I'm reading this again and Yonosuke threw me for a loop. It would've been so easy to make Ryoichi the reincarnation. But at the same time, I get it you know? Yonosuke is finally at peace and hopefully has a better life than what he had before.
Khaol's existence is so embarrassing at this point. He gave up River for his old lover who doesn't even love him anymore. Now he's reminiscing about when River said he loved him. It's just so pathetic.
I also kinda blame the original author for orchestrating a Love Triangle that she couldn't get out of. She made Khaol and Heil too likeable in the novel and in the end made River leave them both. Now, it appears the only way to fix it is to turn Khaol into and asshole and humiliate him.
