I have to say I'm liking the MC less now. His fellow students are being assaulted, many people are in danger, and the first thing he thinks about is "should I wait until night to continue?" There's a limit to how self-absorbed you can be in a situation like this...

I know. But it's still nice to have an MC that's likeable in some manner. Plus he did imply that he wanted to be a good guy. Just one working from the shadows. One that stays mysterious, and possibly do jobs the ones "in the light" can't do because of legality/status. A kind of anti-hero you could say. His actions in the last chapter aren't what a good guy would do.

Maybe I used the wrong choice of words. To some people mc may or may not be likeable. You just gotta find something else if mc isn't to your liking that's all. Its your own preference of wanting this mc to be somewhat likable where you clearly did not read the synopsis or the intro of this manga my dude but well putting aside that I clearly understand your pov and opinion of him being a douche but well what can you do? his character is what makes this manga what it is

Again with the "then go somewhere else" comment, though from a different person... It's like people can't look past their "you're either with or against us" mentality on the internet. I'm not saying I don't like the manga any more and just want to complain. I want to keep reading. I was just expressing some concerns about how self-absorbed the MC is. If it does get so bad I can't stand it of course I'll just remove the manga from my subs, but good god it's like you would force me to leave if you could, just because I don't think the MC is perfect.

We just don't agree with what you think is a "perfect" mc. We think how he is now is good enough. You act like him being self-adsorbed is hurting anyone. The fact that you dislike him just cause he doesn't feel the need to save everyone in the school shows that you're biased towards manga's with retards for mc's, so go and read those. And save them for what? Just cause they're classmates? Would they even do the same? no. So why should he save them?

This lack of interest to save other people is quite common is Korean manga and novels (Solo Leveling, omniscient reader's viewpoint, Trash of the Count's Family, etc.) I have no problems with it. Also, the MC here is also a student. I think it's unrealistic to expect one kid to fight against a gang of bloodthirsty criminals to save people. Realistically, when stuff like this happens, you tell the kids to save themselves instead of trying to be a hero.

Well realistically a highschool kid wouldn't be the head of an organization fighting the shadows from the shadows. And a highschool kid wouldn't be stronger than probably most if not all top fighters in the city.
And that's the thing, he easily has the power to save people without receiving a scratch himself.
And my problem isn't not saving people. It's why he's not saving people. "I could easily save her, but it wouldn't look cool if I did so now. I'd rather wait until it's dark." That's the kind of reasoning I find a bit iffy.

it's just a manga. the author is probably just making the story that way to catch the readers attention hoping they would at least enjoy it to a somewhat extent. I actually enjoy it cause its somewhat different from the other common tropes. If it doesn't sit well with you then thats up to your judgement. We're all free to have our own opinions after all ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭

Okay, I think that you might have lost the point of this manga. From the start he wasn't going to be a good or bad guy, he just wanted to be a mob character that did things from the shadows. Honestly his wanting to be cool and keep up with his hiding in the shadows is supposed to be silly and contrast with each other. He's just having fun. The manga plays out like his own imaginary world, so of course he's going to have flaws. Hell, half of the idiotic stuff he spews is just his imagination. He has no idea things are going according to his ramblings. So why would you expect him to act like a hero? He never intended to put his life on the line for anyone. But if you paid attention you'd notice that he has nearly died several times so that he can save people in his own way from the shadows. So while I don't think you have to like him, I do think that before you sit here and complain about his lacking as your idea of what a MC should be like, you should actually pay attention to what he was meant to be. He's not a hero or a bad guy, he's a mob character that chooses to help or not like any other person, it's just his imagination is fueling the world around him.

But my dear, that is simply how you view him. I happen to like "Heros" that are flawed, don't always do something because it's wrong or right, but because in that moment they felt like it. You have a high opinion about what a Hero should be to you, and that is fine, but you cannot complain about others defending a character because he doesn't match your ideals. I get it, he's not a "Hero" in you eyes, but he is the "Hero" of this manga. Like it or not. And I will repeat this, the character does not call himself a hero, but a mob character. In case you don't understand, mob characters don't save people, they follow the crowd and do whatever the Hero or Villan say. The ML in this manga, FROM THE VERY BEGING, was never obligated to help anyone. He makes that choice on his own. This is what makes the manga unique.

Damn that general got one hell of a punishment. Don't get me wrong, he deserved one for toying with the lives of god knows how many people just because he believed he was "the protagonist!!!" But I actually feel kinda sorry for him now. This isn't punishment any more, just pure torture to create some kind of demon or something.

They sneak attack using underhanded methods like the forcefield that weakens monsters, trying to provoke the monsters and when that didn't work killing them at random anyway, and keeping Rimuru away from his city. Yet they dare to now get surprised and even scared when Rimuru's forces retaliate. Well, now that they've lost that first element of surprise they're the ones getting slaughtered. Serves them right.

EXTRA:
If it were up to me I'd make sure to kill every one of those other world travelers. They're so cocky and never have second thoughts when they get a mission to kill a bunch of innocent, peaceful people. Monsters or not. I don't care that they're from the same original world, or that one was Shizu's disciple. Killing innocent, peaceful people without a second thought just because some king told them to makes them evil in my book.

Good point, but even if that were true the main other worlder group is still so uncaring about it. The only one who seems to really object to it is Shizu's student. So I guess she could be forgiven. The others though, having to follow orders or not, they didn't seem to have any problem killing innocent, peaceful people. Sure they were "monsters", but still.

As the title. He only thinks of himself and with his dick. And not only that but he refuses to do anything in this latest chapter, even with things having gone as far as they have already.
As Tom Holland/Spiderman said in Captain America: Civil War. "If you have the power, but don't stop the bad things from happening. Those things happen because of you."

Not sure if this was hinted at before, but it sure is obvious now. The "heroine" of the story is also a reincarnated person, from the same world Tia was from, whom also played the game. Otherwise she'd never be so sure about Cecil belonging to her, and how she should be "the heroine" and Tia "the villainess".

I mean, the MC is 25. How is that old? He's barely a fully grown, independent adult by today's standards. Barely out of college. Sure, maybe in that world you become an adult at 15~16 or something, but the average lifespan (of people making it past a few years old) was still 70 years or so. So how the hell is 25 old?

I think it's a cultural thing, rather the culture of the writer. A lot of manga list folks in their 30 to 40s as old. It is weird. Like I'll read stories with characters in their late 20's, so a few years younger than me at 33 and they will be called old...Like if that's old what are manga characters that are in their 70 and up? walking piles of dust??
Though in comparison to his companion that is still in their teens he is old physically. But only old as a love interest. Like if a 16 year old girl was dating a man in his late 30s most would think that was odd.

***Usually in manga around 40-50 is "old man" while 60 is "gramps" .. and not to forget that most of the people calling him old man are young men or teens sounding either over familiar or rude. And not to forget that most adventures are young, adventurers around his age either retired, dead or have families ( ̄∇ ̄") so he's typically an old man to them

Considering that he is 39 in an age where the oldest person is probably 60, maybe at most 70 if they are a noble with a cushy life, pushing 40 is considered to be pretty old. Old enough to start settling down and getting ready for retirement in 10 years. A dangerous job like that would have retirement around 40 at the latest unless he got a desk job instead of a field one if he wanted to stay in the adventurer's guild.

The manga had some harem tendencies at the start. But instead the MC actually married only one of the girls. Pretty refrshing if you ask me. Harems were already a cliché before the isekai fad, and the isekai genre made it a boring and tired cliché. Glad to see some manga are starting to break away from that.

So many plot holes it's unbelievable. How did the kid get past security and on stage in the first place? If a human girl hit a kid like that it would be perfectly understandable, but she's artificially created so it's suddenly an A.I. gone haywire? Alkaid only JUST got a body, so she was basically a newborn. Yet they left her alone for god knows how long without any supervision. They specifically gave her a "likes to eat a lot" setting, combined with her never having been able to actually eat before. Then they're surprised she eats a lot? It's okay to just sell off an artificially created human to be a sex slave just like that? AI doesn't exist in our world yet, yet WE'RE already talking about the implication of proper AI and basic rights. How could this ever be legal? How did the fan find her house in the first place? And how did he get up to her floor without a ladder or anything?
It's just one contrivance after another, creating a huge unrealistic mess. And I can already see why. Because the author wants to have a dumb naive clutzy girl who likes to eat paired with a good looking egotistical asshole of a guy. God, haven't gotten this worked up about such poor writing in a while...
The update is here now. Chapter 93, just read it.
And argh! Why did they have to stop there! This author is really good at finding just the right (or wrong, depending on your viewpoint) moment to put in a cliffhanger. xD
