So the dad does in fact love the mc
And when he gave her the knife, did he actually mean kill yourself? or did he mean survive any way you can, fight tooth and nail, I’ll come get you soon? Aka an uprising?
The girl she sent the letter to actually likes the mc, despite the mc believing she got in her way/ made thing difficult for her, thanks to the novel.
And for how the novel claimed she “mistreated” her maids the worst that’s been shown is she broke stuff, and it’s not like the things she broke were thrown at them. They warmed up to her pretty quickly, so it’s unlikely they were abused by her.
The mc stated that she didn’t finish the novel, and to the readers it’s been proved that the novel has been untrustworthy source of info.
So my theory is the novels ending is actually a villains redemption arc, when the novels villain stabbed herself her father and Alex caused an uprising and win, spreading the truth about what truly happened how the daughter was a victim in the previous kings conspiracy
The prince the original “villainess” loved only went out with her because, one, he liked the attention (cause he a little bitch) and two, it was the under the order of the king as a way to control the duke.
The duke loves his daughter and wanted her to be happy so he let the king control him.
But the prince fell in love with someone new and the king couldn’t throw away such a valuable pawn, so he set it up so it would look like the new princess was poisoned by the “villainess” and he could then send her to prison, completely under his control.
Father finally decides he ain’t taking the kings shit and joins Alexs uprising, giving his daughter a knife and telling her to survive any way she can.
Alex goes to tell her a message of the uprising under the disguise of “torture” because he can’t stand out towards the kings guards.
The “villainess” misunderstands believing she’s been abandoned, and believing she’s about to be tortured thus stabs herself
Alex screams at her to stop but it’s too late, nothing holding the father back, both him and Alex become twisted on revenge and succeeded in the uprising.
BAM reincarnation
That’s my theory of the original story ending what do y’all think?

They should never be together, and I still find it hilarious that the emperor said this was the only way to get him since he belonged to his kingdom, MY GUY WASNT THE REAL PRINCE AND YOU RUINED THE CHANCE OF ACTUALLY BEING TOGETHER!
The mcs plan (if this sliver haired dick head didn’t imprison him) was to get back the real crown princes younger brother, probably leading the country until the younger brother is fit to rule, and then stepping down to live with the silver haired emperor who he fell in love with while they shared the struggle of getting his country back.
Now that is impossible
And he can never love you.
Now it should end with the mc being helped by the neighbouring kingdom they are in an alliance with, and the mc kill the white haired emperor with his own hands
The old switcharoo
