for them to be able to resolve two seemingly unrelated cases like this? I mean, sure the cha twins are gold diggers and probably had an appointment with Haejoon's older brother on the day of the murder, but they can't be the only gold digger twins to exist? ofc I wasn't expecting all that much complexity but this is a bit too... easy?

yeah considering how much buildup there was in the beginning it’s a little disappointing that they resolve it so easily. i kind of wish the two cases weren’t linked tbh, it makes things ’too convenient’ like you said, and it would have been nicer to have the secondary subplot run for a bit longer :////

here for the third time this week rereading 49+50 and it's insane how Hajun ties Shihyeon up because he can't figure out a way to emotionally tie them together since he has doubts about why Shihyeon wants to be with him in the first place.
Then in chapter 50 Shihyeon eavesdrops on Hajun explaining himself to blonde!Yunjae and asking 'do you really think I wouldn't do a lot more for you?'. You can feel the gears turning in his brain while looking at his bondage burns and how he's comparing Hajun's gentle demeanor and treatment of yunjae vs his agression and demanding self when sexually engaging with himself (Shihyeon) and the sheer SHAME it makes him feel to be 'used' like that even without the subsequent dialogue... that's some good angst writing right there.
The intention vs perception of both their actions are completely understandable to the point where you can't fault either of them for it but at the same time it hurts knowing how much the secrets they're keeping from one another is damaging them oof.
shut the fuck up irrelevant old man
