Veil
Definitely drawn and written by someone who has done art design (either adverts or fashion). It reminds me so much of Readers Digest Condensed illustrations especially the collections from the pre-1990 hardcovers. I love the way Kotteri imparts her story: incredibly minimal dialogues and through the first thing we see; the art.
Nobunaga No Chef
【 40 】 It's just a cooking/gourmet manga, some may say. And yet, our main lead's life is hanging in the balance with every seasoning and ingredient he adds. The tension in each cooking frame can be felt from the pages.
Rugby Rumble
【 ends at 67 】 The manga dodged a couple of tropes, characterization wise. One being the brothers' relationship (you just had to love them); the other being how the injured character actually gets benched from the very beginning . Neither was it kept a secret nor did he play regardless of the injury and worsening it in the process.
Assassin no Kyuujitsu
Wholesome...sort of. Our main character is one so taciturn he'd never deign to speak to anybody. He'd sooner knit, bake or bathe a dog than pick up a phone call. Mr Villain's Day Off feat. killer-for-hire.
