I see some people asking so I'm going to explain.
The brutality and cruelty in this manga is what makes it beautiful. It's not meant to be pure or healthy. That's the entire fucking point. It's beautiful like two people desperately clasping hands in the middle of a hurricane. Holding on tightly as they're ripped apart. And yet, at the end, there's the chance for peace. An end to struggle.
Shakespeare? Chekov? Romeo & Juliet isn't beautiful in the real world either. There's nothing beautiful about dead teenagers who 'fell in love' in the throes of puberty. But it's beautiful in the story.
This is a story of a love founded on destruction. Fixation, obsession, desperation, longing. The kind of relationship where they can't survive apart. But it's also about society, psychology, parenting, survival and the nature of humanity itself. Deep and beautifully crafted.
I don't like religious themed manga unless they seriously play with the mythos to the point it's interesting. So far this isn't interesting to me, the art style is unappealing, characters not quite attractive or interesting enough. Worst of all it's a total mess right now. I've only read one or two manga that did angels in a way that was interesting so this isn't a surprise.
Gary Stu ukes are also dull. Hope for the sake of people who keep reading it that they change that in the future.
Kaname and Zero were broken messes of people who had enough baggage to fill a plane. Yuki is and always was a Mary Sue. In my book: the boys were better off having an off the chain crazy forbidden romance themselves. But since this wasn't yaoi they paired with the Mary Sue. Fine. Fit the story from beginning to end and wishes aren't horses.
But Ai and Ren?
Don't get me wrong. I'm a lesbian (yes a lesbian who likes yaoi). I love yuri when it's not the kind that follows hentai styles. But Ai and Ren plain don't make sense. Unless you're going for cursed blood. There's no theme tying them together. No chemistry. Too heavy on sisterly to be romance.
Yuki and Kaname had 'obsession'.
Yuki and Zero had 'torment'.
Kaname and Zero had ....everything. Don't get me started there isn't a single romantic theme these guys didn't have going for them.
Ai and Ren have? What? What do they have? Because I can't see anything even wearing my Yuri glasses. They're pretty. That's it. Look to even other incest manga. Those that work have a really deep current of suffering in them. They are rarely based in universes where incest is accepted because it doesn't work very well.
The appeal of a good romance is often suffering and the end of suffering. This is truer if you're going to add incest. This relationship would have worked if you had put it through fire first.
										                                        Having Loveless flashbacks.
Once the chapters start dropping in length it usually heralds the end.
Haven't been here in ages but looks like it would pull through after the thorough gutting it's gone through. Just enough there to be worth holding on. But I've seen the short chapter thing happen to too many manga to stay optomistic.

They gave me a BAMF!uke, a great story, interesting characters, beautiful art, demons, romance so sweet it aches.
I want to show my support but I went to the website and I have no idea what I'm doing. If anyone knows can they tell me?
