If I'm being honest, this is a typical silly chinese webtoon that has nothing going for it. I'm just sticking around because I love overpowered main characters but I might drop this if it derails and starts focusing on other bullshit and romance.
I don't mind romance with shounen but romance in chinese webtoons is like soap opera from the 50s
It is a neverending cycle of nonsense and humiliation mashed together
honestly, I would've completely loved this if it didn't have ecchi in it as well as the dehumanizing slavery/masks and such. I like some elements of cruelty like making people lose everything and despair but a naked "table" slave and someone intending to auction another's virginity and all that crap is too much.
I like the main character and the president and his brother...they're interesting but only if this didn't have all that garbage in it, i would've said it has potential to be a 10/10
I hate chapter 5 but the rest are good. Chpater 5 is horrible for me. The uke enjoying being molested in the train by strangers is disgusting even if he didn't have a boyfriend. Having a guy who goes above and beyond to protect him makes the uke enjoying that even more unsightly
It is an actual psychological problem where people start to enjoy being molested. It is not their fault and neither is it disgusting. It is just what they went through at a regular basis that made their brain think that it is alright to gain pleasure from it. It can be overcome with counselling and support.
We might not know all kinds of problems that exist, but being unkind is not the way to go either.
It might be a real problem (I'm not an expert so I won't judge whether it's real or not) but I can judge it to be unsightly. For example, someone having the worst herpes is a real problem but I don't care to read about it so in he same spirit, I don't care to read about someone who loves being molested by strangers. It makes me uncomfortable...
Unsightly or uncomfortable is pretty different from disgusting. You might turn your face away from the person you mentioned (with herpes) and the thoughts of discomfort and the unsightliness will no longer bother you, but if you think of it as disgusting, you will actually kind of demean a person and their problem...is what I thought, so I mentioned.
'Coz molestation/rape or even herpes can happen to any of us, boys, girls, men, hell, even animals, so even if it causes you discomfort, you might not want to declare it disgusting as such....
Honestly, this is a whole thing. At what point does something stop being a fetish and become a psychological thing ? Or are all fetishes psychological in a way ?
So if someone cheats and then says it's psychological, can I not say that it's disgusting ? The guy in the story enjoys being touched by strangers, is that a fetish ? A psychological issue ? Both ?
I'll just say that, unless psychological issues and past traumas come into play and are clearly explained, I'll consider extreme fetishes to be disgusting. In my opinion, a enjoying public molestation is unsightly and very disgusting...unless proven otherwise.
I need to draw the line somewhere or else everything can be forgiven and overlooked because of that excuse
Actually, the thing is that no matter how many people we see, things we know, there will always be so, so much that we don't know. Your opinions will change and develop with every encounter and things you thought weren't ok till then will seem tolerable. The world is pretty gray. If you think something's tolerable, well and good, if it's not, as long as it isn't harming someone, why not let it be. I just want to say that even if you don't like something, instead of labelling it, why not let it be (as long as it is harmless).
Well, I think it’s not his fault and the author doesn’t have the intention of bringing this to life, and if you are afraid children would enjoy reading it than don’t worry it has the 18+ tag, there are a ton of shoujo manga about the female leads enjoy being molested, and the uke may be enjoying it physically, but that is just his natural body, mentally, no he doesn’t give the molester the consent and the molester manipulates him to accept that, the uke even states that he is scared. So stop saying bl is fetishized, shoujo do that a ton of time but people say nothing
It’s a psychological thing, the person provided real evidence and you call this poor boy disgusting or what he’s doing. It’s your opinion yes but that seems a bit rude to call it that way and it was in no way encouraging readers to do the same wth mabie if it was portraying the sexual abuse in a positive light but it wasnt
Honestly the best way to change the future is to not get involved with him at all because her reasoning right now is stupid. I mean I know we wouldn't even have a story if she said no and everything was done but I wish more thought went into making this less silly and maybe give her a good excuse, maybe her father forced her to get married or any of that "noble class" bullshit but her knowing she'll suffer yet thinking the best way to avoid that is to marry him but not fall in love with him is the stupidest excuse ever
Meh the story isn't bad but it's not very good either. It's just one of those yaois that you read once and forget about it.
There are yaois I remember after 9 years of reading them and this won't be one of those
The first 2 are my favorites of all times and the others are in no particular order. If you're into yaoi, I think you've probably already read all of them since they aren't hidden gems or anything, they're all pretty popular:
- totally captivated (and the Totally Captivated dj The Last Episode)
- Ai no kusabi: I don't like tragedies but I loved this and it could be my favorite yaoi of all times (I watched the 1992 OVAs and read the novel)
- Junjou Romantica
- Sekaiichi Hatsukoi
- Katekyo!
- From Points of Three
- Honto Yajuu
- BJ alex
- Tale of the Yellow Dragon
- Back to School
- Lack of Love
I'm pretty sure I love other yaois and I remember their plots but it would take for someone to mention the title and then I'll remember everything about them which id different from yaois like this one (the reason for my original comment) which I'll remember nothing about in a couple of months. I already forgot what it's about
I agree with all the other mangas on your list but when I saw a boring manga like Back To School as one of your favourites I immediately started reading the manga above (Rain Again) which you described as something not worth it and I don’t regret it. It’s the best. How can anyone even like Back To School and not Rain Again? Don’t understand it. Well tastes differ of course Lol
I like the first pair the best. The second one is kinda meh to me. I like the premise of the caretaker x the boss and they're good together but it feels like they don't have a future together. The butler isn't thinking of ever leaving that family and he'll never be free so he'll never truly be with the seme. Sure, the whole "it's enough just to text you and hear your voice" is cute for a while but it isn't something sustainable for years and decades so for me, the way it ended is the same as saying "they will break up soon"
Kris is an asshole and I'll never like him. He sold a girl who was in love with him (her loving him makes the thing crueler) and then to ease his own guilt he came back 4-5 years later like nothing happened expecting her to be in the best shape just relaxing around and waiting for him? He knew what he was doing when he sold her and he knew exactly to whom he was selling her to and for as long she was going away so he is a major asshole and deserves no redemption. I will never root for him.
I'm just reading this so it gets to the point where he is tortured and knows how much he fucked up then I'll stop reading because there is no way in hell I'm going to be here for when she forgives him or gets together with him. That's just sick

I thought I could ignore the terrible autotranslation and focus on the art and the general gist of what they're saying but that's too much. Also, and I think this is an issue from the original scans and not just the translation, there are too many unnecessary SFX ... like when they were about to enter the cave it said "big cave" or something like that...FFS we have eyes no need to state the obvious. I like SFX when necessary but this is ridiculous and they add nothing in this story
