For once, I find a good MC but what the hell is this plot????
The lack of bloodshed on enemy territory is appalling. How hard could it be to kill Paris, kill the aunt, poison the dad through one of his concubines and take the throne for yourself without marrying another contender for the crown???? Like bruh I know the black hair kid is going to be the second ml but marrying someone in the line of throne means diminishing your own chances as a woman for the throne. No matter how much of Apollo's blood is in you no one will follow a leader who is stupid and a liability. If her goal was survival her actions make sense but she means to covet the throne why the fuck is she giving it away to the archduke kid. And what? She told him to not cover the throne for himself??? Like what can she even do if he does. I was cringing so fucking hard when she was teaching him everything. All she has is her fucking wit and brains. This plot is so ridiculous I'm livid. It just keeps going on and on. Fucking insane how there is no closure in sight

The duke is literally known to be a cutthroat killer but does not kill his wife's molester, ok fine you can say killing a Count heir could pose problems even if killing that indolent bastard shouldn't be that hard since he does half the work on his own but whatever. He doesn't even kill the sister who's appearance at the jousting tournament could not only pose problem for his wife but his family too. He knows how creepy the king is and would do anything to have a hold of his weakness but he doesn't kill the sister. WHY
Then there is the cousin. He could have in no way not known that bitch is cuckoo. Not only does practically behave like a hooker in front of him he clearly finds her annoying but just agrees to whatever.

And what would you have done if you are in her place?? Hmmm??? "USE YOUR BRAIN?" GOSSHHH. Literally, she was born a daughter of a maid/slave with no education nor safety in their lives. The environment in itself is dangerous for her! We're so lucky her character is not like someone who is foolish, manipulated and deluded.

Though I admit there is no follow-up revenge after what the MC and her mother have been through, but there is KARMA I see. It's getting darker for every Count's family's and I pretty look forward to them. And OF COURSE I DON'T WANT TO SEE THEM DEAD BUT TO SUFFERRR.

The instance with the brother or the carriage has nothing to do with women's rights or her upbringing. It's almost like she literally doesn't have any survival instincts. Usually people would make an effort to you know avoid being in the same room as their abuser or at least keep someone in the room with them bcs you know susceptible danger, that's what I would have done. The carriage incident was so fucking predictable. All her enemies are in position of power to do something like that. Again no one but her maid was with her. She can literally afford bodyguards and isn't the duchess usually supposed to be accompanied by knights???? I don't fucking understand the logic behind how some of these characters operate
Honestly, I didn't have much expectations for this. Assumed it was going to be like the other child mc novels where you are stuck with a Mary Sue adult who is literally pedobait (cough cough Castillo and the archmage one) while Athy has her fair share of issues, the author dealt with it relatively ok. I will never understand how Athy is able to read thought provoking theoretical philosophy books on academic level yet fail to put two and two together when it comes to her own philosophical issues but I digress. Despite her issues, Athy was enjoyable to read and follow.
The main character here is obviously Claude. Talk about a closet full of skeletons. He is like the only other parent besides Regis from father I don't want this marriage, whom I'm willing to forgive for child neglect. The other ones are just terrible and low hanging fruit misunderstandings you as a reader are stuck with as the MC forgives bcs "papa loves me now" urgh. Absolutely abhor the abandoned MC trope with a burning passion but it was handled fairly well here.
I could go on and on about the forced romance between Athy and the male love interests but meh I didn't read this for the romance rather the complex family dynamics in the royal family. This novel is a very good example of why you don't fucking need to like the characters to enjoy flawed characters. The author dealt with that nicely.
Should have just open ended when Claude woke up bcs frankly, I don't understand why did the romance between Athy and Lucas/Iziekiel moved from friends to lovers and turned into confession to developing into a relationship as if the previous relationship development does not exist. I fucking can't stand love triangles like these. There is absolutely no fucking chemistry anymore. I'd rather have a prologue on Claude and Diana bcs I'm ready to ugly sob some more.

I agree sm, like these girls have the weakest personalities all because they wanna avoid being the "villainess". But they always get reborn before the old villainess has done anything worthy of death so avoiding all the problems they cause is so easy.
