I can't tell you how impressed I am with this manhwa so far. I mean the art is already beautiful and melancholy (and have you seen them thicc asses omg help), but the story is what really sold me. Let's just say it ain't the most predictable and man it's painfully good at exploring toxic dynamics.

The thing that really got me is how the mafia boss and the hyung totally developed in a different direction. Don't get me wrong I never truly trusted the hyung since he literally raped Suyoung in the beginning but he did seem remorseful and honestly I expected them to grow into a less close but healing relationship. NOPE.

HYUNG IS FUCKING BATSHIT AND I LOVE IT.

Let me tell you, it ain't the usual lazy writing you get with abusive relationships in yaoi, the author makes sure to believably show how much Suyoung and his hyung's relationship spiraled into something twisted. I love how the author still keeps the hyung in character by taking positive parts of his personality and warping them into something sinister.

It was quite heartbreaking to see that they had such a long history and friendship together only for it to be sabotaged by the hardships of adult life and the complications of romance. Hyung went from this very nurturing mentor to a pretty unhinged possessive lover while still trying to act like the older brother who knows best, like he can't handle the idea of Suyoung rejecting his love/support.

This is speculation but he seems only satisfied w/ having Suyoung be dependent on him and maybe that's a controlling part of his personality that's always existed but never really manifested until he started clapping them cheeks. I mean the hyung would use the same words he did back then to try to bring Suyoung's walls down, but this time he did it while he abused him..with such a dark undertone. It's a chilling dynamic to read. Almost too real with the domestic abuse, I felt a lot of emotions I tell you.

Then you have the mafia dude who is by no means an angel yet manages to be the better choice. I love how he becomes more human as he gets to know Suyoung and how, even though he is more powerful, he doesn't always have the upper hand with Suyoung. Even from the beginning Suyoung was bucking at this nigga, it was very different from how he is with his hyung, he's clearly not afraid to fight for respect and equal ground w/ the mafia dude. The juicy power struggle is still there at times but it feels more equal and it's so refreshing to see the bottom have so much more agency with the "dangerous mafia seme" type for once.

And again, the mafia dude shows more humanity and actually develops into more than an abusive, arrogant, and hyper-masculine top that you often get with mafia "semes". Mafia dude actually starts to respect him a little when Suyoung punched him (which was hilarious) and he softens up and empathizes with Suyoung /before/ he does something irredeemable (like, say, full on rape?). So even though he's still morally gray with the blackmailing and the violent introduction we've got more of a possible enemies-to-lovers thing brewing and I'm HERE for it.

The way Suyoung kissed the mafia dude on the last chapter in that fierce way I love it. I love how he's not some passive MC, that he can take the romantic interest by storm as well, makes for a much more entertaining couple. Some shit bout to go down next chapter whew.

Gosh, to think the best friend is the bad end and the MAFIA dude (might) be the good end. Talk about unexpected lmao

Thank you and please spoil me more :) i didn't understand why he suddenly kissed him and also the latest chapter is confusing

I loved you analyze! Can I ask what’s your opinion now that we are 48 chapters deep

I loved you analyze! Can I ask what’s your opinion now that we are 48 chapters deep Kiko

I posted something a while ago about the recent chapters but I don't even remember my thoughts on it because I usually just word vomit all of my opinions and forget it 10 seconds after, sorry (╥﹏╥) I honestly just rant about characterizations in gay porn lol

I do feel veeeeery different about Taesung now that his true colors have come out, but I applaud the author for building up to that reveal so well, it had me fooled for a while. I still quite like the story since it's still staying true to its darker themes, now Taesung's behavior is mirroring Ji Song's a bit which is scary but pretty fucking interesting ngl

I'm glad you like my analyzes though! I've seen you before my friend, nice to see you again!

Aww! Nice to see you too bestie, it’s such a joy reading your comments bc you have such a way with words and you See you bigger picture instead of just focusing on one aspect, I really like your way of explaining the plot bc many don’t think that deep about mangas and it’s a shame bc stories like ltww is really interesting, I recently read ch 37 again and it’s wild

1evis1ittlea$$hole March 5, 2020 11:36 am

The mangaka really needs to go on fetlife or some shit because this honestly has some sexy BDSM elements but the relationship is bloody unbalanced. That's what's really wrong with this whole manhwa. Most Doms are not interested in being manipulative weirdos because they get plenty sexual gratification from taking care of the sub and giving them what they want. This whole idea of Doms being sociopathic douches is so 50 shades of bullshit and I'm tired of it.

The thing that makes me more mad about this one is that it honestly has so much damn potential. Yes there is too much emotional manipulation for this to be a healthy BDSM couple but you can tell the bottom legit likes being a sub, he even says in his thoughts that he likes it. The problem is he's still also doing it to be accepted and that's not a good sign, especially considering the Dom is a selfish prick who doesn't respect him. The MC could have found a healthy way to explore the kink w/ a better person but NOPE that would make too much sense I guess.

As a sub I do find the porn appealing because I love the idea of servicing a Dom from long distances, that amount of absolute control can be quite sexy. I understand why the MC likes it because it can be liberating to give someone else the reins. My problem is he ran into the worst fucking Dom possible. The dude's contract is an insult to the BDSM community. There /was/ a weak attempt at setting boundaries since the sub has to initiate the scene but how is the sub supposed to stop the play, huh? Where the fuck is the safe word Mr. I-Don't-Like-To-Hear-No?

Now, it is possible that the mangaka is going the badguy Dom route and I think they might've made him a shit Dom on purpose but honestly it doesn't matter, the BDSM community doesn't need even more media demonizing our community. What we DO need is more healthy, accurate, and positive depictions of our community. This manhwa just perpetuates stereotypes about Doms and it irritates me ngl

DAMMIT if only the Dom wasn't trash. If only fucking Japanese and Korean mangakas knew how to write a balanced and equal BDSM couple. This could've been gold.

    Aaaamen
that's why i was pleasantly surprise with 'The Sensual M'. it's not yaoi nor smutty, but i invite youall to read it if u want to learn about the true dynamics of these kind of relationships.

    Samy March 5, 2020 3:15 pm

Exactly, couldn't have said it better. As a dom myself i find this sort of contract beyond ridiculous. A proper, healthy bdsm relationship is created by the trust that both parties are pleased, and a safeword is absolutely the most important part in it. The sub should have the freedom to express what he/she doesn't like during a foreplay or a situation could end up traumatizing and unpleasant. Even rape play has boundaries. As you said, the dom was absolutely disrespectful towards the sub in this webtoon, it really got on my nerves.

Anyone know where to read this originally?

This is frickin interesting so far.

1evis1ittlea$$hole February 28, 2020 12:24 am

I'm glad Seungho spared him for once, perhaps he is gaining a conscious? I still hate him but if he treats Nakyum better it would be good to see Nakyum get a break for once.

I'm not getting my hopes up though, Seungho always shows his shitty nature right when I start trusting him. Literally idk how many times I've seen the comment section go from liking him to crying about how he fucked up for the 100th time by hurting Nakyum. It's like watching an abusive relationship with this damn back and forth. I'm sick of it, hopefully this is real progress.

*Not saying I want romance btw, just saying it's good character development for Seungho I guess? Which is great, at least one of the MCs gets some character development. Lord knows Nakyum will never get any lmao

1evis1ittlea$$hole February 22, 2020 2:02 am

:

Not gonna lie Seungho's brother is fucking cute, Nakyum should get with him instead let's be forreal lol

1evis1ittlea$$hole February 20, 2020 5:52 pm

She's dope and kind of reminds me of Mikasa from Shingeki no Kyojin! She's calm and collected but can also be gentle and kind though she will be a hardened warrior when she needs to be. I also kind of dig how she's morally gray, she clearly has a conscience but she also works for a /very/ questionable man.

Her fighting style is awesome too omg I love how she incorporates dancing into it, ugh, I love acrobatic fighters. She's strong as shit too on top of that. And once she partnered up with the Wyvern with that armor on we had no choice but to stan. I think I have a crush you guys.

As a Hanbin/Atisse shipper I give her my blessing if she ends up as the romantic interest because tbh her writing is great so far. I think it would have promise and not be the same boring forced het nonsense. I trust the writer with the idea of romance I guess lol though I wouldn't be surprised if they continued the running joke of Hanbin being a girl repellent.

Anyways, since this is a very rpg-like world I predict that the blind girl may become the new party member for Atisse's party. That would be interesting I think, her and the wyvern teaming up with them would work plot-wise too.

    Jtrichard February 22, 2020 12:40 pm

... She's probably gonna be dead after Aerik and Artis is done dealing with Allejandro

1evis1ittlea$$hole February 6, 2020 7:24 am

The pace is way too fast but the art is pretty and it's refreshing to have a creative omegaverse manga for once. I tell you most yaoi mangaka fucking suck at omegaverse, some of the most horribly written shit I've ever seen. This, however, is a nice change. I especially like that the alpha is still the dominant one and the omega is both dom and sub in a way. It shows that top and bottom isn't a personality trait, some ppl just prefer different ways of getting off.

This one has potential! I hope it's not ruined later somehow.

*Also, the alpha is 100% my ideal bottom and god does he look good taking it

1evis1ittlea$$hole February 16, 2020 5:25 am

All the girls thirst over the dragon dude and I just feel like: (-_- ) when I see him. My bussy doesn't even react, I just find him to be adorable.

Hanbin on the other hand ugh RAW ME ZADDY. Bitches in this manhwa aint got no taste lol I get pretty boys are popular in East Asia but damn

I will say it’s nice to see the stupid harem trope subverted though. Way too many Isekai stories are ruined by that bullshit (looking at you SAO). I love this manhwa in general /because/ it tends to purposefully subvert a lot of cringey Isekai tropes. It's quite refreshing (and funny).

Also, did anyone else see that author's note? lmao I lowkey would love for dragon dude to develop a crush on Hanbin, it's very plausible.

Some of you are talking smack to Byeon for their righteous anger and I know half of you are children who shouldn't even be reading this in the first place. Byeon has all the right to dislike illegal websites yet you motherfuckers try to act like they should be grateful for you regardless of whether you pay money or not. Do you understand this is how Byeon puts food on the table? Honestly If I could I wouldn't even use this site to discuss this manhwa but tough titty there's no where else to talk about this shit.

People will use illegal sites no matter what, that is true. But to sit here and act like a spoiled child because Byeon threatened to drop the manhwa (out of anger mind you, they probably won't actually do it) is baffling to me, they don't owe you shit. I /paid/ for chapters, you see me complaining? No. I will probably end up dropping this if the plot goes south but I don't regret supporting an independent artist either way because the grind is hard for artists.

If you want to use illegal websites that's whatever (we all have at some point) but don't sit here and act all uppity when the author calls you out, don't suddenly paint it like you're doing them a favor when you're not. People act like content creators aren't doing labor for pay, they're creators not your fucking slave. I hate how entitled some of you are. I get being mad at that dumbfuck who link that manhwa on twitter but don't come for Byeon.

But forreal we should make a subreddit for this dumpster fire of a manhwa

    Beatrix February 6, 2020 6:45 pm

    I 100% agree with you. I wish there was a subreddit. ╥﹏╥

I think Nakyum is starting to distrust Inhun in chapter 34, could be wrong but he definitely was reliving some moments w/ Inhun punishing him and was thinking about how he was thrown to the lions. I think he was questioning why Inhun let him be dragged away by Seungho. He might finally be coming to terms w/ things which is a relief.

His dream was interesting, more about him denying his inner desires, I honestly think his main conflict is internalized homophobia brought forth by Inhun. Inhun abused him as I thought (physically and verbally) and he has a horrible self esteem because of it. Seungho is still being....Seungho. I don't think we can realistically count on him becoming empathetic just yet.

Seungho's acting even more possessive and paranoid about Nakyum, Na was trying to go back to his room after 10 days of being bed ridden and Seungho yanked him back like "Where you going little nigga?" lmao Na was like "Chile I'm going to my room tf." Idk man, Seungho might be going into yandere territory but who knows. I no longer trust the author because Nakyum still feels like more of a vessel than an MC. They probably won't bother to give him a compelling obstacle like that since he doesn't seem all that important to Byeon.

Sorry, got salty. But I will say that Seungho is very VERY shook by Na running away. Like a drug addict who lost their fix for a moment. Yes, Seungho has attachment issues and he certainly has *a low sense of self-worth, he is quite the emotional person low key and I can't believe he's tricked me into thinking otherwise. He's showing his desperation more and more now. Na leaving probably triggered his abandonment issues lol that's what he gets. Anyway, they will probably use this to try to tug at the readers' heart strings. If he does not apologize or show some remorse towards Na I couldn't give two shits about his tragic bullshit back story.

    Kemi’sPOV February 6, 2020 8:31 am

Every opinion of mine put together in a single comment. Lol. And yeah..I’m really disappointed. (not by the story. Well actually bc of the story but l-) I didn’t expect Inhun to be such a bastardo. Like, I got rapist vibes from him, but this shit’s a new level. For a sec, and JUST for a sec, I thought that Na had an innocent love (at least for him) and had hopes of overcoming..well Seunghoe is a whole ass conflict on his own, but I thought and hoped that Na could get the “freedom” storyline. I guess not. Idm wherever the story goes as long as it’s not too badly executed. It was probably my wishful thinking from the start but I’m legit sad that Na’s story future looks so shitty (for him). BTW, I meant innocent, as in, his affection towards Inhun wasn’t mis-directed and was originally discovered naturally. (by Na)
Nice summary and thoughts tho, I agree and think you’re right
