Well now. I thought Gawain would be more tsundere, but he's pretty straightforward now that he seems to more accepting of Senianna, and now that he knows how abused she was. I'm glad Senianna called him out on it, and Gawain didn't get angry but accepted that she was right. Looks like Lancelot's the snake and Gawain is a good boi. He's my favorite now.

I read this here first and then just watched the drama up to episode 6. And now I'm back cuz I feel like Adachi's a bit more awkward in the drama lol. A bit more awkward and Kurosawa's actions come off as a tiiiiny bit more sketchy. That almost kiss after Adachi told him he didn't hate it seemed a bit more dubious in the live action cuz he seemed more confused going "what?" when Kurosawa asked him if he knew what he was saying, while over here Adachi nodded. Both versions are good though! I just feel live action is just altering Adachi's character a little to better fit as a drama rather than a manga.

At first I thought the drama aimed to be more slowburn than the manga hence the nuances in the characterisation...but then again the next volume of manga they still sorting out their feelings, not much skinship as well.. And Adachi drama gave more this cutesy klutzy feelings than the manga XD

When I watch ep 1 I felt like, wow kurosawa is so handsome but tf with the smiles?! Look so pretentious lol! but the more eps I watched it looks to me more like that kinda guy who covers every emotion with smile and when he looks so lost for slipping self-control when watching Adachi sleeps and looks so resigned about giving up his feelings...I get it then, he's shown more as a romanticist ig, while in the manga he is a teeny bit hornier lmao

I wonder how many vol will be covered up in the series tho. They did really good cramming up the plot so far, it doesn't feel rushed

I read this ages after I read the first one twice and was finally like "time to read" and I can't remember anything about the characters. Like I know Oriya and Eiji, sure. I thought I remembered Okui bein jelly in the first story. I didn't remember the predictions guy AT ALL. Time to re-read the first story for a third time.
Honestly though, I wish Okui and Shinohara's story was longer it was kinda weird for it all to be done so quick. It was like 3 chapters and BAM they're in a relationship. Okui's so pure that he's upset about losing his first kiss, and he thinks kisses should only be done with someone you like. But as it is in yaoi, he doesn't mind sex as soon as you finally confess ¯_(ツ)_/¯

What I think is interesting about this story is the way Deokhoo acts in regards to Nanhee. Like at first when they started dating and being all "I missed you even though it's only been a day" or whatever I'm like this isn't very realistic lol.Like well it IS when you're first dating but at some point you'll have to get into fights or like something cuz you can't always be 100% happy with someone. And we do see Nanhee get upset with Deokhoo at times, which yeah was totally his fault. But we didn't really see Deokhoo get that upset with her. But after finishing the story I realized why.
Like you see at multiple points int he story that Deokhoo isn't some completely clueless and naive guy that others make him out to be. Just cuz he's a geek who's never dated doesn't mean he doesn't know how to act with women or that he'll get taken advantage of like Suyeon said he would. He knows how to read people. He figured out that his sister's co-worker who wanted to use Deokhoo for money was just a rude and awful person when she said to him "it's a pity you're seeing someone." When Suyeon told him Nanhee and her mom were talking about diamonds, he automatically knew they meant the game and that Suyeon was looking for reasons to hate on Nanhee. And he was very willing to cut ties with her instantly, especially when she stole Nanhee's gift because he respects Nanhee and dislikes people he considers "bad." Then at the end with Nanhee's jealous friend, he knew the entire time she was trying to ruin the atmosphere but let Nanhee handle it on her own.
And yet, even though Nanhee did really questionable things at the beginning of the story and Deokhoo admitted she seemed dangerous, he never shunned her or turned her away. He recognized that she was just an awkward girl. Once you realize he has an eye for people, it all makes sense. That's why he fell for her too, cuz he could tell she was someone who had good intentions, even if she did weird stuff. I mean he did get annoyed she kicked him when he accidentally touched her, but he didn't like 100% hold it against her. Plus, his utter devotion to Nanhee is an extension of his fanboy persona too. That's why he's always super duper into her and doesn't get that angry with her since the kick aside, most of what she did was honestly just a mistake and the fact that Nanhee is very awkward. And Nanhee also is very forgiving with him as well.
So long story short, this was hella cute read. An idiot couple and super devoted husband and wife who don't beat around the bush and fall prey to the classic "drama born out of misunderstandings."

Yes!!! I love ur analysis of deokhoo! I agree, he's shown to be a really aware person and isn't naive. While he does love Nanhee, he also doesn't blindly follow her imo. It felt like he tried to understand her constantly and he knew her boundaries.
Nanhee also grew in that way. She didnt get upset with Suyeon like she would have before and i think she learned that from Deokhoo

Bruh. I read a similar manga to this where the freakin seme in high school would tell the uke "I hate you" but when they met up years later with the uke genuinely hating him he's all "nah I meant I LOVE YOU." (Kuzu de Baka ni wa Nido to Awanai btw).

Like, this is basically the same premise with a misunderstanding tho in this case Kei somehow thought the president was bad mouthing him and confused the voices he heard from the student council room. That's fair, that can actually happen to people sure. But he never TOLD the president that's why he hated him. And president just keeps trying to rape him cuz he "always loved him" like bruh u have a funny way of showing it.

And Kei himself is too wishy-washy constantly going from happy to despair over random comments or slights from the president. President denying his relationship (dunno why since it's definitely an open secret)? KEI IS SAD. President says "i love you" again like he's been doin like a broken record? KEI IS HAPPY. And then sad. And then happy.

And then somehow the whole manga does this weird switch where he has to take a plane to a dessert area and risk gettin shot like bruh what is even happening. And ofc it cuts to Kei giving a random presentation at a meeting he shouldn't be allowed into and then a luxury cruise ship with the president cuz why not. It's like the mangaka didn't know what else to do.

And the twins, as well, being mean, saying they can't help president cuz the chairman will kill him, but then saying "we'll help u anyway" like bruh. Like does the president know it's the twins' fault Kei even ran away from the school to begin with?

Younger Kei was a hella lot more of an interesting character too since he was more cheerful, cute, and frankly oblivious to the president's innuendo and feelings. Though that weird flashback of the president calling his butt a peach and his dick a banana was REALLY WEIRD.

Like idk man potential to make this more interesting was there but uh ya that got weird really fast.

Brother Yuu, why the hell did you have to grab your FRIEND'S BROTHER to pretend date with? Like I guess cuz "wow mayuki don't want his bro-con brother sticking to him either let's team up!" Seriously, immature as heck lol if he wanted his brother to make his own friends he should have just asked Mayuki to be his bro's friend like a normal person, not make a wacky rom-com scheme lol And then both pairs of siblings promptly live together. Like. That defeats the purpose of trying to break the bro-con bruh.

When I first started reading this, I was seriously confused because I was like didn't Kusaka have long hair in Asatte ni Kiss? And at the beginning of the story he expressed zero interest in Kunihiko in that way which also confused me cuz I thought when he first managed to meet up with Kunihiko again that he was in love with him. I mean he was all blushy blush. Then I got confused about them being in uni together, but yea the rest of the story explained all that. What I want to know though, is what happened to Kunihiko's motorcycle???? Like I liked him cuz his first appearance has him show up on a motorcycle, jacket, sunglasses being all "WUT UP YUU IT'S YA BOY KU-CHAN!" And now it's more subdued lolllll

    Ri-chan November 18, 2020 2:02 am

Ah yes I was thinking of the same thing too. Where did the flashy flamboyant motorcycle guy go? Did he trade up his motorcycle for maturity?

Shouta, sweetheart. When you've got nowhere to go and a man who's good with the child you gotta raise says he loves you and asks you to live with him, you say yes.

(Please note, this advice is not applicable for all situations. Please proceed at your own judgment.)

That aside, considering it was shown early on that Shouta had some male admirers, it's not surprising Sakagami also fell for him and was using money as an excuse for 1. sex and 2. trying to get Shouta to accept his monetary support. As a family unit, it's alright for shouta to now rely on Sakagami more, but I guess he still feels like he needs to be independent to get on his level.
Also, I KNEW the sex for money would backfire and Shouta would look into selling his body again >:0 Stupid Sakagami for even saying that to him. Plus his line about tainting a pure child was kinda creepy.
Lastly, Shouta boy. I know 3 year olds are hella fast but you lost track of your child at the beginning of the story and he nearly got hit by a car. Then near the end he nearly drowned. Like I guess that says a lot about how Shouta's still trying to adapt to becoming a parent, but I'm not even a parent and I wouldn't let a baby go near water without having my hands constantly hovering near his body in case he should fall in. I guess this scene still works though since Sakagami saved him. Sakagami was involved in the first and last accident too. It bothered me, but hey, I guess it works.

Takahiro, why are you so DUMB omg. He's def the type to be like "Ah Midori is so pretty and lovely his smile makes me the happiest in the world and I hate when he has a boyfriend! No homo tho"
