After reading a few chapters I already guessed that this might be it's sequel. I mean, Tang sect, previous legendary leader had the river grass spirit. Yet Doulou Dalu isn't fully translated yet on this site. Kinda weird to basically be reading into the future now. :P
Technically the light novel Duolou Dalu - and the source material - has been done for a few years. I'm unsure of the completion status of Dulou Dalu 2, Duolou Dalu 2.5, and Duolou Dalu 3. Although if I'm honest, I think the light novel versions of 2 and 2.5 are complete. I am COMPLETELY unsure of the progress of Duolou Dalu 3.
God this protagonist is dense. He's been told that people with a slave collar must follow commands from the master. He knows he's their master. Yet he's completely oblivious to what that entails. As in, he has absolute control over them. They're his slaves. Yet he doesn't even mention it when they're fighting over whom he is a slave to. Why not just tell them "You don't seem to understand your situation. You're my slaves, I'm not yours." Furthermore he's been told that his magic is incredibly powerful. 1/100 of his power would be enough to make any magician stand out with elemental magic. Yet he's completely oblivious to the fact that he's basically OP in that world.
He talks like he's above others, but as shown in his thoughts he sees it as just an act. He still sees himself as just another guy. I mean come on! Get it through your head already that you're OP! Granted I'm only on chapter 2.2 so not sure how it'll be in the future, but it's already annoying me a little bit...
I wish I could read this manwha any further, but I just can't. I've only read until just after the tournament but I just can't like the protagonist. He's just so...passive and emotionless. The artist drawing him only gives him like 2 facial expressions. (neutral pretty boy or slightly smiling) He passively watches as someone gets his ass kicked (the great sage) then suddenly when the sage gets fatally wounded he suddenly becomes...enraged I guess? (his face didn't show any expressions so hard to tell.) He insists on not killing someone even though that person has already been completely lost to darkness and evil and has killed dozens of other people just before. I mean, just...ugh. =/
Plus I'm now noticing that the manwha was apparently discontinued as it isn't updated any more...

The story has been done before, and been done better. Firstly, the fight scenes are just a mish-mash of flashy pretty colours on the panels. It's hard to actually see what's going on. Secondly, the protagonist becomes strong...way too fast. Like, he's 10 years old and masters the sword. He then continues on to beat a huge snake while merely using it for practice, goes out into the world AT TEN YEARS OLD (try and remember what you were like at 10, then imagine being like that and travelling the world solo...) and in that same year beats a HUGE super strong rhino and even fights and chases away the demon beast leader of that area. I mean...I get it, he's special and all that. But seriously? Why not just make him OP right away if you're going from harmless child to super badass 'I can beat anything' within a few chapters?
