I personally don't hate FL, but idc for her either. She really is just like any other FL protagonist and that's okay. She can fight but just not enough to really make a difference, yk what I mean? She can be flirty and romantic, and aware of the vibes, but only with ML. She's just naive and nice enough so that the handsome men around have an excuse to come to her defense and seek vengeance for her instead of having her act on the negative stuff. The narrative in general is simply about FL and ML getting it on, with 2nd ML for drama and that's it. It's very okay. We're okay.
It's not her character that is flawed, it's the author's writing who's choosing indulgence over making interesting characters, which is again okay. It's not great but sometimes being mid is fine.
With that said just remove the shading and uglify ML, the rating will drop like dead flies.
I'd like to think those last moments where the reaper disappears and we see how Hajime died really was him. Makes you think he had just the same conversation/flashback with the reaper, or from the start "it" acted more like a phone signal across time and space to connect those 2.

The typical cliche: yeeted back in time + villainious commoner step-sister trope.
It's showing signs of potential but it's STUFFED full of tropes and indulgence I fear. Like we're barely 8 chapters in but FL already got 3 men blushing over her for little to no reason. That alone makes me care so little for her, if you know the tropes you'll instantly be like, ok so she's set up and is just gonna slay everything now with every obstacle being just inconvinient looking without making you feel like FL is actually struggling.
The villains ARE getting some depth here, sadly enough it's mostly just one of FL's fish, aka the shitty ex, and not her evil step sis who's been carrying the plot so far IMHO.
I vaguely smell that it's gonna be like another Rashta scenario (or like yk, any time-reverse epic "my white lotus bitch sister turned on me" cliche) where the step-sis is the cause for anything and everything because she's this greedy cardboard cut-out that somehow managed to oust FL despite being written like a dense mf with negative IQ.

And ik it's still very early but I appreciate how the story's giving so much attention and character to the villains.

A simple cute story, 10/10.
Alexei lives with 'Pie' for 3 years during his childhood, a green skinned frog-like young woman with a heart of gold, and came to love her only to see her be killed by the knights who came to rescue him from the supposed cursed forest. He returns to his position as prince and then Emperor, heartbroken by what happened and gets a cruel reputation as "the demon Emperor".
20 years later he meets Pie again as Eleonora, daughter of a Marquis and recognizes her thanks to her affinity for beasts and her destinct accent.
The plot is simple and doesn't beat around the bush, which is increasingly rare within the shoujo genre.
You're here to see Pie & Ham reunite and be cute together and that's what you get. Every plot point or point of interest gets closure like Pie's reincarnation, her green skin, the forest, and Eleanora's family. I wouldn't mind more chapters with ML and FL being cute together or more lore about the forest, but I appreciate how concise it all is none the less. You can read the whole thing in an hour and walk away with a wholesome, warm feeling your empty heart.

I'm glad that Squal is trying to man up and face the music, but I find it hard to forgive him for his cowardice/inaction tbh. Like, generally being a coward is fine, he doesn't have to be Superman or anything, but the issue with his cowardice and inaction is that Mag had to pay the price for it. I do feel a similar way towards how Magaret used to be too.
I wouldn't feel this way about Squal specifically if the dad straight up forced him to trick/kill Mag with that said.
Sure, Squal was lied to, but it would've been so easy to just check out what the potion was. The plan was to kidnap her, that's criminally sus by itself and not a thing you just follow up on bc daddy told you there was no other option.
I do realize they're people, they were kids with flaws and bla (and I love this manhwa for this type of depth), it's not like I hate them or whatever it's just that I'm deeply disappointed and jaded by this (our) type of culture and power structure that allows lethally unfit people to sit up top while everyone else down that ladder has to bear the weight of their incompetence. In the end it is truly the shady dad who's at fault for all of this.
Her saying how they have to die so she can save "everyone" is hypocritical af. It's nothing but an excuse to justify her own greed for power, she couldn't care less about saving anyone.
