Twice now did this manga show as updated. The first time there wasn't even an update, and this time chapter 2 is exactly the same as chapter 1! Meh! :<

I FEEL YOU. MY HAPPINESS IS CRUSHED

Sanquin September 13, 2017 11:03 pm

Decided to re-read the few chapters that are out so far, and something occurred to me. There are a few of these game-like isekai manga where the protagonist has several classes at once. In this case, it was even...6? I believe? Anyway, now I'm wondering, are there actually any mmos out there that are like that? I personally can't think of any that let you have so many classes at once.

Rift and Archeage come close with their 3 class systems, but I've never seen any more than that.

Sanquin August 2, 2017 11:23 pm

Just saw it's from the same author as SAO. Really hoping the story and characters are better than SAO. That being said, so far it looks interesting enough. Though not much has happened yet.

In general terms it looks very similar to overlord yea. Top game character getting sent into the game world a few hundred years later. But that's only on the surface. In overlord, the world isn't actually the game world. And while they're both their powerful 'evil' game character, in this one the guy doesn't try to play the role of evil overlord. That's only how people see 'her', and how 'she's' forced to talk rather than what she is trying to say. Also, no entire guild full of npc's that joined 'her' yet, and no being summoned in secret.

If anything, it feels like it has more in common with The New Gate. But then again, a most of these 'summoned to a game-like world' manga are very similar. :P

Yep, my point exactly. The two manga are similar, but in the end, they're just similarities – not a ripoff.
Though now that you mention it, it is indeed more similar to The New Gate. (๑•ㅂ•)و✧

Anyone else thinking that this new transfer student is Mori Jin? I mean, Mori Jin became the supreme god so I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't age like normal people any more. And that he could also change his appearance to some extend. My main reason for thinking this is that Mori Jin has been the only one to ever have simple crosses for pupils to my recollection. Just like the transfer student. Plus in this later chapter his level started at 2.5, went up to 6 and then to unknown. And he even uses renewal taekwondo. (or maybe an even newer version of it.)

There's also the possibility that the transfer student is...like...Mori's son or something? I dunno, but I'd hate for that to be true. The idea of Mori having a son of some kind really irks me.

Sanquin July 16, 2017 11:16 am

She thought something smelled delicious, so I thought "oh there must be something bleeding nearby." And that was indeed the case...but what smelled delicious was...meat and vegetables? As in a NORMAL MEAL?! Vampires are bloodsuckers, why the hell is the MC eating normal food instead of going for blood in the first chapter?!

I guess you haven't read that many manga with vampires in them then. As for some reason it's very common for manga to have vampires that don't/barely drink blood, and can walk into the sunlight without problem... It's lazy writing imo. As it means you don't have to deal with the downsides of a vampire, while keeping all the upsides.

As it looks now, the MC is more of a blood mage with fangs and longer ears than a real vampire.

    BloodCoveredAngel July 16, 2017 3:46 pm

I still really like Karin the Chibi Vampire...even if it's depressing at the end. (-.-)

    Sanquin July 20, 2017 11:27 pm

Guess I stand corrected. In this new chapter it's made clear that she just -likes- eating normal food and drinking normal drinks, but it has effect for her other than taste. And the reason she walks under the sun is her sun resistance being maxed. Which, as was made clear, makes her like a legendary vampire of sort.

Guess I'll keep tabs on this manga after all. :)

Also, Re:Monster ( http://www.mangago.zone/read-manga/remonster/) A bit of harem but you really forget it's there, there is so little. Really more of an action. Already reading RE:Monster. And the harem is definitely there and noticeable. It's not focused on much, but he gets to bang half a dozen women after pretty much every fight. And most of his main entourage is women.

Arifureta is indeed in the ballpark of what I meant though yea. Read some of it, but updates feel kinda slow sadly.

Tondemo has no harem yet indeed, though it only just started so hard to tell how it will be in the future.

Yea...I'm not much into reading light novels. ^^;; I'm only reading one so far (Overlord), and it's taken me half a year of reading it on and off already.

    Shiva December 13, 2017 5:08 am

This entire novel boils down to - go to dungeon, make money, buy slaves, have sex, back to dungeon, make more money, have sex, buy more slaves or lusting after other women, then go back to the dungeon, make some more money, have sex, buy more slaves, repeat ad infinitum. I gave up on it after some chapters.

Sanquin June 15, 2017 9:14 pm

So btth and wdqk were made by the same author. And all three of them are basically the exact same story. Feels like this author is a one-hit-wonder tbh. ^^;; I'll congratulate him for being able to sell the same story three times though.

    Sanquin July 31, 2017 3:30 pm

Really, different plots? The settings and characters are different but the plots all play out in the same way.

btth: boy finds a source of power (with a master inside) and quickly starts rising in strength. Others keep seeing him as just a weak brat whom they can trample over, but he beats them. As he reaches new heights the conflicts become more global and his opponents more powerful. Every now and then he finds a new maguffin to raise his power another level. Also there's a 'magic school' involved.

In each story becoming stronger happens suddenly just like that. "Boom", and you rise a level, like you're leveling up in a game. In each story techniques and the like are learned by the technique magically flowing into your mind, without having to do any real study and barely any training.

So yea. The same story told three times, just with different settings and characters. I read all three of them and I enjoy them well enough. So no I'm not a hater. But the similarities between the three are glaringly obvious.

Sanquin June 1, 2017 12:03 am

So after finishing the last chapter a while ago I just started re-reading this manga. And right from the start I feel like the author never played any mmo's himself. The player who kills the mob gets the reward? I never heard of any mmo like that. At most, the one doing the most damage gets the reward. Also, players thinking archery, cooking and alchemy and such are useless? Never seen an mmo in my life where players are like that. If crafting skills/classes are really useless for combat, players would still make alts to craft stuff from materials they got from a combat char and sell that to make money.

Actually, the same goes for most mangas that are set in an mmo of some kind. I really like this story, and mmo-based stories in general. I just wish the authors would do some damn research for a change. ^^;;

    Anonymous June 7, 2017 8:17 pm

I think they know how do these games work, but if the story based on the reality then the manga would be really boring, you know~ the mc couldn't even have a chance to be special

    Sanquin June 7, 2017 11:34 pm

You can still have a special MC even while following actual mmo rules. Just look at real life mmorpg's. There are always those that are at the top. Plus there are stories where the world follows actual mmorpg rules and it still isn't boring. Log Horizon for instance. Or the Legendary Moonlight Sculptor.

Yeah, but they usually pay to win, I don't think that would be cut for a hero in a comic. And also the two anime you were using as examples.... I think they also don't really follow the rules. There're hidden quests and content in them and that is impossible to have in a real mmorpg. (Legendary Moonlight Sculptor -> rare class, hidden quests, hidden places; L.H. -> there are hidden quests too, but it's too different from a real game - you can make objects that don't have any blueprints -)

I guess a story about a regular player gaining fame by being an oddball and by sheer circumstance would be hard to put in a story like this.

As for my examples. I have to admit that I can't think of an mmorpg where hidden quests like that exist. Since, you know, internet. But it wouldn't be impossible. Especially considering how convoluted the sculptor quest line has been so far.

And I guess L.H. might be a bad example as they mix a 'real fantasy world' with the game. But the game mechanics that are there are realistic. And I haven't seen any hidden quests in it I think...

I think there're hidden quests, but they are not that obvious. Do you remember when Shiroe met with the sage and then they went to his hide-out? That started a kind of quest-chain, but there weren't any notice message or something like that... and it's the same with the Kunei clan. I think these were hidden quests (or quest-like)

Those weren't quests but situations that happened because the npc's all started acting like real people. :P In fact, I believe it was even hinted at that quests as a whole didn't work any more. As it was said that newer players couldn't get one of those magic storage bags any more since you got that from an early quest in the game.

Guess L.H. was a really bad example to use since it doesn't technically play out in an mmorpg.

I dunno depends on the type of mmo you lay, in some traits like alchemy are seen as useless when potions are so cheap and the cost of making them is more than what you get back for selling them, BUT that may also depend on whether you need to specifically equip alchemy as a trait rather than anyone at least being able to make base alchemy potions from that start..if you get what i mean.

Wouldn't it be because this manga is based on a VRMMO instead of a MMO? I get the feeling that in a VRMMO the bow user classes would be more difficult/useless unless you have IRL experience using a bow or took the time to actually practice it.
