Yeah, the grey hair guy is annoying but there's something seriously wrong with his sisters -- you fuck up one brother so you fuck the other one up in a different way?
The way it showed them tearing him down seemed like it could have actually been kind of emotionally abusive at times (but I digress)

i cant hate them too much for it because theyre like 20-30 raising a kid in place of their mom.

    Truuuuue
    Parentification was the first crime

Idk if felt pretty realistic to me, author was spot on

On the surface it seems really fluffy (or like it's supposed to be fluffy) but Aiden gives me seriously off vibes . . .
Like everything he does seems soooo exploitative, like textbook manipulation and exploitation of someone vulnerable and naive.

Especially when they started thinking about sex and Seowon tries to educate himself on gay sex before jumping in but Aiden tells him not to anymore (and anyone who knows anything about sex ed knows that it's way easier to sexually abuse someone who is ignorant). And then when having sex, they talked about taking it slow but that's not at all what happened, even when Seowon was saying that it hurt or looked to be genuinely having problems breathing, Aiden just kept pushing (and at one point I think he said something about being turned on by him being in pain but the translation wasn't super clear so idk, plus the classic "I won't stop even if it hurts" line that I despise, especially in this scenario where the seme seems serious and the uke actually has a life threatening medical condition)

He pushes and pushes but still pulls back when it seems he's gone to far which seems reassuring to the audience and Seowon, but it's only after he's already pushed too far and that seems like a huge red flag to me

And even before all that, waiting to come out until they were already isolated? and then how started putting moves on Seowon (rather forcefully imo) before he even properly revealed he had feelings for him, coupled with Seowon's super naive thoughts and justifications despite his initial discomfort . . .?
Idk it all seems so icky on paper but is somehow swept away by the fluffy atmosphere.

Also the way he's had this crush on him since so young could be sweet but saying he's wanted to sleep with him since they first met seems soooo weird, especially when literally the first time Aiden saw him, he was in his most weak and vulnerable state, which is a weird thing to be attracted to, especially when it was made clear that he was attracted to him in a "less than wholesome" way

I'm probably reading too much into it, cuz I really do want this to be a fluffy and sweet story, but so much of it sounds way to similar to every story I've heard of covert sexual exploitation

    Turnip July 13, 2024 11:21 pm

So basically, either the author is a GENIUS writer and and Aiden is actually a covert, sexually exploitative predator
Or the author is kinda basic and is just relying on preexisting romance tropes that are inherently predatory but are romanticized in fiction (which wouldn't be terrible, because I'm seriously starving for fluff rn T.T)

Reading this has re-sparked my MapleStory hyperfixation T﹏T

The braincell count is negative with this one

Damn I hope he actually says committed to that and that the seme actually changes -u-
(Doubt)

I actually started crying when Kueng got upset ToT
He's so precious . . My heart- (っ; ﹏ ;)っ

Turnip May 6, 2024 11:36 pm

That execution was rough imo . . .
I mean I'm glad they didn't drag it out super long
But idk it's probably just me but I wanted a little more emotional pay off after so much build up
Like . . . It was essentially building up to this reunion since the moment Jaewoo died (or even before then ever since he made the deal to die). This is supposed to be the big moment that wraps up that whole emotionally heavy arc but there's no emotional release, they're just back to being all casual, smiley, and blushy like nothing even happened
it feels like they all are acting like it's no big deal and just moved on really fast

    ijiwarumochi May 7, 2024 12:33 am

i agree with you. they want to keep it short and on point, but it was like abrupt and the pacing is weird when ppl said they found out about jaewoo fast, i didnt think it would be this fast....i feel like it didnt settle right with me. they should have make the identity reveal as a big history moment of the story, not just casual cut panel moment like that sheesh

Turnip April 26, 2024 9:43 am

This author has a special skill for making manga that goes from super cute to wtf so fast, I keep getting whiplash istg
I mean like, there'll be a cute, genuine moment and then suddenly seme is squishing the uke's toes ???(or sexually assaulting him while drunk . . . at least the toes thing was funny)

They also seem to consistently make their protagonists unable to blame or properly hold the person who caused their "big-past-trauma" accountable

    Tooru August 13, 2024 5:38 am

Yes fr!! The only consistent work so far is their Fox x Omega story. I have yet to hate the seme there
