quote from Studiobinder dot com when discussing what a period piece is. " Westerns, comedies, thrillers, action, and horror films can all be period pieces. The period piece as a genre is defined by the setting, not the story." So Dracula can be a period piece, and it's not historically accurate , and it is a fantasy, but it is a period piece. The same with 'historical', it's something that is portrayed in the style, or based as a certain time in the past in relationship to the present... So it's not farfetched, to me, that the author uses some devices from the past to create an 'historical' type story, while not sticking rigidly to facts. I mean, the FL's character's village had powers, it's clear this isn't based on a real historical time or story. I only responded to you in that first post based on your reaction that this story wasn't adhering to reality. Interesting discussion:)

Hi, I'm an aro-spec individual
(For me this just means I relate to different aspects of multiple identities on the aromantic spectrum)
Personally, I find Fukami really relatable and even if he's not labeled as aromantic, he still feels like good representation and where the story is at right now feels like a great example of how relationships don't have to look or feel like traditional romance to be happy and fulfilling

Going forward, they might start doing romantic things and their relationship might develop in a more traditional romance kinda way, but as and aro person, I still enjoy doing a lot of romantic things so I feel like it wouldn't necessarily change how I feel about this subject, because aro people can totally have dedicated relationships and do romantic things and still be aromantic

Its different for everyone which I think makes it really cool to talk about, but I just hope I made some sense while rambling here ( ;^ ^)>

I guess that's what it means to get involved with Dohyeok... his greedy ass destroys everything in all his attempts to get it.

Tbh if my business, my subordinates' safety, and even my parents and their business are being threatened by a spoiled rich asshole... there's really no way to keep my cool. I think it's time Siwoo gets assistance from Jiwoon.

Wtf are these translations lol
But aside from the weird "baby"s, "dude"s, and "man"s thrown onto the end of every other sentence, the rest of the text is just really hard to follow

    Lucien November 8, 2023 10:12 pm

seriously, it's kinda weird and gave me whiplash because they started suddenly being thrown. it made me wonder if in the raws its like that (yknow weird other world, might have diff talking habits) and the other translators cut it out or smthn.

The cleaning even looks decent, it's just these awful translations TT

Turnip November 6, 2023 1:53 pm

Okay I know a lot of people are confused and frustrated by the plot but honestly, this is one of the best things I've ever read. I love when the main character is entangled with the very lore of the foundation of the world they live in, and it's even better that she's still a child (just because age-up time skips can feel like a cop out when writers no longer know how to write a child handling the situations they want to write). And the fact that she might even become like the new god of this world?? 10 outa 10, this feeds the god complex fantasy I've had since I was a child
And I actually really love how this is written here at (I assume) the end, even though it's making most readers confused, its almost like the world setting is abstracting before my eyes as we see these gods fighting, both with impossibly opposing positions
And I think a lot of things are vague and confusing on purpose, or at least to the benefit of the story's presentation since I think it would be so easy for this confrontation to fall flat and just seem like silly mortals squabbling instead of the profound, age old battle that's shaped the dynamic of this world finally experiencing significant progression and hopefully closure soon as all the pieces start to fall into place

So yeah, I know it's definitely not everyone's cup of tea, especially at this point where everything is kind of abstracting, but it's definitely mine and I just think it's really cool :>
(Ngl, still think they way they cut her bangs is a tragedy tho)

No no 100% agree with you. Although it is confusing but I really like when you said that the world setting is abstracting before my eyes. Like it’s unfolding before our eyes. I usually wait a few chapter releases so I don’t get too confused but still end up wanting more information which makes the book more and more interesting.

But let's not forget that outside the realm of fiction, and adult (23) raping and sexually manipulating a teenager (he could be as young as 16, but I assume he's 17) is really sick and illegal for a reason
Also, something that's probably more relevant to the average person - a sexually manipulative partner is a sexually abusive partner, and sexual and domestic abuse only escalates over time. While it makes sense in fiction, it's delusional to believe that you can change an abusive partner so you should always prioritize your safety and get out of there as soon as safely possible
