The manhua is great and has beautiful art, but so many things didnāt get adapted. Plus the manhua was axed. The novel is truly amazing, wu zhe is a great story teller. I think reading the novel is the best way to fully experience cheng ke and jiang yuduos relationship and individual character development

Bro how did I only just find out this is based on a novel??? Now I need to figure out where to read it cause wtf ?!! No wonder the characterization and internal monologues are so good

I understand that people donāt like this season so far, but it has alleviated some of the concerns I had from last season. At the end of the last season, I was worried about je-oh accepting this new position. It was a similar path to Ms. J: going from prostitute, to running prostitutes. I was concerned with how he act. I didnāt want to see a character I adored hurt others that were like his former self. I didnāt want to see him prove Ms. j right and become like her.
It hurts seeing Je-oh struggle, but I think so far this season clearly establishes je-oh is uncomfortable with his new position. He has flashbacks to his trauma. Although he selected that young boy to be a prostitute, and let him (presumably) be SAed by the boss, je-oh was obviously conflicted with it. And later on, when a client was being abusive, je-oh smashed a bottle on his head. While Ms. J set up young Jeoh as a pawn (giving him the knife), jeoh intervened and stopped the client.
I havenāt read ahead in the raws, so Iām not sure where the story will go. But I wouldnāt be suprised if future episodes center the āthrillerā elements again. Jeoh is in a precarious position. Not only do his underlings not respect him, but considering Ms. Jās husband/fiance is going to be a politician, she will likely come after jeoh at some point. Since his new position gives him some protection, even if he wanted to, he canāt really quit.
Overall Iāve personally enjoyed this season. I like seeing Jeohās character being explored like this. (No I donāt like the rape and SA, but some of those scenes were flashbacks that we as an audience already knew had happened). Especially based on the nearly 60 episodes of amazing writing from the previous seasons, I have hope the creator will progress the story in an interesting direction.
It makes sense jeoh is struggling from his past traumas.

I know people were complaining about the new art style, but I actually really love it now

What personality change? Do you mean je-oh struggling with his past trauma?
I think itās understandable he is having a difficult time, considering he now has the same position as his main rapist and abuser. And even earlier in the manhwa he wasnāt mentally okay, but it just wasnāt the main focus of the plot.
