Kiss me, Liar

This is actually a pretty well-done Omegaverse BL. I've read several, but this one manages to balance the ABO concept with the unrequited love between a secretary and his boss pretty well. There isn't too much smut so far, and the emotions are running high in this. The male lead is not completely useless, and he has a convincing portrayal of a mental disorder which doesn't totally make light of his trauma. I hope it continues to be this promising in later chapters. The art is fine as well. Update: It becomes very meh later on. Lost all its potential and became a standard mediocre BL.

Eh. Mediocre BL that's thankfully really short, so even if you read it, it's not a huge waste of time. There's literally no plot. It's a vampire who rapes his assassin after breaking some weird curse, but then they both fall in love after sex that one time. I'm glad that's over with. I can't even imagine how crappy it would have been if it was longer. Characters have zero dimension because they just have sex and stuff. The art is alright, about average for a webtoon. It's nothing special though. The assassin's body proportions especially are out of whack to satisfy fujoshis who love men with huge chests that are physically impossible, I personally hate it. Skip.

Tiger Flower

Male lead returns cat, only to be raped by a tiger demon. That escalated quickly. Not much in terms of plot or novelty, besides the supernatural tilt. The male lead is useless and just lets the tiger monster do whatever he wants. Lots of smut. The coworker is a useless character with no personality, but that goes for everyone else here. Art is average.

The cat and rabbit are so cute~ A great palate cleaner to read. I'm surprised the rabbit eats meat though, aren't they herbivores?

A ditzy, high-energy girl has a one night stand with an introverted guy who works part time as a costumed mascot, but it turns out they're classmates. They fall in love too quickly, in my opinion. The girl gets on my nerves, she's so stupid but everyone says she's the top student, what? Also, she's from a privileged family, so she is of a different social class from the male love interest. I don't know how the two of them will get along for a long-term relationship. I like the artwork a lot, it's very pleasing to read through, even if it's not the best art for a webtoon. Update: It doesn't get better, I honestly didn't care for this couple after several chapters of them arguing and whatnot, and then they magically work out their differences. It's just unrealistic. This couple wouldn't work out in real life at all, since their backgrounds are way too dissimilar, and personalities are completely incompatible. The girl has no motivation outside of chasing the male lead everywhere, like she has no life of her own to live, while the male lead just works all the time to save money. I've seen my fair share of real married couples divorce over money issues, and it's obvious that the webtoon is just pretending like this isn't a serious problem here. Update 2: Thank god it's over. I read the overly long author's photo essay, and that just confirmed why Yuna is a failure of a character. It's obvious that not much thought was put into her, and she just came out of nowhere as the author let go of all their worries. She's not a breakthrough female archetype, because this bubbly, stupid happy-go-lucky little girl as the lead character is overdone in the shoujo genre. It's even more problematic when you know that the author initially wanted the main character of Yuna to be a male, because they're more comfortable making a false male character over a female one, where they'd face criticism. That just goes to show you that the gender of this character isn't important at it, it's the whole concept of it. That's why growth was completely impossible for Yuna, regardless of whether she had been male or female, since there was no intent to develop an organic, multi-dimensional person. And to have to explain that in so many words tells me this author doesn't know what they're doing. Hopefully, they can produce something better next time, but this particular one was a failure.

Not much going on yet, but so far, time stops at 11 P.M., and the male lead can move, as well as a serial killer, while everyone else is frozen. It's not clear if time stops everyday, or every so often, because I think it would be obvious that time isn't moving, if this is a daily occurrence. But maybe the male lead is just super oblivious? The killer already knows where the male lead lives, so he's going to need to move out of his apartment. I find it hard to believe that the killer was able to track him down so easily like this. There is a lack of proper character development, so I don't care what happens to the male lead, even if he gets killed. The suspense and thriller element is somewhat lacking.

No real sex scenes yet, but it's probably getting there. Still, it escalated really fast. The male lead gets lost in a mountain, and is rescued by the same wolf demon who saved him when he was a child, and they start feeling each other up. Weird as hell. The art is drawn in a very simplistic style, and while it's relatively easy to read through, I feel it's somewhat lacking. Perhaps it's the panelling and color palettes that make it feel a little subpar.

Promotional chapter only for now, to announce new series. Translation is awful, not very interested in the presented plot currently, since it doesn't seem to be special. It also doesn't offer any real set-up, besides that there will be drama and isekai. The art is not too bad. Hopefully, the translation will be better when the series starts. Update: The chapters released so far are interesting. It looks like modern China with some sort of magic system that has diplomatic relations with the West. Hoping the worldbuilding is expanded upon properly. Update #2: I'm really starting to like this series. It reminds me a bit of "Your Throne" with two strong female leads who have different personalities. Hopefully, it keeps up with the good work.

The art for the female lead is really good most of the time, but the art for all the other characters is kind of ehhhhh. Seems they put extra effort in polishing her up. Unfortunately, it doesn't really make her any more likeable. She's stupid, thinking it will be easy to find her lover immediately after entering a new realm (I don't know how the realms work, but there's no way she can find him that easily, like come on, use your brain a bit) and promptly is captured by a rival sect leader while also getting almost all her own sect disciples killed. Wow. Worst protagonist ever. She seems really shallow and weak too, even though there was lots of fluff to pretend that she's stronger than she actually is. The lore and backstory isn't explained well, so I don't know exactly why she's doing all this. Execution is poor overall.

I Gave Birth To A Murderer's Child

Yeahhhhh, not a fan of this webtoon. I don't see how she's a strong female lead. Her plans are dumb and she has no real agency. She doesn't want to get married, so she goes to sleep with some random dude with the intention of getting pregnant. How exactly does that make her a strong character? She's just using her body to temporarily avoid her fate. Pregnancy is only 9 months, she could easily be sold into slavery or something during or after that period of time, and it's basically what happens. Not to mention it's pretty hard to get pregnant ok, like what is this plan, how do you know you'll get pregnant 100% after just one night? She doesn't even come up with some better plan during the time she's pregnant! I hate it when female characters in fiction do such stupid crap like randomly sleeping with men to get out of something like marriage because that makes them lose their dignity and self-respect in my eyes. Like you couldn't have figured out some other plan for your situation besides sleeping around? In the real world, there's also STDs and stuff you need to worry about, I feel like this kind of trope in fiction is getting out of hand, because it doesn't give females a portrayal in good light, and it's toxic for this idea, if it were to be applied in the real world. Basically, you're just confirming to other males out there that you have zero shame and are willing to do anything for the right price. This is honestly worse than those forced marriage turns into love webtoons, of which there are tons out there. I hope that this particular webtoon/fiction of one night stands to escape from reality doesn't take hold in mainstream media, for the sake of girls everywhere. Furthermore, she sleeps with a random guy, and after giving birth to the child, her wretched father makes her marry some other dude. But this time, she agrees to it. Why?! Why is it ok for you to marry the second guy, but not the first one, huh? And don't tell me that's because the first guy she was supposed to marry is a pervert, because the second guy is supposedly a murderer, her father said so himself. Unless in this world, murderers are better than perverts. I don't know anymore. The child is supposed to be three years old, but honestly, he seems to be 5-7 years old. He talks far too eloquently for a 3 year old, so I'm not buying that crap either. Author needs to work on believability, but then again, that was tossed out the window with the sleeping around to get pregnant plot in the first chapter. And I thought the child was a girl, but nope, apparently he's a boy. Alright then. I'm not saying boys shouldn't have long hair, but he totally looks like a girl. I sure do hope that aspect of his character is actually supposed to be important later on, because otherwise, I don't see why he couldn't have been drawn with shorter hair or been born as a girl instead. The art is alright, but honestly, I'm so mad about everything else, I can't enjoy the only somewhat redeeming part of this webtoon. The male lead is pretty average, and the female lead obviously had more effort put into her design, since it shows.
