In so many mangas women are pitted against each other for tension, I like how they followed that trope here but broke it by them resolving the misunderstanding and making them friends. It's similar to how it is in real life, people might make you think that another woman is your "enemy" when she's not. Female friendship is so important and I like stories that convey that.

I don't get the hate towards the FL? She's handling the situation pretty well. She has no experience with the wilderness but she keeps relatively calm and moves forward. Not immediately trusting the guy makes sense, even if he saved her, she doesn't know why he did or who he is. Besides, distrust and occasional clumsiness serves to show how she progress later. Both in their relationship and her survival. She's an office worker, not Indiana Jones. Not freaking out completely is already pretty good.

Idk, I think many good fantasy stories have realistic characters. Even if they can shoot laser beams out of their eyes or whatever, they feel sad, stressed and scared in certain situations and that's what makes me sympathize with them. Ofc, sometimes unrealistic characters can be really fun as well, but I usually don't get as emotionally invested in them.
It's nice to finally hear a story where someone who gave up the life they knew and their immortality for love, broke up. That was so refreshing and somehow relatable. If this fictive granny can move on so can I.
