Man I feel the whole magic bs ruins the plot, at least for me. She does magic at the cost of her own life span, but still talks about becoming Emperor. I think those two things counteract each other too much.
Like what's the use atp? Even if that's not her main goal and she's looking out for her people, trying to be stronger, you'd think she'd want to live a longer more fullfilling life knowing what happens in the novel. From the start I didn't understand why she needed magic anyway, for me it just felt like a last minute get out of jail free card, that in the grand scheme of things didn't help her with her goal at all.

I personally don't hate FL, but idc for her either. She really is just like any other FL protagonist and that's okay. She can fight but just not enough to really make a difference, yk what I mean? She can be flirty and romantic, and aware of the vibes, but only with ML. She's just naive and nice enough so that the handsome men around have an excuse to come to her defense and seek vengeance for her instead of having her act on the negative stuff. The narrative in general is simply about FL and ML getting it on, with 2nd ML for drama and that's it. It's very okay. We're okay.

It's not her character that is flawed, it's the author's writing who's choosing indulgence over making interesting characters, which is again okay. It's not great but sometimes being mid is fine.

With that said just remove the shading and uglify ML, the rating will drop like dead flies.

I'd like to think those last moments where the reaper disappears and we see how Hajime died really was him. Makes you think he had just the same conversation/flashback with the reaper, or from the start "it" acted more like a phone signal across time and space to connect those 2.
