Someone just decided to add yaoi to it since it features a gay boy in it and his struggles, but this gives the same vibes as a few other "yaoi" series I tried to read and it's just not it lol
Also, tw for pedophilia and incest ((both Mr. F and the old dude the Mc is fucking around with)) the old dude wants to fuck his own son so he goes around sleeping with high schoolers he finds on hookup apps lol Mr. F is dating his cousin.

It gives "ignorant het girl trying to save the gay boy" vibes. Mind you, I didn't read the whole thing since her weird speech about "God must be a fujoshi" kinda made me groan-- and that's saying something as a fujin of 20 years lol
I don't know. I get that it's trying to be "realistic", but something about it rubs me the wrong way. It tries to talk about deep, complicated subjects only to walk them back and make lil to no sense in the end. It's very one dimensional and just overall kinda misinformed.
I don't mind my series having darker/heavier themes, but this just feels like it's supposed to be more uhhhhhhh-- informational?? Idfk I just don't think it belongs in the yaoi section lol
Also, before someone tries to jump me for whatever weird reason they conjure up; I'm a 30 nb queer adult who has lived in the south/Bible belt their entire life. I think I know a thing or two about how hard it is to live as a queer person when surrounded by bigots so don't try to tell me I just don't know anything and that's why I don't like this manga lol
i did actually read it all the way through before and while i agree this chick was on the annoying side and author didn't always convey things the best; i ended up enjoying this highly questionable manga. i got invested in a side characters story that apparently has a more fleshed out extra in the novel but i've been too scared to read it since it was too messed up. also, just because i've seen a lot of people misunderstand this manga's author & i'm not sure based on your tone if you're on the same track, but the author is actually a gay man in japan and has said he wrote this based off some things in his own life. so maybe in this mans life this was more realistic for him personally??? (though for sure embellished for fujo manga.)
also, been a good bit since I read so idk if it felt 'informational' to me per se. BUT MAN IF I CAN'T HOPE IT WASN'T WITH THAT LITERAL PEDO MC WAS WITH. and delulu fujoshi.
I think my biggest gripe is that whoever reuploaded it tagged it with yaoi. It's like when people kept tagging that one mangaka's work "My Lesbian Experience with Loneliness" as yuri when it was meant to be a retelling of her actual life and her mental struggles.
This isn't a yaoi manga. This isn't even bl. I don't know what exactly you'd tag it ((maybe something like seinen like it originally was)) but it doesn't belong in this section of mangago lol
And I haven't checked into the mangaka since I think this is the only thing they've written and I know it has a live-action adaptation. That's about it lol but I guess part of my hunch was right.

Kojima finally getting closure and learning that it wasn't actually his fault that everything got so fucked up when he was child is doing numbers on me. His family is fucked. His dad wasn't a creepy, murderous pedophile; he was a man grieving the loss and theft of his son.
It's still traumatizing that Kojima had to see him die like that, but I think with Daimon there to put those memories in a more correct perspective he's going to be able to remember his father in a more positive light.

Also, I can at least applaud the mangaka for not taking the usual "I've fallen in love so I'm not gonna be unhinged anymore" route. Whether this gets any better with the upcoming chapters is up for debate tho.

"Maybe the author realized that what they were writing was illegal" Bov is a whole ass adult. Not a doddering toddler ignorant to the laws and ways of the world lol Bov's previous work started off similarly ((minus the non-con)) where the mc was a hard-core stalker and manipulated the ml into having sex with him. It eventually turned super sweet 'cause that's just Bov's MO for their stories.
It's like how Maria-sen loves adding horror and goth elements to their works despite them ultimately being romantic.
