That's right its a story full of typical nonsense drama, cliché non-communication, and giving up on love supposedly for the sake of the other.

What bothers me is that they're clichés and sterotypes, that are constantly being reinforced. As if it is somehow noble and good to give up on someone else's behalf, without even knowing that's what they want. Its a martyr complex that can end up causing both parties pain.

So yeah, I get this is a story, I just wish for once there was actually more basis for the misunderstanding, and less obviously assumptions being made.

Yep but with more basis to the misunderstanding won't make it that interesting. Its a yaoi of course there'll be cliches just like how there's a lot more in our life. They have reasonable explanations and reasons for their actions. I'm just glad that this wasn't a total cliche since the uke did keep his word from trying as much as he can to stay away from the seme. It was always the seme that approached most of the time the uke just gets clingy half way into the story and its annoying.

This seems something a bit different from the norm. Unusual art style, and slightly bit unusual characters and story too. Makes a nice change.

Insomnia is an English comic (so it's not a manga)
    https://m.tapastic.com/series/Insomnia-
Read it for free here, while supporting the artist!

It makes me sad and angry that this artist is missing out on 22k views since its posted here (probably more if it's on other sites)

There's not doubt this is one fire-cracker hot yaoi erotic fantasy. But, except for Tomoya, I can't really say that I care much for the other 2. That's a bit of a turn-off. I would have liked this a great deal more if there was just something likable about one, if not both Keigo and Tasei.

    Lady P0ny May 4, 2016 8:33 pm

nice point of view. I agree with you, only Tomoya has my empathy.

    Anonymous May 5, 2016 1:40 am

Ehh I'm finding it hard to feel sympathetic towards Tomoya. While Keigo IS a slut, Tomoya chose to insert himself into Keigo's relationship with customer-san, and thus made himself the third-wheel.

This is fun and enjoyable, and of course not in the least bit real. If it was that Grandmom would obviously have been suffering from more than a few mental loose screws, due to trauma, and brainwashed her grandson. Ergo making all this quite twisted. So let's all leave reality by the roadside, and enjoy yaoi fantasy. :)

But please keep updating....

So we get more sex...

But what I wanted and really needed was something from Keiichi other than statements about how Shingo belonged to him, i.e. ownership. Some emotional reciprocity. Not being able to admit your feelings or show vulnerability to one you love and supposedly trust, is just weak.

Has the the chance for Keiichi to redeem himself gone? Has he metaphorically missed the boat?

    Venus May 3, 2016 3:49 am

First I dont think Keiichi needs to redeem himself since it was Shingo who broke with him (cruelly if you ask me) and had some cuestionable behaviour as well on this volume (more than Keiichis). Second Keichii has already proved his love since he made a weding ring for Shingo which leds to the closure that he wants to spend the rest of his life with Shingo.

Though I feel everything has already been said on this from both sides, I'll try to explain how I see it. They are BOTH at fault. In the earlier vols. I often felt Shingo's indecisiveness and attitudes about relationships (though understandable) to be the greater fault in the relationship dynamics. Even though Keiichi has never been perfect, as he's overly- possesive and dominant, gets jealous over nothing, but he had a kinder and gentler side, and could also speak of love (which is why so many know that Keiichi really loves Shingo, he said so earlier), which helped balance it out. Besides in some ways Shingo needed that possesiveness to lay his fears of abandonment to rest. But that was in the earlier vols.

This vol has Shingo settling in to the relationship and then Keiichi doing everything he can to make Shingo insecure, including suddenly announcing that he is leaving him (remember he has abandonment issues) for over 6 months in 2 days, and oh yeah he's been thinking about it for 2 weeks. As to a ring, if you order a present for a good friend only to find out the next day that they slept with your someone, you do what you can to cancel the order. If it still get delivered, what should your friend believe, that what actually was said between you breaking off all relations was real, or the gift that you aren't personally giving represents how you now feel? And why is there only 1 ring? Wedding rings come in pairs.

If Keiichi at the reunion had acted as he used to in the earlier vols., showing some of that more gentler loving side, then yes he would have at least reminded a lot ppl of why so many like him despite his faults.

Its been a while, but 2 out of 3 of the scanlating groups that did ch. 1 & 2 are still active, so there's hope that we may see more. I would really like to see this have it's happy ending. Too many unfinished projects out there.

Amberwaves April 24, 2016 12:31 pm

Made this observation originally as reply elsewhere, but thought I would repeat it as a general topic. :)

I have noticed a split in comments: Those who are just happy that they are reunited and don't care about the HOW, and those who are upset because the HOW of the reunion was all wrong and ruined it.

I belong to the 2nd group. The basis of a relationship matters, so the HOW matters.

This doen't seem to be an improvement at all. Shingo is going from having commitment issues to now having dependency issues, and Keiichi seems to have learnt nothing whatsoever at all. I was hoping for character growth from both of them. Not this. One owner and pet. At least that's the way it seems to me.

This seems to be a story arc misspent, and the mangaka could have done sooo much with it.

And for pete's sake, enough of the 'bullying the one you love' trope; its true to some extent (especially with children), but it isn't meant to rationalize outright bullying as a form of love.

Amberwaves April 21, 2016 10:52 pm

This manga hasn't been updated since 2012, and the group scanlating hasn't been active since Oct. 2015. While not impossible, its highly improbable we'll be seeing more. Too bad as this was good and different.

Like most comments here reflect, the art wasn't the best. What did surprise me was the story. At first it seemed somewhat cheesy, and in danger of being a 'Potter' wannabe, but then evolved into something of it's own. By the latest update I was really into it, and enjoying that it was something different from the usual, despite the art, which you get used to after a while.
