This story is a little behind from sasaki & miyano… in Sasaki & Miyano the third years graduated and they’re in their college I believe
But this one the third years are still in hs so this was before hanazawa was really okay with homosexual relationships, and it’s not that he wasn’t okay with it before but he was afraid they would get bullied for their sexuality/ he didn’t like people mocking gay relationships I guess

i really like hanazawa and i am afriad if he showed a bit of phobia it would make people hate him. those stuff can be easily misunderstood and taken out of context.
Idk about other's replies but from what I read, Hanzawa is just influenced by his family, both of his brother are gay. Then he said that he just become worried about how they look and how they are doing in the society. He was shown as relieved when seeing sasaki and miyano being happy instead of getting depressed from backlash and stuff, he realized "oh... they're doing well. My brothers must be doing mucj better than I thought too." Since he was shown to be surprised that their mother is very casual about their bros sexual orientation and was relieved that hanzawa is still straight, saying "Then I will expect Children from masato (hanzawa's first name)".
The senpai backing Hanzawa up actually backed him up quite in a correct way. And let's not forget that Hanzawa is a responsible dorm head too, inappropriate stuff, noting they are highschool student, are better not to be allowed since if they did it could cause others to feel uncomfortable if they ever witnessed/heard them on accident.
I respect seohwa for giving her realistic advice, not the kind of friend who going to tease you if you ever have a crush or push you to confess/make a move WITHOUT looking at the situation. this is probably the first time i read there's a friend like this in a comic. also kinda the first time that mc is not being dense and quickly admitted their feeling without any burden

tbh haruki wasn't too bad; her mindset is pretty common and relatable if it is real life. i simply doesn't like her because she's like a standard villain in shoujo manga. it's like pavlovian dog, whenever there's a girl rival in shoujo manga, i would dislike her. just that.
tbh i dont understand why some said it's grooming.
it's still technically a crime because yuusuke is still a minor, but haruki didn't raise him, their age aren't that apart. since the first time they met, yuusuke also had that kind of feeling towards her. i think, for yuusuke the problem wasn't the physical relationship, but the lack of feeling and sincerity. at least it's seems to be what author tried to show.
she still did something bad but it wasn't unforgivable and I respect author's choice to give her a closure. well tbh author should write her development better, but this is fine. I still don't like romance rival and i just wanma read more maki.
Grooming doesn’t mean they raised them then started dated, I mean it’s a type of grooming but it isn’t textbook grooming. She groomed him by entering a sexual relationship with him when he was 13-14 and she way at least 16-17 the age mentality gap by itself would have her in jail. But then she continued using him sexually even in her college days. Like she manipulated his feelings into having a sexual relationship basically putting him on a leash. If you do ignore the age gap and child grooming happening, it’s still classified as grooming as she used him and groomed him to never say no to sexual favors for her.

ah I mtl-ed the novel. so if someone misunderstand, they were "enemies" because they were from different faction, however it's not necessarily they hated each other. being "rival" also doesn't mean they do. it's similar to wei wuxian and lan wangji's relationship before they "made up". that's as much as 'spoiler' i can give you, the real truth is much spoilery.
anyway you can see here mc definitely doesn't hate ml. btw i like how they drew the characters here. it's just style i rarely seen in cn webtoon idk how to explain it... it less cartoonist or webtoon-ist and look like manga(?) ok what the hell i am talking about
edit: i realized how this can be misinterpreted. i originally mean when wwx & lwj relationship after wwx become ghost cultivator (thus different faction), but for more spoiler, they do too are friends even before mc changed faction. so yeah they are more similar to wwx lwj relationship than what it seemed. i cant help but want to give spoiler because it will be a long time before the webtoon will be finished, if it ever get finished anyway TT

I actually stopped reading somewhere bc i also read spoiler that the direction of the story is a bit weird. It has sci-fi element later on. But for the spoiler about these two relationship...
MC used to have a good standing as immortal disciple of a sect. Then one day he discovered a hidden disciple which was ML. ML's master also has high standing in the sect but for some mysterious reason ML was hidden from public and basically neglected by his own master. MC and his gangs befriend him. There was one incident where ML was accidentally kidnapped and MC tried to save him but in return MC lose some of his memory about that time. This incident created some sort of bond (like blood bond somthin) between them. In the future ML will be able to use MC blood/energy or something to restore his mysterious power. Who ML actually is I also havent read that far. But he has some kind of immortality and probably not human.
Btw if i recall correctly, after this incident MC lost his core/spiritual vein i dont remeber but anyway this make him like wwx, unable to use his qi. So he started to go to another path which is mechanism or something. Time gap. He later dropped out of the sect thus make him some sort of traitor and he made his own place/faction but later his right hand man something sold him to immortal sect so he could be executed. That's how he is now in the current predicament.
Btw while MC in his own faction he faced ML several times and thought that ML must have hated him. Serioisly their relationship cant be anymore similar to wwx and lwj
