this story has 3 parts. after the first timeline, both Aeroc & Kloff regressed, but into different timelines.
in the second timeline (season 2 of the manhwa), only Aeroc regressed. Kloff didn’t, but he had dreams about the first timeline, which he always dismissed as just dreams. the story was told from Kloff’s POV.
in the third timeline, only Kloff regressed. Aeroc had no memories or dreams of the previous timelines, and the narration switched to Aeroc’s POV. this time, he didn’t fall in love with Kloff at first sight in the rose garden because he thought Kloff was a madman crashing his tea party. (Kloff regressed during that tea party, so he acted aggressively toward Aeroc, who was just confused and didn’t even know his name yet).
so basically, they both got a second chance, but the story changes depending on who regressed. the novel explains their actions much better, making it easier to understand why they behave the way they do.

anyway fyi if you’re on chapter 26 rn and want to try reading the novel, you can start at volume 2 chapter 9. im pretty sure chapter 27 in the manhwa is starting at volume 2 chapter 10.

in the first timeline, rapiel wasn’t even pregnant with kloff’s child, it was lord wolflake’s. i’m not justifying aeroc’s actions, but damn… his so-called ‘atonement’ was way more miserable istg

I think the fact that Rapiel's kid was someone else's doesn't lessen Aeroc's crime. Yes, it would have lessened Kloff's anger, but morally, Aeroc's actions were awful in the first timeline regardless of who fathered the child. He paid people to harm a pregnant mother. Even if he didn't intend for Rapiel to die, the dude was with child and everyone knows how delicate that situation is. Unintentional murder is still murder. It also makes it worse that Rapiel technically never wronged Aeroc. He may have wronged Kloff but he's never harmed Aeroc in anyway. While this doesn't mean Aeroc deserved everything that happened, the story does make it pretty clear that he brought those consequences upon himself
oh they made it a manhwa?? THE NOVEL IS A MASTERPIECE
Where to read it now? I had a site before but it's not there anymore. Any idea?
