I like this story but man the author needs to be more consistent with the dad
Like I understand that theyre trying to do like this thing where he was just cold, doesn't know how to express his feelings, and he was possibly doing it to hide his weakness from the king and he loves his daughter and it's not his fault
But the author is confusing me cause you can't tell me he's just being cold cause he's told her to go away and has been extremely hostile
Then you can't tell me he's doing it to hide his weakness bc he doesn't really seem to be hiding it at all and the king seems to know
Then there's the question of like what changed? Like it doesn't make sense why he never reciprocated her feelings when she was young but is doing so now?? Like how it's being portrayed is that he just changed 180 for no reason. Even if it was like "he didn't know how she felt when he was alone". Didn't the maids just tell him she was lonely so he came back? Like why wouldn't the same thing happen when she was younger?
Like a lot of people are hating on the dad and I get that but idk I feel bad cause I feel like he's not really a bad person and the author just went about his character in a messy way with a lot of plot holes;;;

Why does second couple feel more like main couple than main couple ever did ???
The second couple is more complex and developed but the first couple is what brought us here and what advertised the manhwa
There's not a lot manga/manhwa where I like the first and second couple equally but in this one I just love them both so much like their vibes are so different but so fun in their own way
At first I didn't really understand why they were so aggressive towards the father, like I always think second chances are a thing. Now I get it, ugh get the homophobic kidnapper out of here already.
Like idk I like this manhwa a lot don't get me wrong
But this villian just rubs me the wrong way
First of all sangmin just isn't smart constantly revealing his tactic so blatantly thus there's no suspense or mystery as to who it could be so it's just kind of boring in that sense
Like I understand the narcissistic viewpoint and it is true that serial killers will typically go back to the crime scene or taunt police officers to rub their victory in other people's faces but man... They just do it too obviously, like it's just so predictable that it wasn't interesting
Also the author does not at all do a good job of really expressing the amount of abuse and neglect sangmin went through as a result of his family
Like they clearly display a theme where the father constantly verbally abuses and neglects Sangmin and even bumsoo verbally abused him (when he was alive) because he's like the child of an affair or something with his mom (if Im remembering correctly bc I haven't reread this in a while)
I'm not saying that bumsoo deserved to die or that Sangmin doesn't deserve to be punished but if someone is abused and then as a result becomes an abuser (or murderer in this case) then there should be some blame placed on the abuser who started this chain in the first place, we should be more upset at sangmins father and his brother for hurting him and driving to this point
I just feel like the author had the means to make Sangmin a more complicated character where you want to feel bad for him because he's been abused his whole life, and you can feel his desperation to be accepted by his family just for once, but you also can't excuse his actions of hurting others, so you're stuck in this place of he needs help but he also killed people so what do you do??
Just feel like there's so much wasted potential in Sangmin as a character, he's just a boring character with no depth currently
But look at the art is nakyum going to be the lord and seungho going to be the peasant
If the master dies I actually have no clue whether or not my heart will be able to withstand that amount of pain
