Kurisu is the type to put others before himself. He's using the excuse that he wants his mother and daughter to be happy to avoid fully accepting his sexuality and finding his own happiness. He feels guilty for not being able to be in a heterosexual marriage and therefore in his mind he feels like he's not allowed to find a partner that actually fits his sexuality.
I get it, Niina is being pushy but Kurisu is also being a big baby. He's known from the start that he's gay and tried to push himself to be in a heterosexual marriage as a way to pay his mom back for her raising him as a single parent. Kurisu is the type to never come to terms with himself and find happiness of his own. He's a people pleaser--we've seen this in his home life and at work. He is content with being by himself for the rest of his life if it meant that he wouldn't cause anymore grief for those around him. I can already see Honami being upset with him when she's older 'cause of his stubborn pride and unwillingness to put himself first for once.
As much as I hate to point it out but he needs someone like Niina to push him out of that comfort zone. Kurisu isn't a small, traumatized child he is a grown man who doesn't want to accept his reality and is pushing the blame (not intentionally) onto his child and mother. In the short time they have actually been talking to one another Niina has already done two major favors for Kurisu--especially the interview. Not to mention I don't even know any men irl who would bake a fancy af, professional level cake and deliver it for free on their day off. Niina may be pushy but he isn't without good merits as well.
FYI Kurisu gets on my motherfuckin' nerrrrrrrrves with the whole "I can't do this 'cause I don't want to hurt anyone else" like BITCH NO ONE GIVES A SHIT ABOUT YOUR MARTYRDOM. Quit being a baby and stop using your fucking c h i l d as an excuse to not find your own happiness. Niina is talented, has a stable job, lives on his own and is fine as hell. Stop whining and accept that you need to be happy, too, already. Yo bitch ass already had your eyes set on this man and he is wanting to reciprocate those feelings. You lucky enough he's gay af AND wants you. Work on this relationship together instead of using every excuse in the book to avoid being true to yourself. Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit (● ̄(エ) ̄●)

What in the actual fuck is this plot? I've re-read it about 7 times now and I still don't understand what is going on???
Why does Mimi have ears and only appears every once in a while?
Why does Sukai not have horns all the time?
What is King really and why tf does he carry a (I'm assuming due to spike hardness) mini porcupine?
Where tf did Tomomatsu or whatever even come from?
Is this supposed to be like some weird form of like omegaverse/pheromone genre?
WHY DID IT TAKE SANTAROU LIKE 6 FUCKING CHAPTERS TO REALIZE HE HAD A HEART SHAPED MARK ON HIS BODY??? HE TAKES SHOWERS RIGHT? HOW TF DO YOU NOT NOTICE SOMETHING JUST SUDDENLY APPEARING IN SUCH AN OBVIOUS SPOT LIKE YOUR FUCKING STOMACH??
Why is the plot so all over the goddamn place AND WHY IS EVERYONE SO OK WITH IT? LIKE---I'M P SURE AT ONE POINT WE JUMPED FROM THEM BEING IN A SCHOOL STORAGE ROOM TO BEING IN SUKAI'S ROOM IN LIKE ONE PANEL WITH NO TRANSITION WHATSOEVER. I CAN'T--TAKE THIS--! (╯TДT)╯╧╧
Everything about this manga pisses me off and seeing as it's been dropped apparently I'll never get any fucking answers to any of these questions 'cause IT'S NOT LIKE THEY COULDA ALREADY DONE SO IN THE 8 CHAPTERS THEY ALREADY CREATED. GODDAMMIT WHY IS THIS SO FRUSTRATING?! (╬ ̄皿 ̄)凸

You say "most yaoi" when I've read over 3,000 titles and this is the first time I have been seriously so fucking lost that it's frustrated me. Most of the time I can piece things together but this one--unless they just genuinely fucked the uploads out of order or something just doesn't make any fucking sense.

I am so fucking happy that I’m not the only one that is so utterly fucking confused by this shit. Not only is the plot all over the place but there is NO EXPLANATION for ANYTHING that is going on. And then it just fucking ends out of nowhere?? Wtf I was hoping at the very least he finds out he’s like half fucking succubi and realizing that’s the reason for this random ass harem of mfs that appeared from who tf know where

I thought this was gonna be some sort of supernatural story but like none of the characters have any sort of consistency.
One minute everything is fantasy like and the next it's just your standard school setting. And it's only the main cast that is weird?
They made so many chapters for this one and now the artist is MIA so it'll never be finished. I feel like the artist didn't even know where they were going with this one if I'mma be honest here. I've tried to re-read it and take my time with it but I just-- don't understand a single goddamn thing with this kind of plot.

So to answer your first question I think mimi isn't a person, but maybe somehow a real spirit in this cursed harem world.
The best friend just likes wearing fake horns/lab coats*shut in*.
King is covered in bandages, and is seen with choke marks *w/o explanation* around his neck, because I think the operator maybe trying to put a physical fork in his path*throat*.
King's porcupine stabbed him to stop him from upsetting the operator of the harem world who is obsessed with the MC, and cursed him*the porcupine conceals themselves most of the time from the operator, probs*.
I think glasses is the manipulator/castor of the cursed harem world affect.
I believe this isn't an omegaverse, but pheromone curse might be right. Although the hearts steadily increase.
The MC probably didn't have the marks show up on visible parts until later, I'm guessing? The world is like a trap, and in a continuous loop because of the curse, I think. That's why I think everything seems to be everywhere, but with little progression, and the same scenes.
I also think "Paradise" dream, what glasses said when he is first introduced, the MC just joining the class council, MC being unable to say no, the best friend's outburst, the wounds on King, Mimi being a literal beast, the multiple hearts, glasses again being the one to rally the others up are hints.

that you guys don't understand--
Akihiko and Ugetsu were in a very toxic relationship. They loved each other but didn't at the same time. Ugetsu prioritized music over Akihiko and slept with random partners. Because of that Akihiko started to slowly fall out of love with music and became a gigolo 'cause he felt like it was killing two birds with one stone. It was painful for them to finally put an end to their relationship--they had been together for so many years so no matter what their relationship was it was going to hurt--but it's for the best.
Akihiko can start to focus on music and develop his love for it all over again. Ugetsu can continue to focus on music and doesn't have to feel like he's constantly tormenting Akihiko.
And the thing with Akihiko confessing to Haru so quickly makes sense if you ask me. Haru was the one who reached out a hand to Akihiko and began to pull him up out of the darkness. We had already seen that Aki can't keep his cool when it comes to Haru and that despite cutting his hair that Haru still can't get over his love for Aki. Their relationship is just as valid as Mafu's and Uecchi's. Haru needs Aki to fulfill his love for him and Aki needs Haru to support him and stay by his side.
(That and I cannot see Haru ever pulling the shit Ugetsu did. Tbh I didn't like Ugetsu at all. He acted like a spoiled brat and then walked around all high mighty just 'cause he was famous. Yeah, I get it, he's a genius bursting with emotion--but that doesn't give you the right to be shit towards someone who clearly loved you more than life itself.)

At first I really disliked him. Didn't hate him but there was a strong "you are such a selfish prick" feeling for him. I understand that music came first and foremost to him and that he really did love Aki--but he drug it on for too long. He enabled so many things to happen between the two of them and then at the end he still wanted to monopolize Aki. Ugetsu knew that them splitting apart would be better for the both of them all along. I'm just glad he didn't turn into a psycho and hurt Haru.

Thank you ! Some peoplefail to see Aki and Ugetsu's relationship for what it was, there was no happy ending in sight for them.
The only thing I might "disagree" with, well it's not really a disagreement, it's when you said Aki confessed to Haru quickly, something close to half a year (or more) went by between the day he realized his feelings and the day he actually confessed (and he wasn't planning to do it) I don't really find this "quick" but I can see what you meant.

Talking about "Uenoyama deserves better" and "Mafuyu doesn't really love Uenoyama."
First off, what Mafuyu went through was traumatic. He had been together with Yuuki since they were small children and then became lovers as they got older. Mafuyu still blamed himself for Yuuki's death and it had only been a year--a YEAR--since he died. When he met Uecchi and the others he was still hurting.
Secondly, it's THANKS TO UECCHI that Mafuyu is able to heal and become an amazing musician and lyricist. Uecchi's love for him and Mafuyu's growing love for Uecchi is what is bringing out their full potential. Uecchi found Mafuyu and is pulling him up out of the darkness--giving him all these opportunities to become whole again.
Lastly, IT WAS MAFUYU THAT CONFESSED FIRST WHILE UECCHI COULDN'T EVEN SORT HIMSELF OUT. Mafuyu was the first to voice his feelings to Uecchi 'cause he could feel him becoming an irreplaceable existence in his life at a rapid rate. Uecchi was fretting over whether or not he should confess and was worrying over needless things which hindered him from confessing. I mean, he did initiate the kiss first after their live but he couldn't even remember whether or not it was real...

and ue love has it's roots, we saw how his friends treated him badly cuz he's better than them and strict with their practice and how this made him dislike music for a while and stop making new music sheets, yet when he played on sato's guitar and saw how that somehow moved his heart his passion to music was renewed, his hesitation regarding confess is becuase his character was made for music in the first place not lovers, his attitude has it's place ,and sato's confessing first cuz he of all the other characters know how valuable words we say r

i totally get u, but their way of judging is blinding them from such art, let them be and enjoy it yo self... i used to come to this comment section to reply to all sortsa ppl who say such things cuz they r shallow and can't see and analyise and connect every panel, word and feeling of the story to anther part of it, but now with the anime and more ppl being artless i decided to just enjoy it, seeing how it got such a great anime means these opinions r nothing and given will spread farther...
And just never finished it 'cause a lot of them left me feeling really depressed and at the time I was in a dark place soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo--
I was brought back here 'cause I read the cute cross-dressing work by the same author and thought--hoped--that one of these ended on a good note but the only one that was remotely happy was the one with the delinquent and his former senpai. All he did was become an adult and grew out of his yankee phase.
All the other ones made me hella sad.
