Anyways is it just me, but I never bought the sappy act of the prosecutor. He just switched up one day and it felt so fake. He’s delusional and it felt like he only acted so “nice” to get what he wants. His expression when MC said he won’t marry him looked more like his pent up anger rather than being distraught or sad. He looks like he’ll snap fr.
I noticed there’s an increase of plots where the ML is blind and falls in love with the FL, regains his eye sight, then searches for her and doesn’t know what the FL looks like. There’s at least 3 stories I’ve seen with this plot (don’t remember the names) lmao. I swear the historical straight genre just finds ideas from each other and I’m surprised there’s hardly any plagiarism disputes LOL
They’re both crazy lmaooo. One acts like a crazy jealous gf, and the other still gets turned on

Although red flags all around, I’m pleasantly surprised that what started out as a toxic love triangle turned into a peaceful poly relationship. THIS is how love triangles should be done lmao. Especially for the rivals that were once bffs before the mc came along
Uhhh I’d say jin is black flag and on the path to possibly showing he’s worse than you’d expect. He already shot mc. But recent update shows him cutting off Jin’s finger. So unless this is on some Stockholm syndrome relationship, I don’t think that ship will be happening lmfao. Jin is pretty crazy, he got those crazy eyes now
WHERE TF IS THE TRAGEDY TAG. I DIDNT SIGN UP FOR THIS. Five year long wait and that’s how it ends. I feel empty inside. Y’know that audio “you were a wonderful experience.” Yeah, that’s how this story should be a described as the FL’s journey.

It honestly feels like nothing was actually resolved. All the problems were left as is. It really was just the journey of the FL having an unforgettable experience and forming connections, and that’s it. We don’t find out or even see a single hair of the humans that took all the mermaids. There was absolutely no lead on that. And nearly everyone was just offed off-screen. Only two survivors. And I can’t say it’s a good ending for the ML. He’s just left depressed. He went from being lonely to lonely AND depressed. It’s an open ending where he just closes his eyes and imagines being with the FL, that’s it. We don’t know what happens after that.
FL’s parents got took or killed by humans, while she was killed by her own kind. It’s true that the mermaids aren’t different from humans. It’s a cruel system they have. Sure it’s realistic that most of the mermaids won’t change their mindset of hating humans or killing their own kind who goes against that. But it’s so sad that NOTHING was resolved and everyone just has to move on from it. FL got her parents taken from her, her own future, separated from her love, and got her own life taken away. Her only little piece of happiness was that she felt relieved she could protect her two important people in the end.
The only plus is that there’s 2 side story’s. It’s a “what-if” everyone who was killed was alive. A happier ending.
So I saw the ending on a social media post and it ended a lot calmer than I thought. I thought there’d be a bigger fight, but the antagonist was caught and they lived happily ever after lol. Idk if xing mu’s illness was even cured fully

The amnesia doesn’t last very long. He’s cold for like one chapter and then he gets jealous and switches up wanting to hear about their memories, they’re having a nice time and he basically falls for mc all over again. It’s funny cause he’s also jealous of himself.
She’s pretty naive and immature but then again, like the caption says: she’s just out of highschool, a freshman in college. (Could be wrong about the time frame cause I don’t remember how long this relationship has been going on). I don’t expect her to act all mature and have super high intelligence. It doesn’t help that she literally has no friends or family to go to for advice. The only advice she gets is from blondie that also wants to hook up with her. If blondie approached her and got to know her through a friendship first, he’d be more reliable. But so far he’s technically similar to the black haired guy. Hot and rich, looking to sleep with her, not knowing her well.
I feel like compared to heat and run, the art was a bit more consistent there than here? I still love the art though. I just get surprised each time sion can look masculine one second and then look like a twink the next.
On another note, I feel like after reading both works of the author, I just can never vibe with the side couples they write. It could be the fact that every side couple they write has the usual dynamic of ultra feminine twink x masculine top. Or just that the personalities of the side couples never are interesting to me. The only unique personalities/appearance is usually the main mc/bottom imo. Like heat and run, all 3 side couple twinks had similar personalities and appearance, the only differences were the tops personalities. I feel like the author put all the creativity into the main couple and then just put the rest of the couple with AUs they were interested in

They wouldn’t put him in there for nothing. But I would be pleasantly surprised if the author decides to not take that cliche route and goes about her reaction a different way. (Like completely friend-zoning the guy)

Rant:
I just don’t get why authors have to throw in a rival for drama. It’s such a cheap way of writing. We could’ve just had the TRAUMA be the source of drama and it would’ve been interesting to have a ML with trauma alone. I swear authors can’t be creative anymore. Why does a love triangle always happen when I never signed up for it smh. It’s a pet peeve whenever authors show one dude on the cover and description, only to throw in a rival later on. I’d rather the story tell me it’s a love triangle from the beginning.
It’s so rare to find stories that don’t have love triangles or rivals thrown in the story for a long time to make drama. The only examples I can think of at the moment are:

No joke the sister is giving me those vibes. It’s not even the normal reaction of a person being all anxious they’re getting cheated on, but it feels calculating. I do hope we don’t go the insane route of actual murder cause that’s a way different genre. Public humiliation by exposing them is a good punishment at most.
So I came back cause I’ve seen posts about this on social media. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE this story. But I’m also really confused when people say this story has the best chasing/redemption arc. I feel like I’m hallucinating cause I don’t remember much groveling for it to be a proper chasing/redemption arc. 99% of the chasing was the ML acting like he didn’t do anything and was trying to woo MC with gifts/dates, and then a single day he cried in the snow, and was forgiven. That isn’t really a redemption arc. I did think that chapter was really sad on his part, but I don’t get what ppl say about the “redemption arc.” Lol
I finished the novel a while ago, and remembered when heechan and minjae are in a relationship, heechan sorta gets addicted to having sex with minjae. One scene his friends call him to meet up and he’s like: “aw man, that means I can’t roll around in bed with minjae today.”
So I checked on the official site and season 3 has started/been up. It’s just that no one has picked this up to translate and upload it.
